Gwent Dragons 2015/16 thread
First topic message reminder :
Sure, but here I am trying to understand your opinion yet, sadly, you won't address a key element of it.
Previously you wrote: "Only sad, narrow minded parochial people stuck in the amateur era mindset would see gwent as something in direct competition to newport." so I wrote a detailed, honest and clear answer as to why that insult is misplaced.
It's misplaced because one club is carrying all of the risk but with only 50% ownership.
Do you think it fair that one club carries all of the financial risk, without total ownership, for a "Gwent" team? Sure, you don't need to address the question but, in all fairness, it will speak volumes if you don't address it.

Re: Gwent Dragons 2015/16 thread
Amos has looked confident, seen a lot of the ball, makes a lot of yards considering his size.
Hewitt made a great break for the try, exciting runner. However he missed the tackle for the Ulster try. Maybe showing where he is at the moment, but definitely has a bright future.

I should. There again I should be watching Corry too, but that's another story.
Nick Williams on soon anyway.

Another try Drags.
Ulster don't like it up 'em.
7-15 to the Gwenters.

Think that was your young over-eager back row.
Dragons were excellent. Can be very proud. Should be frustrated they didn't get the win ( though maybe not blame the ref?), better team for most of the match, really starting to motor. Lot of cards, though.

Re: Gwent Dragons 2015/16 thread
There was nothing in the second yellow card offense, not even a penalty, massive overreaction from Owens.
Ulster didn't really deserve to win that on that display.

Re: Gwent Dragons 2015/16 thread
Put this on the Ulster thread, so will stick it on this thread as well, as there seems to be no Ulster v Dragons thread, unless I missed it.
First, Dragons gave us a hell of a game, and there would be no complaints from me had they won, gutted as I would have been. Very well played Dragons
Thought it was a great game, even with the errors, and had me on edge throughout. A real physical battle, with some great play from the Dragons,
Reidy was looking like Williams at times today. The guy really is coming on very well. Thought Stockdale had a great game for his first run out, and definitely shows much promise for the future.
Heart near stopped when I saw Olding go down, but thankfully he looks in fine form after his blow to the head. Also think he played well considering he has just returned to the senior side after a long spell in recovery.
Paddy Jackson, an absolute star in every respect. Should have been starting/benched tomorrow for Ireland, but so thankful that he was there to save the day.
Now, just for me to try and relax after that game ...

Fair enough - well done to the better team. You look exceptionally well drilled and very sharp. Second week in a row with a fantastic defensive display.

On the Ulster game - gutted. We played so well, even the home commentary team were full of praise (and it wasn't pity praise, either). The Adams in midfield were superb again. Adam Hughes's try should be a try-of-the-season contender - it's just a shame so few people in Wales will have seen it.

It was eight last year wasn't it? Including the best Welsh player in the tournament and another undeserving whippersnapper who played for the seniors in a World Cup QF only months later. Undeservingly.

Not really after the sh6t they pulled with Scott Williams.
Always liked Adam Hughes, pocket battleship. That chase upfield to tackle Kirchner last week was my moment of the season. We used to show that kind of heart a lot.

Scott was always due to stay at Scarlets anyway?
Interesting to hear that Amos' future lies at full back, when for the most part he's played better on the wing. I wonder which other welsh teams are in need of a full back?

13 is a glaring hole in the O's team at the moment, though Watkin is the answer if they want to be true to their daft slogan.
Amos is no doubt undeservingly on the radar of the two city clubs I would have thought.

It certainly is. I thought it would have been a better idea to try and keep old of Englebrecht whilst brining Watkin through because at this point, it looks highly likely that Watkin has a future in professional rugby.
Ah I get it. Amos needs to be wearing blue (he doesn't need to play well, like he usually is) to be considered for team Wales.

You really have to laugh at some of this drivel, to think I've been accused of giving SNIDE remarks about the Dregs on numerous occasions by a number on here and one in particular, all this talk just because one normally uselessly informed tweeter, said it was a rumour and the usual suspects take it as gospel.
IF it is true, which I very much doubt, who can blame the lads (Morgan and Amos) as has been shown on numerous occasions in the past, they will only get better if they join THE ONE TRUE REGION.

Re: Gwent Dragons 2015/16 thread
Just managed to catch up on the game on I Player.
Very proud of that performance, most please by our attack and desire to get the ball in to the wide channels. Our front five were brilliant in the loose with Dee showing how poor a coaching decision it has been to have TRT starting over him.
If Angus O'Brien can cut out his erratic kicking and improve his defence, he will be a very good professional player. He holds his depth and attacks the line with more pace than most other Welsh 10's which makes him very hard to defend against and also holds the defensive line (which is why Hewitt had so much space on Friday).
Warren and Hughes are competent centres, Meyer improves with every game and Ashton had another very very good game.
There was a conscious effort to run rather than kick ball away which was refreshing - why can't we do this every week?
Leon Brown is only 19 and has another year at u20's where as Dillon Lewis is playing regular rugby for the Blues. Leon's time will come.
Also, from watching the 20's match I have come to the opinion that Keddie won't make the grade at senior level - hope I am wrong

Who's gone to Ospreys and improved? I don't recall. By the way the supposed reason that Lydiate went to you was to 'win trophies' - going really well so far! Stop attention seeking, your turd isn't wanted or needed in here and it's already bad enough with Dai and Phil bonehead.

Dan Evans has clearly improved.
You do seem to have a number of issues. What's that all about?

He'll probably start Friday, we use the six nations to try out all the players before the JWC, so I'd think a lot of last years under 18s will start seeing as it's a home game.

IF it is true, which I very much doubt, who can blame the lads (Morgan and Amos) as has been shown on numerous occasions in the past, they will only get better if they join THE ONE TRUE REGION.
Who's gone to Ospreys and improved? I don't recall. By the way the supposed reason that Lydiate went to you was to 'win trophies' - going really well so far! Stop attention seeking, your turd isn't wanted or needed in here and it's already bad enough with Dai and Phil bonehead.
Me?
Yeah you!
I blydi knew it.

Dan Evans has clearly improved.
You do seem to have a number of issues. What's that all about?
He improved, with us. Still suffers with form dips too often (but too a much lesser extent nowdays) so it looks as if he's the same player. I don't recall any others. Bearman was also in good form before he joined in case you also thought of bringing him up.

Also, from watching the 20's match I have come to the opinion that Keddie won't make the grade at senior level - hope I am wrong
I didn't know he was younger than most of the others. So refreshing to see us finally produce what looks like a good prop!
I thought Keddie was alright, but he's probably one of a few that won't make it. I remember Ieuan Jones, I thought he was going to be a star. Seems to have vanished now. Injured again?

Yawn. Care to name these players btw? Phil was wrong on Dan Evans, but at least he tried.

Ah, so he achieved these kind of stats at that level for the NGD http://www.southwales-eveningpost.co.uk/Dan-Evans-Ospreys-player-just-want-region/story-28409427-detail/story.html ?
Or are you just bluffing?
