With England now being "OUT" OF THE RUGBY WORLD CUP. They clearly have nothing too lose.
SO all the players in the 31 who have not played a game yet should be given their chance.
The likes of Danny Care starting at 9 and Wigglworth on the bench.
Easter and Kruse, Slade etc etc.
what do you think.
What have they got too lose?
Nothing.

I'm worried about the Uruguay's front row causing us problems after watching last nights game?

Re: England v Uruguay
After last night's game.... well, they'll be tired obviously. But that performance will have boosted their mood and have given them belief that they can hold off a monstrous, pacey and inventive team running at them. They lost big time of course but put up a much better physical and creative battle than most people expected.
So...all in all, England will slaughter them, the poor divils. It'll be like Japan facing Scotland after South Africa. There'll be a degree of will, but emotionally, they'll have had it.

Calling England minnows is a little pathetic from a supporter of a side that can't beat NZ.

Re: England v Uruguay
I thought so too at first, but then I remembered England failed to get out of the group stages, so they're currently on the same level as all the other minnows who didn't make it past the group stages. Never mind, you can still continue your latching on to anything playing against Wales.

Re: England v Uruguay
I have to admit I am rather confused as to why England feel the need to pick 3 FH's in this game. I'm all for taking pressure off Ford but I think he can handle himself against a bunch of amateurs, especially as some of them would look small turning up in the London leagues.
That said I enjoyed Uruguay's commitment last night and loved it that they scored a few tries of their own. I can't really bring myself to cheer for England in this one to be honest, lets just win and then sneak off out of the limelight.

At the end of the day Wales shouldn't have been in this group, but seeing as they yo-yo up and down the IRB rankings it was always a possibility it could happen sooner or later.

It's a common theme, just ask Australia and South Africa. Plus those three teams aren't really minnows are they, unlike the two teams in this match thread title - dead rubber .

It's not our fault that they seed the groups 4 years in advance, but you don't really need an excuse to have a go at Wales now do you.

Its a bit of a joke that England appear not to trust Ford at 10 without another FH outside him for a game like this.

Its Wales's fault for the groupings as we had 16 on the Lions tour, rested 10 more and sent a bunch of kids to the mighty Japan and drew the series 1-1 - when considering SA's performance - not a bad development tour.
And do us a favour, if you're going to have some digs before we get shafted in this years RWC can you up your ante a bit as these are pretty lame efforts

I have reported that to mods since it is a WUM, adds nothing to the boards and has only been said to antagonize. Mikey your team won and not by much I should add. You can surely carry yourself with a bit more dignity amd humility in victory.
English rugby is clearly hurting and that sort of comment is pointless.

Oh come on Radge, I was just playing around, no need to have a run to the teacher attitude! I guess you missed the antagonistic comments from Englanders in the weeks building up to that game. Anyway I'm sure it'll all blow over once we lose to Australia.

Was about to red pen but this pretty much sums up what I was going to say.
Mikey_dragon - I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that you are just being tongue in cheek, but your repeated comments pretty much saying the same thing are become grating and are serving no purpose on what is meant to be a match thread.
And this is coming from a Scotsman!

No I didn't I saw that too. But come on. Can't we actually debate the game like adults instead of WUMming and baiting each other. The bickering between Wales and England has reached epic proportions. From what I see both are as bad as each other. At least other WUMs have been a wee bit more inventive.
I like debate not squabbling. Perhaps if you didn't act like a child, "running to teacher" wouldn't be necessary.

Erm, just as a side note being of the opinion that England were afforded advantages as the host nation isn't wumming . They were clearly listed for you.
As for this match, are those changes wise? Goode for example, never really rated him. Shouldn't Watson be given a run in that position as I understand he used to be a 15? Can't really argue with many others, as England need to have an eye on the 6 Nations and how the team might look by then.

I'm a Welsh fan and even I'm getting a little embarrassed by all of the pointless gloating. If you make a genuine joke, that most impartial posters would consider has humour in it, and it is responded to in a personal way, then just leave it. As our Nige would say "This isn't soccer"

Re: England v Uruguay
Has the Uruguay Team been named yet? Will look something like:
1) A plumber
2) A lawyer
3) Student
4) Agronomist
5) communications worker
6) Teacher
7) Student whose dad was in that famous plane crash
8) Banker
9) hair dresser
10) Internet millionaire
11) Student
12) Ad man
13) PR Executive
14) student
15) A pro in France D2
A squad who have had in the main to take unpaid leave for the WC, some who may not have a job when they return - yet the spirit they showed against Fiji was fantastic. The pampered pros of several teams should look at the Uruguayans and Namibians and learn.

Re: England v Uruguay
What I cannot understand and find so frustrating is the inclusion of Slade and Nowell in the squad (not that I think they are not worth the spot), but then to completely ignore the two utility players in favour of playing players out of position and leaving the bench devoid of options if we get an injury. If they could not be trusted to do the job, they should not be there, players with some experience like Burrell and Cipriani could have been included.
Muddled Fu!!ed up thinking, that has no basis in logic and shows the limitations of their intellect.
Now against Uruguay, we play Goode at 15 when we could be giving Watson a shot, gaining more experience. We pick Youngs at 2 instead of giving George experience, Parling at 4 - Kruis, again experience, Cole - Wilson who hasn't had a run out yet and then Care and Ford who are very exciting, but will never get picked for a 6N match as they are too lightweight and with Farrell at 13. Care / Farrell- good blend, Youngs /Ford - good blend, Youngs / Farrell too stodgy and slow. It would have been the ideal time to see how Slade plays at 12 with JJ outside.
If I was playing against a Youngs / Ford or Care / Farrell - Nowell -Slade - JJ - Watson backline, I would be very apprehensive.
Just another example of muddled thinking and "oh lets give the other boys a run out". It is another chance wasted, not a lets be friends after I have gone opportunity.
Muddled Fu!!ed up thinking, that has no basis in logic and shows the limitations of their intellect.
Now against Uruguay, we play Goode at 15 when we could be giving Watson a shot, gaining more experience. If some of the rumors we've heard during the week are to be believed that might not the worst thing in the world!

All the players that are in the team this week would not of got any game at all if the team was going into the next round.
Why oh Why is Owen Farrell in the team? again?
I guess if your father is one of the coaches you will all ways be in the team come what may.
It is supposed to be a 31 man squad after all. but why wait untill it is too late to give every other player game time?

I suppose the big question is do England think they can win this game?

That, even in the face of stern opposition, is surely the most pathetic thing ever posted on here.
What else can you do? You need to have a target. There's no point sulking and limping out of the tournament, England need to put in a ruthless, clinical performance. There's 40 games before our next World Cup game, we'll have plenty of opportunities to give other guys a game, but right now it's about fixing a bit of hurt. No, it won't make up for going out in the pool stages, but what's done is done and England still have a game to play. It shouldn't have a post-season friendly feel, throwing fringe players in for the sake of it. It is still a capped game of international rugby after all.
