Nacho is a quality forward, I'd have him over the likes of Sterling and Navas starting.

The Brazilian kid they've signed looks a player too, if you can judge by the standard of the olympics...

I'd have anyone over Navas. Poster boy for overrating foreign players just because they're from Spain or Germany.
Sterlings had a very good start.

Navas doesnt and hasnt suited City at any point, as well as a player who openly doesnt like being away from home. Needs to be allowed to go back

Foster makes a world class save, but Barry scores from resulting corner. 1-2 to Everton

Not sure Andre Gray was a diamond in the rough but yes.
For Hull, its been a great start, still in deep trouble for my money if they don't reinforce. Once the early season boost wears off and their players are worn down by the lack of replacements, think reality will bite.

That has to be a more than a 5000 -1 punt for Hull to win / get in the top four this season.Ent wrote:Hull, no owners, no manager, no players -6 points.

Have been impressed with Guardiola & Man City as well as old man Ibrahimovic and Man Utd (they are benefiting from Mourinho's incisiveness - he just seems to know what is needed to get a team to the top). City & Utd look to be the leading contenders this season. Chelsea look to be back threatening with their new manager Conti - so maybe Man City, Man Utd and Chelsea will finish top three. Arsenal are the same old same old. Good but lacking cutting edge and consistency. Everton will probably be a lot better under Koeman. Spurs seem to be as good as last year, but other teams are better. Liverpool have defensive issues.

Arsenal without question should be leaving with 0 points from that game, the ref saved them.

Re: 5000-1 - The 2016/17 Premier League thread
Embarrassing result. Whilst Moreno played poorly against Arsenal, this kind of game is exactly the kind he was needed in, no width meant no real chance of stretching Burnley. Conceding the early goal was the main problem, allowed Burnley to sit back completely. Defence wasn't really all that bad Burnley had three shots on goal all game, it was breaking down a parked bus that was the issue. It has been an issue for a while now.
Can't help but feel Klopp is making a lot of avoidable mistakes, playing players out of position, not securing full back cover - I hope he recognises them before the end of the window. HAVE to sign a new full back.

I don't see Wijnaldum working at all, on the left of a central three. Especially with Milner at LB, that makes that side of the field just look very odd

Re: 5000-1 - The 2016/17 Premier League thread
Very much so, should of been a second red and then a penalty. Wenger tried to insinuate that Musa took a dive.Hero wrote:Arsenal without question should be leaving with 0 points from that game, the ref saved them.
Did you see his comments about that he wants to make sure that the 600 employers get paid instead of buying a striker. He makes it sound like Arsenal are on the brink of being bankrupt.

Murphy (I think, TV is quiet) was right about Liverpool's playing out from the back. No variety, and without variety you're always likely to get exposed playing around.
Sterling definitely not a penalty, but kind of made up for the howler the ref missed earlier.

Think at least partly its not helped that none of them (including Henderson) are actually that good at it.

Yeah, I think that was half the point though. Barca and Bayern, youve got some of the best players in the world. Liverpool dont.
Chelsea with an inspired and motivated Costa will push for the title. And also shows an approach for Lukaku is unnecessary

Ultimately it is kinda a pointless add on, but Brazil needed that.

No, it's pretty much a glorified U-23 tournament. Brazil are languishing in the WC qualifying, so it might give them a kick up the backside to start delivering now. As for Neymar, he definitely needed this, seeing as he'd won nothing with Brazil, prior to last night.

Germany were unlucky in the final. The whole nation and the referee were against them.
