Well done Wales.
To continue to kick when we are losing the aerial battle is braindead.

That is indeed the game. Wales have stepped it up in the last 20 minutes, but this is the worst half of rugby England have put together in about a year.

Daly v Williams has been the big difference today. Williams has took everything thrown at him, outstanding display.

England just didn't produce their usually good last twenty minutes today. Back to the drawing board...

Excellent change, Anscombe was doing nothing. England's bench has, surprisingly, made zero impact.

Difficult to make a difference when you keep kicking the ball away - still a good wake up call that you can't stick blindly to one tactic

Good win for the boyos, definitely deserved. Bit of an odd game plan from us today, still think we'll win the tournament but that's a big blow.

I'm still getting over that try. Fingertip stuff.
Adams could so easily have fumbled it; then to have just enough momentum to get the ball across the line. Spectacular!
Well done Wales. That was definitely worth getting up for. Good luck in the remaining 2 matches.

England were poor in second in comparison to the first half.

That daft kick at the end of the 1st half when in a good position summed it up for me - if they'd kept hold of the ball there and maybe scored it would have been a whole different ball game. Instead they just kept kicking it away rather than keep the pressure on. Stupid tactic especially when you have LW on the other side who doesn't miss much.

Gatland roped a dope there. At half time all the pundits saying about Wales being too narrow, but I think Gatland conditioned England. Bravo. Everything Gatland said pre game was spot on. Sinckler lost his head. The traffic caught England. Man is a genius.

I’ll worry about both games. As AWJ said, they’ll respect a hurting Scotland up there.
Classless by Eddie there, ref bashing. Gained three points off a non penalty. Gained a no arms pen and didn’t concede one. Poor show.

Great result for Wales. Could see them doing the old heave ho on England with some off the cuff magic once they got through that first quarter when England want to shock and awe you out of the game psychologically. It's a weird feeling supporting Wales. .... I can see the weaknesses more but also I trust the lads to push the intensity right to the end - Wales never let their fans down on that front.
Well, well.... hopefully that opens up some possibilities for another game of Big Meaning right on the last day. But congratulations to the Welsh posters here,. A great display of in-your-face defiance... which is exactly the 'tactic' needed to compete with this England side.

Good win for Wales. I think they did their homework well and shut down England's game plan well. A bit like England did to Ireland. Great championship this year.

Not the ref just the bounce in general. These things happen.

England's game plan so far has relied a bit on bad fielding in the back field. Williams was definitely a different proposition today. Very hard to beat this Wales team in the air.
Jees the Wales 12 is really slow though. Who was that?

No 7&1/2 wrote:They do need to have that in their mind miaow if only to prepare for the WC. I perhaps in the minority though Lancaster did a good job but he didn't prepare the team for bps in the world cup. Need to ensure you know what you need to do.
Interesting point. Ultimately England have been good at getting the BPs, albeit Ireland nearly gifted them one, and I still maintain, if Wales are to win the title this year they will have to win every game.
I don't see them losing to Ireland with a BP, beating Scotland with a BP win (i.e. 2 possible BPs to finish with 18 points) and England then winning their two remaining games without a BP (18 points), where Wales still win through points difference.
As for the RWC, perhaps this loss and the remainder of the tournmanet might prepare them well - let's say Fra/Arg/Eng all win one and lose one against the other, it's then BPs and PD that decides who wins it.

Farrell is the stand out 10 so far surely. At least Curry is about to gain some plaudits from the guys who don't pay attention normally.

See you on the other side.
He looked quality. Not sure he's and out and out fetcher like Pocock, nor has the skills like a Tipuric or Hooper, but as an aggressive battler at the tackle and ruck he looks decent - also got away with hands on the floor to turn a ball over, so that has to be a good omen for him. Underhill to 6 with Curry at 7? Does that work?

2 comments in quick succession about the ref. One English one Welsh. Think that says it all - thought Peyper reffed well. Shocking call on Tipuric's tackle but that was the TMO, he can only go on what he's told. By and large, he allowed both teams to contest the ball and also gave them time to retain it. I don't think he favoured either, particularly as it was, by and large, a slow gruelling and narrow game.
So he came close to a shocker with Tipuric but that was about a bad as it got. Also shut down the off the ball stuff (shocking from England to let that get to them) and that helped - the players then policed themselves.
