The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the Tommy Bowe photo on the bar. That's a banning offence
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
I am good but feeling like a ball of tension - I have a final interview for a job on Thursday. Between me and another candidate.
I was made redundant and have been out of work for over a year now. Which is why I set up my own training company to keep myself busy (high quality at a low cost for those who need training).
This will be my 5th job that I have got down to the final interview. I really want this job and its making my insides feel like they are at a party with Amy Winehouse, Pete Doherty and George Michael.

What's the story with your contract Notts? I read back and you said it wasnt renewed. Cutbacks? I am starting to look for a contract again. It's not good out there man. But, you know that already.
Im thinking India and some "tax-advantage". Phhok it. They took ours. Let's take some back. I have an Indian mate who is searching for me. Rates are fairly good.
Gibbo, they're spending around £300M to implement SAP, but it appears that they're outsourcing, as to be honest, the infrastructure they've implemented so far is rudey poo. No startup/shutdown scripts. Cold OS backups. A load of rudey poo from start to end. I was last in and they're scaling back their testing, so one of the first out
Jayz man. How much money do these directionless idiots waste? How much have I seen of that? Worked for ABN-AMRO - even bigger than Rabo -of PRO12 fame. They wasted near a 100 million, on a project and then shelved it. If only the public knew what they do with their money. Place was a joke, run by gobshoite Project Leaders - some straight out of Uni. Bless em. They will use bits of it in the future in other Projects. Still.
SAP is good business for us. Its huge.

Evening all
please.
Back to work tomorrow, been a weird day today. Can't remember the last time I was home on my own and must confess that it was a bit crabby and I didn't like it much, the house was far to quiet, not like normal at all.
please.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
for you Pete.
I can't imagine how strange it must be to live in such a full house hold and then have a day all to yourself.
Think my parents have the opposite feeling now, they're used to so much peace and quiet then have to put up with weekends of noise and bustle when I go home!

It's difficult to say with any certainty without being in the situation ones self. Big thing that struck me though is the certainty with which he did it. No hesitation. Hasn't changed Pratchett's mind at least...

Should something like this be shown on TV as far as I'm concerned it's all rather morbid 9pm is far too early for such a program.

It's an important issue for society to deal with. If I was in that situation, terminally ill, I'd want the dignity of being able to chose my time and place

Yeah but Pete... You just love the "madness" that comes with having 4 x girlies in yer house. Very few men could handle that. You do - with aplomb. And no end of care, attention and love. I think it's what's called being a REAL man. Everybody, who has had the pleasure to meet you and know you on here - knows that about you.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Getting Pratchett to present it was an excellent idea. Not sure which side I come down on. I can see the 'merits' (although that seems a horrible word to use in this context) when one is older like that guy was. But for someone young and perhaps with a partner or children the decision surely becomes more difficult. Not wanting to be a burden on one's partner is fine, but letting your children grow up without a parent must be an incredible choice to make.

Its legal, to die with grace in NL. I watched 2 close friends say goodbye that way. It was beautiful. I cried. But.. its what they wanted.
Religion and the Law, get in the way of a persons inner-dignity sometimes.
I wont go on. But, some religions will argue with this concept. But people, who dont believe in religion and want it - should not be deprived of it. As should people who have religion and still want it.
