Thanks for the kind thoughts. The thing is, if it works out it should be a terrific job (and a lovely thing to have on the CV) but if it doesn't then there will be something else. Freelancing, meaning in practice a few weeks of intense work followed by time off, will suit me just fine (as long as the work comes in).

Pretty much, you had to queue and leave by the same narrow corridor, which as you can imagine, chips, peas and gravy open, plus drunk people, plus narrow space...
Though it did have an indoor seating area which I though was posh as f**k when I was young, and aspired to be able to eat in there.

Pretzel update, I dipped it in Spicy Goan Soup, nothing exotic here, it was Ainsley's cup a soup range, though worked ok.

We owe so much to innovators like Rick.
If you'd asked me before today whether a pretzel could work with a cup a soup I would surely have said 'don't be daft man, it can not be done'.

Although rICk has been softened over the years (eating a pretzel alone is nearly worthy of losing his Man of the North badge) he always redeems himself somehow.
Dipping it in soup is good. Dipping it in a cup a soup is next level thriftiness.

This northern thriftiness rubs off on me from time to time. Yesterday I refused to buy a bag of Doritios in the Co-op as it was 95p. I swore at the shelf (under my breath) as well and said 'grab bag my arse'.
Doesn't seem like that long ago it was 40p.

It is people like you that won't acquiesce to societies inequalities and inequities that make me proud of this country, Galted.

Thanks, guys, follow me for more cost of living food tips.
Me and Mrs Dagless had a brief rant the other day that a "Grab Bag" is now just a normal bag, seems to have snuck under the radar with all the small Wagon Wheels and the price of Freddos.

Cheese. I make nachos occasionally and can get a big bag of the spicy ones for about £1.25 or £1.50 but 95p for a normal bag is a rip-off.

I'm assuming the price of a Freddo is next on Liz's list to sort out after energy prices. It can't carry on like this much longer.
