How are things down in the SE corner of our flat earth?
Getting warmer but a there was bit of a gale blowing this afternoon.
Check out this eastern water dragon. Nice long tail. It was pretty relaxed when it posed for the photo.

That's a good-looking lizard, very thoughtful of it to pose.
Saw what I thought was a serval in the dark on my brother's webcam in the early hours of Saturday. Very excitedly posted about it on his whatsapp group but when he reviewed the footage it turned out to be an african wild cat, so I had to endure an inordinate amount of mockery. Think I might dangle our cat over the balcony to teach the c*nts a lesson.

Are servals the ones that can jump really high? Or the caracal? That would have been great. I suppose the african wild cats must have a hard time. They look like a domesticated cat gone feral in the wild.
We get quite a lot wild feral cats out in the west. Some on the fringes of cities. A lot get shot... or trapped then shot.
Every now and then we get reports of a 'panther' sighting but it's probably only someone's black house cat (on steroids) that's gone walkabout.

We get the panther stories here too. Always a blurry photo and always blatantly f*cking obvious that it's a house cat.

Not so bad, champ. Business has picked up today as a couple of rival dressmakers have mysteriously shut down.
You been back to the Motherland recently? I am popping up there in December to see some family and a couple of mates (not Captain Poofinger).

Not for a month or two, and I have both of the rents up at xmas so who knows, though traditionally my oldest childhood friend an myself normally try and hook up over xmas (he lives in Ireland now) so with any luck I will get over.
I thoroughly miss the motherland, until the point when I have to spend more than a day or two there.

Also finding it a massive struggle to give a toss. I think it's because it's disrupting the domestic season rather than keeping me occupied in the off-season, just feels like a series of pointless friendlies. Hopefully that'll change at some stage, otherwise it's a waste of a world cup.
Did have to admire the stunning and brave stand the teams took with their armbands until they were threatened with a yellow card.

I've just written my letter of apology to the descendants of the Hittites... but then realised The Great Broken Pot Incident occurred c. 1725 BC which falls outside the 3000-year Guilt Zone by about 747 years.
Too late. Emails are so quick and irretrievable aren't they?

Indeed. Africa, Europe and Asia too. Not sure about the Americas though.
I'm already donating some old clothes I was going to throw out as my own personal Reparation but I've been informed that the clothes in the local collection bins end up in Ghana anyway.
Now I feel fully vindicated of any guilt whatsoever and the problems of my past descendants have been completely absolved. You bloody beauty!
I can now start living again. It feels so good. Suggest you all do the same and donate some old clothes too. You won't miss them, I guarantee.
Then maybe we can meet up for a drink one day and share some of our new-found freedom, peace, love and joy in a totally guilt-free way.

So if Argentina lose there could be some unsavoury behaviour from their over-emotional fans around the souks and in some 5-star hotel lobbies.
So I hope the Pope chooses his words wisely (post-match) and doesn't incite any more inflammatory reaction from FIFA. This shock result could drag us into a 10th Crusade if he's not careful.

Disgraceful scenes after the France v Australia game. Although that young French kid probably shouldn't goad a bunch of angry Aussies when you're about 25 stone. He ain't running anywhere.
Which one do we think was Pee Jay? I'm going for the guy with the mullet who stole the flag off Pierre and Rene.

Completely missed it. What happened? Hope the local authorities catch the guy who stole the flag and make an example of him.
You'd be wrong about the mullet. Although I did go through a 70s hair reboot phase during a few months of the Covid restrictions on barbers.
I've progressed to a late 90s early 2000s look now... whatever that is.

Essentially 2 French kids, one of which looked like he'd eaten the whole patisserie, were giving some sh*t to a load of Aussie fans post game who basically duffed them up.
I wouldn't be too harsh on the Aussie who stole the flag. The French pair deserved it. Mainly for being French but also for winning without showing any dignity (also part of being French).

Just saw bits of it, Tino. Federation Square is in Melbourne. Yes, it's a bit more feral down there. Bunch of c*nts. Just ask alfie.
I'll take your word for it, Pee Jay. alfie doesn't talk to me anymore. Think I upset him on the cricket thread. He'll come round one day.

Completely missed it. What happened? Hope the local authorities catch the guy who stole the flag and make an example of him.
Essentially 2 French kids, one of which looked like he'd eaten the whole patisserie, were giving some sh*t to a load of Aussie fans post game who basically duffed them up.

I enjoyed the fist goal and the shot from outside the box but apart from that it was a typical shaky Aussie effort.
They are always too slow to get the ball back up the field from the goalkeeper pass... you can see danger coming from a mile off. They're far too slow and are always backing themselves into a corner. That was meat for the French.
I'm no expert on football but surely you'd need to just get the ball back upfield more quickly (even with a long 50:50 kick) rather than getting pinned back in your own defensive zone in the goal scoring danger area for the Frogs?
I think Denmark will slay them as well. Unless the Crown Princess Mary orders the Danes to go easy on us.
As for Tunisia... they'll probably struggle against them too.

Terrible defending from the French full back for your goal.
But yes, they tried to be too fancy at the back. Nothing wrong with a boot up the pitch. They were very passive as well against a decent French team. Should have rattled them a bit more like Superfly's Sunday league team. Turned into a bit more of an Aussie rules game.
Tunisia looked half decent. Sadly for you, I think they'll both turn you over.

Yes, the words I'm looking for are precision, urgency and speed on the ball... although that last one is 3 words I know.
Agree, the only way to keep the pressure on would have been to be a little more physical but that always ends up in tears and yellow and red cards.
And then it would have been maybe 8-10 goals for that French side even with a few of their big names missing. So I'd probably take the 4-1
I was listening to the Tunisia-Denmark game half asleep. They kept mentioning one of their backs. A bit of a tough character who marshalled the troops it seemed. That's what the Argies lacked at the back in their match - a Daniel Passarella type figure who'd always put his body on the line... so to speak.
