For some reason I saw some material on 'recently shared images' on this site. It was kind of disturbing, especially all of the female wrestling stuff.

Weirdly, I stumbled across that recently, is it a new feature?
Similarly, I backed out of there pretty quickly, wonder if anyone saw Galts "beauty of the day" shares, and had the same idea?

Unmichaelsing fist.
Morning Rick and Galts.
Them there bin chickens (aka ibis) have almost reached plague proportions here. Can't remember ever seeing one until about 10 years ago. Now they're all over the place. They've learned to hang out in the loading docks of supermarkets... waiting for the trucks to come and go. There are large clusters of nests all over the place now. One nest is about 70m from me here - a couple of houses away. I can hear them carrying on at dawn and dusk. One even comes right up to my window (about 3 m away from where I'm typing) and taps on the glass with his long beak. Then turns his back on me and takes a few scoops of water out of the pool. They have got funny faces. You never know if they're looking directly at you... but they are.
I don't mind them if they're scavenging on cane toads... which are mostly up north... but now the toads are slowly heading south. It must be something to do with climate. The ibis are supposed to flock back inland (to the large pools of desert wetlands at the right time of year) but they have instead decided to stay in the cities because of lack of water during the drought years and easy access to junk food. The last two years however, there have been record rains inland... so those with 'the memory' have gone back there but the younger ones who've never known anything except city life are not programmed or taught by their elders what they should be doing or where they should be going. It's quite sad actually...
The downside of all of this, of course, is more 'bin chicken' road kill. They often get run over in the middle of the road. They are not quick on their feet like the other smaller birds. In fact, the other day when I walked down to the shops, I saw one standing in the middle of the road... looking a bit lost and unsure where the nearest bin was. Then about 15 minutes later, on my way back, it had been struck by a car. At first I thought it was a cluster of white plastic bags, but I then saw the red blood amongst the tangled feathers. Poor thing was out there for most of the day before some good citizen gave it a half decent burial... in a large plastic rubbish bin most likely.

Cheers, PJ, the sad ibis story has ruined my weekend. Think you've qualified to direct the Aussie version of March of the Penguins - the Dithering of the Bin Chickens.

It's not all bad. At least some of them get more choice of fast food and the luckier ones maybe get a harbour outlook thrown into the bargain.
Can you spot the bin chicken in any of these 3 photos? Is it conspicuous or not?

It's a bit less sad imagining the poor bugger being flattened by a car after seeing the photo.

Watched an episode of Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps on the weekend. Haven't seen it for at least 15 years and don't remember it being set in Runcorn or being so unfunny.

Lineker is the biggest c*nt of them all. At least McCoist and Hartson know they are thick. Lineker thinks he is some modern f*cking philosopher. I'd like a straightener with that smug tw*t.
