First topic message reminder :

Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the Tommy Bowe photo on the bar. That's a banning offence

So pull up a chair....what'll it be? appletini

ha. lads, it will be more Mickado that will take offense to your blantent wumming against your Nations Capital.. as I haven't been a big GAA fan the last 4-5 years.

However, yeh Munsty we will go with that original bet..

Thom, I will shy away from that bet if you don't mind. it would be a tough ask

Was the original bet a tenner? I'm certainly not giving you a tenor anyway.

Rava,

A pint on it for the next time we meet?

Dublin will win Sam again, just not this year,or next year ,or the year after thst and the year after that.

Micky everyone knows that Cork's the real capital. The only reason why we're arrogant langers is because we're the biggest and the best.

A tenner is worth 10 euro.
A tenor is a singer who’s probably worth a lot more.

Yep Mick, I had that bet on with sparks alright. And he lost because she admitted that she was a man, but then took it back. But the bet was just that she’d admit publicly she had a knob, not that it had to be true. He didn’t pay up though. shockin.

A) people the other side of the border ran away to Wales in the 18th and early 19th centrury to escape the debtors prison. Wales, at that time, being predominently rural - to go Welsh on a debt
C) the then Prince of Wales (sic), who became George IV, had an extravagant lifestyle which at times meant he could not pay debtors

Afternoon all,

Happy days today, the sun is shining, I got a lot of the morning off work waiting for my new laptop to arrive, and I've just had a brilliant weekend.

The new restaurant in Llanelli, Sospan, as set up by Dwayne Peel and Stephen Jones is really, really brilliant. You can tell a lot of money and work has been put into it.The building is a redeveloped old pump house in the North Docks of Llanelli, stunning building.

Got some lovely beers on tap (including this ale from Ponty, but stupid my didn't get the name of it Sad).

The food is gorgeous, and ALL the meat used is from Wales (as it should be!). It's just really lovely there.

And one thing that made me smile is that the toilets aren't labelled Ladies and Gents, but Meri-Ann and Johni Bach (the names from in the song Sospan Fach that the Scarlets sing).

I loved it, would recommend it to anyone, even if it is a bit out of the way!

It is amazing Ona.. I had an amuse bouche of one in place in Las Vegas.

it was the nicest thing I have tasted in a long time.. Couldn't afford one of course. as it was we had stumbled into an expensive place and 4 steak and chips with 2 bottles of heniken and 2 glasses of water and the whole lot cost $570. Now it was amazing and we were all dressed fancy as we were going to see Cirque de Soliel but still that was silly money for 4 mains courses

It wasn't Kobe beef I had but the Australian equivalent. I had it in Switzerland when I went to stay with this family in Gstaad. There was nothing else on the menu that I liked and this comfortably the most expensive but the father said it wasn't a problem. It cost something like €275. Absolutely gorgeous. Couldn't finish it either as they gave loads and it was really filling. The father told me not to hurt my stomach and leave it be. Also had caviar at that meal. Think the whole meal cost around €700.

Interesting to enter that world but I don't think it would be somewhere I feel overly comfortable in.
