First topic message reminder :

Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the Tommy Bowe photo on the bar. That's a banning offence

So pull up a chair....what'll it be? appletini

I have done Thomond. Come up to Limerick though and I think you'll find you have some serious competition.

Some of our boys should consider a calendar girls/stade francais tribute calendar for charity. Might be worth advertising with a few of these photos to give the xx chromosome population a bit of a boost at Ravenhill next season.

Yeah if Connacht can do one...so should you!

I used to order my steaks well done because that's how my dad had his. But now I'm a medium-rare man. Just so much more succulent...

These ham and mustard sandwiches are quite disappointing now.

I've moved on from well done to medium Lucky, but think that's as far as I can go!

ah man I want the day to speed up so I can go home and set up my new laptop, going to be busy for a while trying to transfer everything over to it from my old one.

How are you going to move it all over ?

I've been a medium rare man for years. I was in NZ a few years back and one of the women on the tour was saying she'd had her steak well done the night before. I asked her to try it medium rare. A couple of days alter she did have it medium rare and said she was now converted.

erm, tis a make called Compaq. Couldn't tell you much more then that!

I got really fed up with searching for one, and this one looks decent, had good reviews from customers and was on sale so I bought it. Used the same method of choosing to purchase my old laptop and that's served me well for 6 years so fingers crossed this one does too Smile

Nottins - cd mostly I guess, got loads of my writing saved to disk already so will do it that way. To be fair I've got a load of rubbish on my old lap top that I probably won't move over, it shall be a nice cleansing exercise.

Far quicker to do it via your network. On your old laptop, double click on my computer, right click on your C: drive and then properties, click on the Sharing tab and tick the "share this folder on the nework" box and give it a name (eg. oldlaptop_c) in the box below, then OK everything. On the new laptop click on Network and you should see you old laptop listed along with the shared c: drive. Then just copy and paste files as you would locally. If you have more than one partition on your laptop then just share them as described for your c: drive, but with different names.

Shocked

....

I may, or may not attempt that. Me and techonology don't really go that well together so I don't want to risk accidently deleting everything off my hard drive (I've done that before, and my cousin who is brilliant with computers could never figure out how I did it). Doing it by CD or something might be a safer option for me.

If you just use CTRL-C to copy instead of CTRL-X (cut) and then CTRL-V to paste , then you won't delete anything. Also, both laptops will ask if you are going to delete things.

Back from the cardiologist, having passed by the cash and carry to pick up 100 litres of beer for in a fortnight's time, and also a third marquee(it hasn't stopped raining here since Kia and Mell left https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-lUBlbJkrQ)

Anyway, I don't know if the doc has taken a dislike to me, but he doesn't want to see me til next year Yahoo

I may have to do a cardio-rehab session for 3 weeks, but that's up to my GP(who will be at The Bash) to decide.

dreamer,
Being a techno know no, can't you just keep all your uni stuff on your old/outdated/saturated laptop, in a hermetically sealed plastic bag?

100 litres is the draught stuff, there will probably be a few bottles;and then there's the rest.....

'Sticks' are relative inexpensive (plus you've got another form of backup) 8GB for just over £20, let me know if you want me to have a 'butchers' at your lap top to check for you OK

Bloody hell Pete, you're paying well over the top for your computer hardware. I got a SanDisk 8GB USB stick for less than £15 around 2 years ago.

Here's a 16GB one: http://www.7dayshop.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=777_6&products_id=108312
