The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the Tommy Bowe photo on the bar. That's a banning offence
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

BLUES !!!
Sorry Penfro...
Yes, Cardiff Blues. As they still call themselves! That would be great craic actually, if we can persuade any other posters to join us! An open invitation extended.
I won’t go unless I’m invited specifically.
Could be a runner though lads. What was the plan, off to Standulsterman’s pub for the game?
You're invited specifically
I think thats what we talked about indeed!

Have you seen our fixtures ? Radical shake up of the division - 5 'new' teams including 2 we've never played before as far as I know - Aberbargoed and Crickhowell (other new teams are Wick, Cefn Fforest and CIACS)

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
I have, with some foresight, booked that Saturday off work (too be able to watch the game regardless). So IF there is enough interest I will happily act as tour guide/host. I can probably only put up one or at the very most two people in my pretty small flat, there isn't much space, but I could easily check out hotels/hostels.
There is actually a hostel directly across the road from me, so that part will be easy.
The game against Cardiff will hopefully be on Friday night, if not then it will be Saturday night- I honestly can't remember the last Sunday game we've had outside of the HC.
Up to you guys really.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Cheers Cari and Rav for the wishes.
Penfro, I'm a valley boy, Bach. Can't be expected to find my way round the big cities. Oh and I told you a story about Cefn Forest last season where they came to fight and the ref agreed to a no sin binning and offending players get sub ed instead.
So the Amlin draw is no good for me really in that both Exeter games are when I'm away. Hopefully the LV game down there is October, so I'll be alright for that.
Just in Montreal awaiting my connection. Long day. Anyway, off I pop.

Yeah, we played them in the old Worthington Cup a few years ago and they really wanted to take on the 'city slickers'. Shame about the way the Exeter fixtures worked out for you, stay save mate

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Chef,
Pity I aren't staying. Though as it stands I'm at the gate and I have no aircraft. A night here would suit me just fine, then I'll have a look for that. Nice on the old jam tart too
Cari, cheers again.
Penfro, not surprised really. I did expect it. Sure I can just do a Chiefs game with As some other time otherwise.
Off again. Seems to be some handlers waiting, so perhaps I will make Calgary.

Glas, Blessington is the site of the biggest manmade lake in Ireland. Pollaphuca Reservoir. Feeds most of the Dublin population with drinking water I believe.

Hi Glas,
Sorry I didn’t see your post last night, I was in the pub and just posting on my phone.
Blessington is easily reached from Dun Laorighe or Dublin port, when you get into Dublin city centre, find Dame street, then turn onto Georges street. Follow that for about 30 miles and you’ll be there.
This route will take you through West Tallaght though, so when you see a large shopping center with a glass pyramid on top, roll up your windows and don’t stop at red lights for the next 3 miles
If you need any other pointers don’t hesitate to ask, Blessington is not far from me.
