The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the Tommy Bowe photo on the bar. That's a banning offence
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Haha hadn't even noticed that prop.
Welcome IL. Membership is free there's just a little matter of the inauguration ceremony. This will take place at an undisclosed location. 3 men in balaclavas will bundle you into the back of a van. Don't resist, we all had to go through it.
Notch I heard on the radio that he was dropping hints that he hadn't made the WC squad. Interesting.

Waiting for confirmation, but what the hell happens if they pick up a few injuries in the 10-12 axis? Seems to be jumping the gun.

He signed for Toulon a while back so he was always going off to collect his pension post RWC, a wee dummy-spit at being pushed a few weeks early is understandable I guess

Suppose so. Just feel it's poor form given his services could be required. Quade Cooper could pull up injured first training session for all he knows.

Hmmm it might almost be worth putting a cheeky wee punt on Giteau making it to the world cup anyway. By hook or by crook.
Is the Irish squad announced on Monday then? That's a bit of a shame, I start work at 2 so I'll probably miss out on the initial fights when Gibbo discovers Jennings will be doning the blue of Leinster in september as opposed to the green of the Irish.

I don't think there are any great surprises in it Munsty, was clear a few weeks back that Deans didn't fancy taking Giteau.

By hook or by crook I'd put money on it that Giteau will be at the WC. Gotta say the aussie backline had more depth than I thought. I like McCabe, very competent player.

Just you and Stag? Then who’s driving? I’ll figure out the best times today, we’ll have to see what suits Notch and what time we’re meeting Rav too.
Leon is about a hitman. I wouldn’t want to tell you any of the plot though. it’s a fantastic movie, I’m no (film) critic, so I can’t even explain how good it is, but the characters are really excellent. Jean Reno, (a very young) Natalie Portman and Gary Oldman are in it. Defo check it out.

Can you imagine a game in Ireland finishing at 1am? Can't see it.
No didn't watch it was it good. I did enjoy Arsenal v Udinese the night before. Commentators kept whinging about Arsenal, I thought it was good game.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
They were on about that match on the telly this morning. They showed a clip of Mourinho going up to one of Barca's coaching staff and pulling his ear. Must be a Portuguese thing!

Barca v Real was immense. Erupted at the end as standard. Barca are a piece of work. They've all come out to criticise real as the culprits when they are just as bad.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
I'm pretty sure they did this because of the climate over there. Any earlier and the temperature would have been too much.
Very good game. Barca won with a late goal by Messi.
There is an incredible amount of tension between these two sides. There never seems to be a game without some sort of big melee between them.
On a related note, if I was a footballer and was going to get a red for raising my hand to an opponent, I think I would just give them a proper clout.

That's the reason I don't like this Barca side. They have no need to get involved in this rubbish considering how strong they are but they do.

Myself & 'Herself' are going, don't think any of the other South Wales regs are going ??? Giving blood at 10:30, then heading in to town. An old work mate will be upstairs in the Central Bar from Noon til 13:30 so may well head in there for a jar, before the game. Won't be on a 'sesh' as A) I'll have just given blood B) I'll have the new all-singing, all-dancing, tells-jokes camerarugbydreamer wrote: Penfro - yep I should be going, .

Ah nice one Penfro.
I'm not going to be drinking loads on the weekend I don't think (although that could be famous last words), but couldn't resist going to the match considering how cheap the tickets are for this one. Will be nice to give the team a good send off as well.
Not sure if anyone else is going? If not, I reckon they should!

That's the reason I don't like this Barca side. They have no need to get involved in this rubbish considering how strong they are but they do.
The bad feeling continued after the match, with Barcelona midfielder Xavi saying: "Real Madrid should be concerned about the image it is giving, it's very damaging.
"Marcelo's tackle has no place in football. Totally shameless, a real shame for football in general this image generated by Real Madrid."
His team-mate Gerard Pique added: "Mourinho is destroying Spanish football. It's not the first time and it's always a number of players and the same ones so there has to be some way of stopping them. I hope they adopt the necessary sanctions."
And after several ill-tempered matches between the teams last season, Barca coach Pep Guardiola said: "The images will speak for themselves. This is going to end up badly if it isn't stopped soon."
Barca acting completely innocent and I cannot fecking stand it.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
The problem is Barca don't seem to believe the way the act is wrong. Harassing the referee and constantly getting in the faces of Madrid players' faces when there is an incident is what is kicking these things off.
Not to mention the play acting. Did you see when Pedro hurt his wrist less than 6 metres from the goal line. The game was miles away but they wanted the referee to stop it. The ref ran what must have been 70 metres to tell Pedro to get of his bum and walk over the line.
