Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the David Wallace photo on the bar. That's a banning offence
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

As is Genia and AA Cooper. God, we have NO hope against them. Get out of our group and plan for the Saffers. We may just beat them. May.
You're tellin' me. They squandered so many chances. Could have easily been 34-3 at HT... dare I say 40-3?
Should see the news here. Our reporters in NZ having a field day. They (kiwis) are very fearful of the Wallabies but are at pains to admit it.
You can say it Breaker, because it's true. Ioane was given 2 shoite passes when clear. In the 1st 15 minutes. Min 10 maybe 12 pts squandered And there were others later in the 1st half. But, you have to give to the Blacks in the 2nd half. But Horwell's captaincy, when really needed - was inspiring. Rocky played better for it too.

Yeah Hughie... I feel the same about that. I was watching a doco last night about the Israelites v the Caanites... so much creulty and violence.
3500 later we are still the same. (not you or me obviously... but them!) The cycle only perpetuates more violence. I worked in Vietnam for a few years - what I saw and heard was awful. How certain people can walk around with their heads held high astounds me.
Still, you've got to be fair and humane to others... just don't let anyone try to get the upper hand and keep fighting for real justice if you are able.

I've been saying this for years, but people don't listen. Now I'm not one of those crazy conspirisy theory fanatics at all, and of course 9/11 was a terrible act. But do I feel that they got what they deserved for years of bullying the world?? Perhaps a little.
But their actions since 9/11 have removed any sort of sympathy I could feel towards them. Take the case of the British Citizen (that the government here ended up paying compensation to) can't remember his name. They "interrogated" him for EIGHT years until they decided to realise him without charge. Sickening

I was reading in the paper today about a regime that abducts people from their houses, locks them away without trail for years, tortures them daily and often killing them.
No it wasn't Gadiffi, its America. Only difference is they get away with it

China aren't a great alternative, in terms of authoritarian control of their own population. I would not much like to live there.
America is a scary place, large parts of the country have a massive military culture. The military is very revered and they spend billions on it; they are always going to find new wars to fight. I mean, in terms of the huge deficit they have the proposed Republican budget was pushing for massive cuts in all areas but military spending to be completely ringfenced. And thats already a huge amount.
I wouldn't really like to live there much either.

Is that not to be expected from China though, the state is supreme and you don't dare speak against it. America is the beacon of freedom leading the world to a better place. Urgh even makes me feel sick just typing that

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
I just got a call from MI5 asking me to come in for questioning
I asked them if they wanted training and they told me not to bother and forget about coming in.
I have a question for you all today.
What matches are you going to watch during the world cup?
(ie are you going to get up for all of them and will you miss any due to work?)

Really? Some interesting talk on here last night.
I'll try to catch about 92% of them, Hobo. Lucky I'm in a similar time zone.

The problem with America's justification for what it does to suspects (often nothing more than suspects) is that every other country that uses torture also says 'we needed to do it.' It's just plain hypocrisy for America to then lecture other countries on human rights.
Pete: I've heard that John Taylor won't be part of ITV's World Cup commentary team. I couldn't tell you why.
And bore da pawb / good morning all, welcome to September!

It would be nice, Hughie, but powerful countries get special treatment. It's the same with Saudi Arabia. No democracy, hardly any rights for women, but no one says a word because we want the black crap they have under the sand.

True that, luckless. That's what's confused me about Libya. The Col. was great mates with lots of people, what suddenly happened for all of them to finally turn on him??

Morning
I've just booked two days off for the world cup, so I'll get to see all the matches that I want to. First one's next Friday, can't wait! I'm in a different office again next week too, so it should be a good week for me.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
My rugby calendar here in work has all the fixtures on it, and I'll miss a few matches happening during the week, but the main ones seem to be Saturday/Sunday. There's a couple of nights I'll be up all through the night too. Loads of coffee and Haribo sweeties then...

For each PC connected to the router there is a light flashing on it. Disconnect yours and see the WiFi router activity. If theirs is flashing furiously - they are busy taking your bandwidth.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Just to let you guys know I've sort of got family playing in the Celtic... I mean RABO League.
Michael Paterson's great grandfather and my grandfather were brothers (on Mum's side). He is Canterbury through and through but obviously the competition was stiff so he played for the Canes in 2009, then first season at the Blues last year.
So I guess I'm a Cardiff Blues fan now. Feel quite proud of him actually. I hope has has a better season this year... put last year down to finding his feet in the NH. I hope he combines well with Pretorius!
