Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the David Wallace photo on the bar. That's a banning offence
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

I know Phil Vickery is going out there to do some for ITV as he was tweeting about it earlier.
I am guessing Craig Doyle and Martin Bayfield will be involved as well. Munsty, do you remember when we say Doyle at the MadStad, can't believe how orange the fella is, looked like it been done to Tantastic with Gav!!!

I'm actually thinking of heading out to the pub for a couple of the matches. The small O'Neil's near me is definitely showing some am thinking of going there and recording the matches at home to watch again later.

Looks like England might win this Twenty20.
And Eoin Morgan showing his one-day credentials - 49 off 26.
Out?Morgan stands his ground.

I'm trying to find a pub near to where I work that is showing games, so when I am on an 8 o'clock start I can go in and watch the 6:30 match before work.

I am guessing that you will agree with me here, but I hate this trait in the modern game where batsmen stand their ground like that and basically question the honesty of the fielder. He claimed the catch, the umpires weren't sure either way. In years gone by, the batsman would have walked on the word of the fielder, and I am very sad that this is no longer the case.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
I'm definitely going to the pub for Wales v SA. Whichever game plays at 7ish I'll look at a pub too (Fiji or Samoa). I remember the two tests in NZ a while back when a few of my mates and I went to Lloyds in Newport for breakfast then beer when licensing permitted. That was a great day.
Anyway, just been told I'm back with the 2's on the weekend. Stupid work stopping me training. Still at least I will be back in the club for Munster v Dragons and not stuck in Croesyceiliog (or however you spell it).
Munster, I know I like my squad settled early on FIFA

If cricket had gone professional equally at the pace that rugby has gone in it's short life, it would no longer be a sport. Ever see the film 'Rollerball'?

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Portnoy,to answer your GAA question, there is a tournament called the Kilmacud 7s where 7 people play. I have never seen it played anywhere though. Also 6 a side and 5 a side football have their merits. Smaller pitches give you less space which makes you look harder for a gap and think more about the pass. England's footballers could learn a lot from games like this.

To me, its the only cricket worth watching. Better than a 4-day bore-fest, broken up by, rain, tea and biscuits. It has opened up cricket to millions more non-cricket fans. Like 7's does for rugby. Some move on to the full game. Some dont. My cricket-club mates think Im a phillistine. So be it.
Evenin regs.
Couldn't put it better. How are you sir? Looking forward to an international free weekend before the mayhem?
I am Munsty. PRO12 is at the forefornt for the next 2 weeks. Then, the mayhem. Im liking the PRO12 website. Got deep into it. It has pulled all the history in and added to it. It looks de bees bollix. It will get sharper and improve over time. We have 17 players missing from our squad (14 in NZ and 3 injured). Probably more than any other club at the RWC. But I still think we will hold our own. As will Munster, that says a lot. Macken is in now. Oh yes.
Dreamer,
You really need to get a rrrom with yon Andy. Really girl, its so obvious.

Dreamer,it's a bit early for him to screw up like. A bigger bottler than the Dublin football "Star" Bernard Brogan.
Also, did Ireland with their two qualifiers have more men players than GB? Sorenson 2 sets to one down but currently in the 4th. Prop I thought it was decent but overated.

Bro-in-law is a mad Pool fan. He was touting millons on players he wanted in last weekend - to beat the band. I was saying, that some of the transfers for individuals could keep our professional rugby clubs going for 10 years. He laffed and said "Thats obviously because rugby is krap and is played and supported by rich, posh geezers."

Bang on Gibbon (loved that 'animal' reference on Sat. with the Mujati thing btw)
Most club rugby fans I know are not posh. They're from all walks of life. Plus, The Triple Crown in Richmond on Saturday will most likely have 6 different sets of fans in. The London DH plus Richmond are at home to Southend in ND1. It will be good fun.
A club version of The Westgate in Cardiff on Amlin final night
Off for zzzzzz now. Nos da.

Let's just hope for a respectable campaign with a safe return for our players.
Nothing more thankyou.

I heard 606v2 is actually a front for one of the UK's largest organised criminal gangs. Hobo is apparently number 3 on MI5's most wanted list.
Since it's quiet how about a little current affairs comp. Given the situation in Libya changes on a daily basis it's naturally first item on the news. Was sitting down tonight with my Pa watching when we sprang into lively debate regarding the whereabouts of the Col. I say he hasn't been in Libya at all for the last week. Any takers?

We do it whenever we're on, which is probably too much. We don't read every article though between us all we probably see every one through our travels. Reports are the main way though.

Man, re-watching the Oz v AB game. Oz, should have been min 25 pts up in the first 15 mins. Maybe 30. Easily. Vs the AB's? Samo is incredible. As is Genia and AA Cooper. God, we have NO hope against them. Get out of our group and plan for the Saffers. We may just beat them. May.

On a serious note we can beat them (Australia) but it'll just take everything to go right for us on the day and the Aussies to not play as well as they can. In other words, a dramatic reversal of current form. Sports funny like that sometimes.
Lets not bet the house on it. It'll be tough.

And Beale and Pocock and Elsom ... and ... we are soo phooked. That game should have been over by HT. McCaw and Carter negated. But, here come the AB's. Must look for those Aussie chinks(not racist) in their armour.

Yeah Notch, we could do it. Nothing is impossible on any given day. But.
They look so strong up front. That myth is gone. Dead an buried. Lets not even mention the speed of thought and motion in their backline. Deans really is a sublime coach. They are simmering to boiling, just at the right time.

You're tellin' me. They squandered so many chances. Could have easily been 34-3 at HT... dare I say 40-3?
Should see the news here. Our reporters in NZ having a field day. They (kiwis) are very fearful of the Wallabies but are at pains to admit it.

Yeah, it's like watching NH rugby with the fast-forward button on. What I'm noticing is how well they do with slow ball. Sure, they get slow ball but a few phases later they look dangerous. We cough up turnovers in that situation.
And their scrum went very well. Yes, it will be tough. But these are the games you relish in all honesty. Nothing to lose, everything to gain.

Just finished watching a program on BBC about American techniques used to interrogate (and I use that word loosely) suspects since 9/11 and up until today. Now people in here will know that I don't have strong view on many things, basically because I'm not arseddd about a lot of things, but America and their blatant disregard for the world makes me suck to my teeth.
The whole were America what are you going to do about it. They have admitted that they torture people and say a big flock you to the world "we needed to do it", they have a fricking concentration camp at Gomtanimo for god sake and what can we do about it?? Nothing
Shower of C**ts the lot of them. Am absolute disgusting gooverment, sick of the lot of them
