First topic message reminder :

Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the collage of great current props' pictures on the bar. We've got Castrogiovanni, Hika Reid, The Beast, Colin Windon, the Franks brothers, Mas, Tonga'uiha, Roncero, Cian Healey (as demanded by Hughie), Stevens, Murray, Mike Ross, Adam Jones and Steenkamp all in action. Graffiti's a banning offence

So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Just read back and thought,

"That's a very Un-Hound like comment!"

Then I realised, of course he wasn't implying any bias towards the home team, there is a player called Homer!

The world has not shifted on it's axis afterall!

Howya mrsp.

Watching ST v ASM. The handling from both teams has been exhilarating. Luke McCallister is some player. ST 22-9 ASM. ASM need a try soon.

Not sure I want to hear how good ASM are just now.

They are my fav French tem but then again they are in our HEC group so...

chin

Maybe we could compromise and they could have a fantastic season except for 2 games?

You know what? I'm watching this game and Tonga wasted plenty of try-scoring opportunities. Missed a few kicks too. France were diabolical. A LBP is a result for them given they were so clearly second best! If Tonga had taken a few of their chances to put more points on the board, they'd have been in even more trouble.

I know, some of the overlaps or breaks Tonga messed up was crazy, they could have with a bit more of a clinical edge even got the TBP. Just didn't quite have the composure to keep their cool in the French 22.

I've been really imprssed with Tonga this wc. Apart from the first half against NZ where they looked like they had stage fright, they've been absolutely great to watch.

Ah but if not for that game against Canada... if only they had played against Canada like they did in their last two outings! Well, the chance is gone. They peaked when they were already 0 from 2 in the group.

MrsP, that's a good question.

Honest answer is no, I've never regretted having them done. I was young but I did think long and hard about it, it wasn't an inpulsive decision. And I made sure they were in places that are easily covered. I know there are times/places when they could be considered inappropriate so I cover them as and when I feel it necessary.

I think the regret comes in when people don't really think through what they're doing and do it on a whim. I love my tattoos, they're as much a part of my identity as all the other things that make me, me.

That's great Swanny.

I can't remember the figures but I was shocked at the percentage who said they regretted their tats.

They can cuasw problems for folk in my job when either through accident or design, they have a cut across them that needs stitching back together.

It's a bit like matching wallpaper!

mrsp - I would be more fearful for the teams in Toulouse's pool. With nigh on a whole XV out, they were class. Bringing someone like Bouilhou off the bench is just cruel to the opposition.

Result - Bath 26-25 Tigers. Staunton had a pen to win it with time expired. Shocking booing at the kick from the Bath fans.

But, but.....Ealing win 53-29 at Wharfedale.....and Fylde lose at Blaydon!!!

Ealing top of National 1 after promotion. Heady days in West London.

Absolutely glas. But we're enjoying the ride. I live about 9 miles away from Ealing, but I've spent so much time there watching rugby in the pub I'm accepted as a regular. I bought the staff some ice creams today because it is so hot. That stuff is appreciated, and I appreciate them for getting the rugby on for us

Well I wish all (UK)media outlets would stop about the 'good' weather because it's been absolute carp here. Today, steady downpour - all day!!

Watching Blues v Glasgow while recording SCD. Love the dancing bit but Bruce Forsyth furious cannot bear him, so I record the prog and just hit fast forward whenever Brucie totters into view. I recommend it.

Glasgow doing well in this match so far. I thought before and more convinced now - Duncan Weir might only be a laddie, but they should have taken him to NZ. I have been very impressed with what I've seen of him over last season.

Risca lost away at Pontypool Utd. 27-10. But we did play well.

I'm getting one of my tattoos extended at the end of the month. Can't wait. 30th birthday present. I don't think I'll regret it even when my muscles sag.

Well done on the try Prop.

Somewhat shocked the Blues lost at home to Glasgow. I think I predicted Scarlets to lose in Aironi though, but otherwise I've been rubbish. Got Munster, Dragons and Blues wrong at least.

A real shame for Carter. I really don't see it troubling NZ too much though. Their pack are a good all round unit, and give their half backs quality ball to work with. Once they get the ball out to the centres, it's there where NZ have impressed me.

I still think SA will be there in the final though.

McCaw's injury may be worse than is being admitted according to some sources. That could hurt them if it's true.

I doubt I will manage to get up in time for the Wales game so I will wish you all the best for that game. I will be cheering you on in my sleep and hope to awake to news of your qualification!

And then...

Good luck Cari and Dreamer and Rev and Cymro and Glas and Lucky and Penfro and ?Prop. Is Prop Welsh? It confuses me because he plays for the Sarries but supports Glos? Hope I haven't offended him or anyone else. or left anyone out.

With Carter gone, NZ are so much more vunerable... But if McCaw goes with him... the Dream becomes a Nightmare.

Gutted for Carter. Really wanted to see the best 10 in the World strut his stuff. Its what its all about - a RWC. Watching the masters of their craft play.

So, I hope NZ's Captain makes it. Really do. We cant afford to lose any more main attractions.
