First topic message reminder :

Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the team photos of the World Cup finalists. Or the action shots (put up especially for Cari) of McCaw, Kahui and Corey Jane.

So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Might stay up to watch it as it sounds a good game, although I also have the Currie Cup semi finals in the planner to get through as well.

Must be iced/out of the fridge or freezer Dreamer. I cant drink insipid water either. Iced, it really settles the stomach. Anyway, water before bed is a top idea. And a good sleep. You should feel better for the Final pal. Hug

Howya Gibbo guinness

Love the Lanes too, but didn't visit today, kept to the seafront and the pier, keep the kids entertained. Just needed a day out away from things, has done me the world of good, great fun skimming stones into the sea with the little ones, although nearly had to dive in after the littlest as she has no fear and almost went running straight in fully clothed.

Skimming stones... that is one of the most pleasurable things to do when you need to just set your mind at rest. That and chasing fearless tots who want to jump into the water. Laugh

Kids are just brilliant for altering your state of mind. They make you happy, seeing the joy they get from simple things and drive you crazy sometimes. Wonderful.

Saw Jonathan Woss and Jeremy Clarkson sitting in the same room (Top Gear).. I thought to myself... now is a good time for a meteorite to hit right where they were sitting. Is that wrong?

I don't know what side Wasps had out today, but it was weaker than ours. Sorry Hound. I am made up though as our usual doom mongerors hammered our young guns last week, so I hope they eat their humble pie.

We (Risca) won 31-19 up Tredegar. Result over performance. I got my 10 beer cheque win bonus finally and I was part of a pushover scrum try. Buzzing.

Night all. Hope you all had a good day.

Congrats to the Dragons on the win thumbsup

I've been consoling/bollocking a mate who allowed himself to be mugged on his doorstep last night.

No one should cop that, but he admitted he was peed and as far as I'm concerned, made himself vulnerable. While I was sympathetic, a harsh lesson was dished out by me I'm afraid. "Don't look like a victim" - he didn't like it.

Hi Rev Bye rev. Good win man.

Yeah Pete, Piers Morgan definitely another one for the Meteorite of Doom. Makes my skin crawl.

Story Hound? Good day man? Yeah, its hard to tell the truth sometimes to a mate. But, better in the long run. I listen to those I respect/love... even if its not easy to take sometimes. Mostly ya know it yerself, but just need to hear someone you trust to say it to you.

Jeezuz, I'm so sober its scary. Drinking a lot last night helped I find.

Gibbo, I remember once Alan Hansen describing an upcoming fixture as a 'potential potato skin.' I wish they hadn't corrected him!

I haven't heard of them, Rodders, but there's a NZ band called the Phoenix Foundation who are great. I had an email the other day saying they'll be on Later with Jools Holland next Friday.

They have the personnel, that's for sure, Gibbo. It sounds like Lievremont has handed it over to the players, which could be disastrous or an unintentional stroke of genius. But for me I'm happy whoever wins. Who could begrudge New Zealand the Cup when they routinely produce such excellent rugby?

My nephew coaches WBA youths. Always knew that boy would make it. It was his dream since he was a chisler. He stuck to it day-in day-out, in Dublin and worked his way up. Really admire him. Never drank. Never smoked - despite all the peer-pressure... Trained all day - every day. Did all the badges. Studied all the managers and hung around the LOI coaches. He was and still is obsessive about the game. Always gives me a shout when Villa play them. Cheeky sod will send me an email soon.
