The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing picture of newly crowned IRB World Player of the year Thierry Dusautoir.
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
I did alright MrsP. My first few months of the season were very very tame with most matches having few penalties and none had a card. Since Halloween its been much more intense I've had 3 reds and 3 yellows in my last 4 games and now have had two serious injuries to players in the last two matches. I think it will be like this until the Christmas break.
I went over on my ankle early in todays game and its sore now. I'll take the next 2 weekends off refereeing as I'll have uni committments.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Stag why can't Ulster win at Clermont? Surely we have astounded you enough times in the past couple of years. You didn't think we could win away at Bathvthe last two years. If I remember right you didn't think we could beat Biaritz at Ravenhill last year. Iknow you hoped we would win yesterday but I don't think you actually thought we would. So I hope we keep on astounding you starting at Welford Road next week.

I'm watching fuzzy penguins sloshing about in the mud on telly.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Ball looked forward for the last pass. Think it came off a Glaws player.
Toulouse are just a joy to watch when they move the ball around like that. In fairness, Glaws are pretty good at it too. 21-17. 5 mins left.

I love that mud wrestling. Not sure if I've watched penguins do it though.
Anyone else think penguins have been getting far too much exposure on telly recently?

Ha Rava - they're on the Frozen Planet programme. It'd be quite difficult to do a programme on the polar regions without them.

Gloucester had a scrum in their half, few passes ,taken from the breakdown and Gloucester kick it out if play. Where's the ambition??

Glaws took their LBP. I think they did the right thing. That group is interesting. Love to see Connacht beat Toulouse in a wet & windy Galway.

Yeah it's a beatiful landscape too. You can go to these places for trips but it costs about £5/6'000. If I had the money I would...

Hoi Cari. yeah. Wont see the North or South Poles unless I win the lorro. But, I want to get to Iceland for the aurora borealis. Apparently, this is the best time to see em in 50 years. Clear, really active and go on for ages. Beginning now and peaking in March. Be a nice birthday pressie. Best Light Show on the Planet.

All right Gibbo
Iceland's supposed to be a nice country to visit anyway, but the Northern Lights would be amazing to see.

Not everyone supports the side from the places they're from and/or were born in. Lots of people have different reasons for affiliating with a team.
Sorry...evening Kenny

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Right, that explains it. I find it pretty strange to affiliate with a team unless I'm from the area, or have deep ties to it can understand people who do though.
Hey Kenny, I think there's league on Sky Sports right now if you're interested. Go to the links I sent you and you should be sorted.

Thomond - I suppose that view is natural in Ireland. Like with the Gaelic sports people support their local club to county...I wonder if it's the same with rugby over there? Also, the regions in Wales only formed in 2003.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
You wouldn't find a Leinster fan from Cork. I know the regions formed and some people oppose them but I thought people interested in rugby near Neath or Swansea would support the Os for example.
