The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing picture of Micky T above the bar!
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Surely Munster could not kick as poorly as Saints did last night nor catch as poorly as the Saints did last night?
Take nothing from the Scarlets but it was Saints errors that did the damage and the Scarlets fantastic ability to capitalise on them that produced the result I think.
Yes Mrs P I said above it was the jammiest four try bonus point ever and I meant it. The second try was an outrageous miss by the refereeing team, there was an element of luck for the first, the other two were pouncing on knock ons. Then again how often do you see teams fouling up those chances?

Absolutely Glas.
As I say, take nothing away from the Scarlets for taking those chances.
Loved watching it. Actually we had our youngest chanting "Scarlets, Scarlets!" throughout the first half before she went to bed!

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Goooooood morning!
I have decided not to tell my mam how late I was out last night, considering I've not been well, I shouldn't have done it and she will be a bit with me I think.
Still in a bit of disbelief. Can't believe how lucky we were for the 2nd try. I mean my friend and I called knock on straight away, didn't cheer when Shingler went over but then saw the scores change and were a bit like
HOW did they miss the knock on?? mind you, he missed a hell of a lot throughout the match. Reckon Timani will my lucky not to get cited after his late hit.
Gilbert I thought was incredible. HEC debut, gets a try and was just everywhere. Superbly committed but then they all were. Couldn't get over the Saints' handling errors though .
I have four main worries now: Shingler, Georgie, Sanjay and the Priest, all left the field with knocks/injuries. So hope they are okay and nothing too serious.
And I forgot to say in here before but Pete commiserations about LI. Thought they did really well to keep the scoreline so close in the end when they were down to 14.

Awwwwww man what a game last night. My throat feels like I was eating gravel all night and my brain feels 3 sizes too big for my skull, but that game at Murrayfield is the best game of rugby I have ever seen. It was litteraly impossible to take your eyes off it, even for a minute. Breathless end to end rugby from start to finish. I'm starting to see what staggy and some of the others in here see in the HC.

I don't know about anyone else but this has probably been the best start to a Heineken Cup I can remember!

Dreamer, it wasn't just a knock on but Scarlets were offside from the kick off as well
Fair play to them though. Northampton made a dog's dinner of it and they took full advantage!

I know Notch! It was a right balls up from the refs, couldn't believe it.
Radge - I saw that scoreline but am yet to see any of the highlights, sounded an amazing match though!
Munsty - agree, this start to the HEC has been fantastic this year!

Did anybody else notice a strange phenomenon in the Blues match - Dan Parks running with the ball? Lloyd Williams' service was so fast he couldn't help himself!

Exactly when will the Six Nations ever give you that?
I agree with Munsty best start to a HEC that I can remember. Pool 1 and Pool 2 have been blown wide open.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
But you don't have to choose between the two, Stag. The Six Nations is what it is, the Heino is what it is. I love both.

No you don't have to choose of course not. They are at different times. Except one is a good tournament that seems to get better every year; the other is simply limping on.
In 2 Rounds of the Heineken Cup I think we have seen more excitement than the entire of last seasons Six Nations.

It's been a brilliant start to this year's Heino, no doubt about that.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
I think for me the meat and drink is Heineken Cup. Of course, when a World Cup or Lions Tour comes around it's special but the Heineken Cup delivers quality rugby and drama.
I think the last time the 6N did that was the last day of the 2007 tournament. You know, France and Ireland desperately trying to outdo each other and win the thing on points difference? I hope we get more Six Nations like that soon.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Just turned on a feed of a game and I've already heard something that makes me want to punch a commentator in the face.
"Premiership champions now, European champions sometime soon"- or something like that.
Did I ever tell ye I was a Biarritz fan?

Punch in the face is a real exaggeration. I would only go as far as a disparaging glance. I think we all know that!

Dreamer - I've got a great stream I'll PM you it...
Score is 9 - 10. Tommy scored our try. It's a shame Biggar isn't having a good kicking day today, we should be seven points up. Fotuali'i is injured so he's been replaced at HT although I don't think it's serious. Our scrum is suffering which is a bummer.

Wow! What a super game. 26 all in Italy. I'm happy with that. Treviso are very dangerous at home, and bless little Matt Morgan on his HC debut kicking the penalty to get the draw. Proud of my boys

cracking kick by Matthew Morgan. That took guts fair play. 2 points good for the O's but honestly felt Treviso were a bit hard done by.
Exciting game though, end to end stuff and I liked it.
So da iawn to both

Did anyone watch the Sarries/Biarritz game? I heard it was a bit...quiet.
ooh and well done to Tommy, he equalled Shane's record for scoring O's tries in the HC (they both have 15 each)

Globalsports is done through Veetle. Did you go through Wiziwig? If so that's what it was I would imagine. It's 15-8 biarritz with the conversion to come for Sarries. 15-10 Biarritz FT.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Just depends on how these two teams go over in Treviso. If the Italians watch this they'll see both of them as beatable at home. 15-8, last play- Saracens conversion to come.
Saracens have rescued a losing bonus point. But one thing is clear- Dewi Morris is sickened by the result! Slap it up ye Dewi
Started the game talking about the Sarries as future European champions, ended it talking about how the French could afford to spend more on their squad etc. Says it all
