The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of Chris Paterson, Steve Thompson and Jonny Wilkinson above the bar!
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Yeah Munsty. It was a very early call, but I only saw news highlights. Did Sale collapse other scrums just beforehand?
If not, then the pen try was a shocker.

Hound,
There was one before which was the wrong call anyway but how you can give a penalty try for a scrum going sideways is beyond me!
Hughie,
Tricks are good. Just quite busy at the moment which is why I'm probably doing my best not to get out of bed. Christmas was good after a tough start. Had some friends over which was good even if it meant I didn't get the rest I would have liked.

ha then I would say that's a v good new year resolution to have.
Finished the rough draft of my story for my Welsh assignment (as well as doing my actual work obviously )
Going to type it up later and e-mail it off. If I'm still this tired by 5pm, there's no way I'm going to make it through a 2hr Welsh class later

I know the feeling munsty, first thing I did when I got home was male dinner for everyone. Then went to a removal. Funeral next morning. Thursday spent the afternoon with a mate who split up with the husband (more tears) Friday had a day off. Saturday was spent with said husband. Sunday was Christmas.
Barely had any time to myself.

Morning cricket!
Righty, can anyone in here remember whether the Wales U20's side counts as our A side, so if a player has been capped for them they can't play for anyone else?
Reason I ask is that Steve Shingler has been picked in the Scottish squad (I didn't know he was Scottish at all!)

Not too bad. After a couple of days of swearing at my computer a piece of software is working*, so I'm making progress
*If anyone's in the market for mapping software, don't buy ArcGIS. MapInfo would be much better.

I think it's the Welsh second level team dreamer so yes. Isn't that why the guys Connacht signed from the Os can't play for Ireland. Could it be the 7s team though?

Thomond and Munsty.
Do you think Munster should have 2 academies. North Munster and South Munster?

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
For underage i.e the youths(u-17s to u-19s) or say Luke O'Dea would be in the North Munster and Brian O'Hara would be in South? I don't think that would work.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
That's what I thought Thomond, which is why I find it so strange that he's been picked in the Scotland squad.
Maybe it is the 7's though, but then I think Steve Shingler has played for them as well (could just be his brother though).
Hmmm.....

The Wales U20 team does count as your second team, but a player is only bound to stay with Wales if he represents the Welsh second team against the second team of another nation. So if he played against Ireland U20’s then he wouldn’t have to stick with Wales, but if he played against France U20’s (which is also their second side) then he would. As far as I can remember that was where the controversy over Jarvis and Loxton came about.

hmmmm, I still find that all a bit confusing Mick my poor brain.
and Sky am not sure how they can try and make the transfer window "exciting" for a month. It's not even often exciting on the last day!

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Steve Shingler's been named in the Scottish Squad. Which means he's a Welshman, playing for Irish, in England about to play for Scotland.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
I presume there's a little bit more about the Scottish national set up than the Connacht set up and that they have done their research. Seems to be the opposite of the Morgan decision. Good luck to him, he'll get more caps for Scotland than he ever would for Wales. I think he's still having a pwdi about Priestland personally (i.e. he knows he's a better player, but RP has stolen his thunder for the Scarlets and Wales)

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Shings is not a better player than Rhys, Glas
Although I concede that he might very well think that
He's still only 20 though, plenty of time for him to prove himself. Reckon he should have hedged his bets with Wales, as I personally think he'll be a better player then either Tovey or Biggar.

Having walked passed my umbrella twice before leaving the house and deciding it wasn't needed as the sun was shining, I'm now walking across Putney bridge on the rain. Sound

This did not make me laugh.
Well.....perhaps a bit
Actually karma might be out to get me now. Due to go out for my lunch break in 10 mins and the sky has just turned a rather ominous colour....

Looks like I'll be needing my umbrella tomorrow at the Test...
Bloody rain! Quite spectacular thunder & lightning now though.
Really want to see the Little Master have a good hit (100th hundred or not) but also our guys tidy things up late in the day. Am I asking too much?

Adam Jones is ignoring my emails to him and wont answer my prompts on twitter. I have asked him to just be honest and say he doesnt have time but he refuses to acknowledge me even!
Max Evans one agreed - thread going up shortly.

Hi all, I'm unnaturally not hungry today. Had a yoghurt at 11 and cannot eat any more than a mandarine and one slice of bread right now. This is most unlike me. Ah well means I can save rest for tomorrow and can save a bit of cash!!
