The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
This is the first Pub of 606v2's second year, here's hoping for another good one.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of Augustin Pichot, David Campese, Mal O'Kelly and Jim Williams above the bar!
Last Pub: https://www.606v2.com/t22310p950-the-dew-drop-inn-virtual-rugby-pub#893262

Not a fan of the sport Thomond, like I said, I expect class HT entertainment. Her Madge is playing, and whatever anyone thinks of her, she knows how to put on a gig.

Don't know if Ozzy follows the Luther Vandross Cup, Scarlets are winning 10 - 3 against London Irish at HT.

I thought the Saxons v Wolfhounds game was very open. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
I missed the motm award. I would think Kearney got it.

Robson got it Hound, total joke. Barnes picked him though so no explanation needed.
Kearney was head and shoulders above every other player on the pitch, a consumate performance and I would expect that DK will be extending an invite in his direction very shortly.

Yes I think he'll be extended an invitation to train with the senior squad from Monday. It's good to see his progress; he's able to cover fullback too. Longer term it could be a better option than having Earls or Fitzgerald back there. Kearney and Kearney. Good options to have.

Evening all
Feel like shoite, we have a sickness bug in our house and are all as rough as anything with it.
Cari
Did you watch the Scarlets v London Irish game. I missed it but heard it was actually very close 20-19 into the dying seconds and we knocked on pushing for the score and Iongi ran the ball in for them from 60 yards?

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
PJ - Robson got motm! He went well in the line out, and (ahem) 'stood his ground' for Spencer's try. But Kearney was the guy people were talking about in the pub watching the match.
I suppose there is the theory that motm should go to someone on the winning team, but that's a wrong call as far as that game went.

Yeah I did watch, and it was a knock on that gave Iongi the chance to make a run for the line from about halfway. One thing that surprised me the most was Allinson swinging punches right in front of Nigel and Nigel not doing anything about it. Hape was binned in the first half, but I don't know what that was for.
Hope you all get well soon.

Thanks
We never beat the Scarlets, they are a real bogey team for us. Think that is effectively us out of the running for the LV semi finals now.

That Scarlets London Irish game was enjoyable to watch both sides wanted to play rugby.

He did Hound, I don't think the MOTM should automatically go to the winning side, but you're right, that is a mindset that seems to prevail, but if a player like Kearney stands out so much on the losing (all be it narrowly) side, then surely that's a no-brainer?
Should have been an easy pick, even for someone with no brain - like Barnes....

All quiet in here I see.
Shame.
I need some help/assistance with locating the Lyrics for the French Language version of the Abba movie Mamma Mia. I know you can translate the english version into French but there was a French version staged too and I would like the lyrics they wrote in French for Money, Money Money (or any others in fact).
The only proper French Lyrics I can find are for Waterloo.
Any help gratefully received.

Ta ra PJ. Get a good night's kip in mate. You've a few 'minor chores' tomorrow, yes?
Good win for Barf btw
Mind you, I hate the format of the LV= Cup. We put out a reasonably competent front row today (+ Ryan Davis), but the rest of the team were no better than third choices, with two lads borrowed from Welsh. One of whom, Mike Powell, scored our only try.
Beaten today by a well drilled Chiefs team. They had a plan, stuck to it and it worked very well.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Thanks Cymro.
We did see that but when you just translate the lyrics they don't quite scan when you put them back to the music. That's the tricky bit. It's frustrating as I know they have been written for the songs in Mamma Mia but I can find them written anywhere. So that just leaves the option of transcribing them in French which would take me ages.
Just thought I'd ask, just in case someone had them.
Looks like we will just have to make do with Waterloo!

Not at all, but it does explain why our Nige was reluctant to send him off.
Cracking match though. Report up for suggested edits by the way.

Bore da from Wales' Premier County.
Thanks all for your good wishes
Mam(my) is slowly improving, although she had a wee pain in the chest yesterday so they moved her to the Cardiac Ward to monitor her and no walking. Nothing showing up on the cardiac front so hopefully she's good. Silver lining and clouds, she is now in a side room of her own, rather than in a side ward of 6.

I though Llanellis Tonga winger had a great match against London Irish.
Didn't see the Ireland v England match who should be called up to Seniors.

Villaimi Iongi, one of those players you pay to watch. I like him.
I think the seven players that will be called up; Dan Tuohy, David Kearney, Damien Varley, Tomas O'Leary, Chris Henry and... ? The last one would be a prop. I would almost prefer to see Buckley recalled. The cupboard is bare if we're going on the evidence of last night.

The Wolfhounds loosehead looked good in the loose, made a couple of barnstorming runs, but got his head shoved up his backside in the scrum.
Kearney was the standout, by an absolute mile.
Afternoon all.

Glas - that's appalling refereeing from Nige if he did miss the incident on purpose.
Penfro - sounds like your mum's improving so that's good. Is she in Withybush? My old girl and her sister both work up there. Small world.
I impressed myself with some cooking this weekend. Tried stuff I hadn't done before, and, well I'm not ill so that's a good effort
Oh and good afternoon.
