Interesting pick with Harris. He seems to be a player that I've seen go as high as 20 in some drafts, but not be mentioned in first round at all by some other "experts".
Any one watch much of him in college?

Re: 606v2 Mock Draft
no, but his stock would suggest mid 1st round, its not deep at CB this year and Harris is the 4th best CB he does have some good speed though.

With a fortunate turn of events, it looked like the Ravens were going wideout in the firsr round, but with the availabillity of top notch CB it was too good an opertunity to down a player to bolster our Secondary which was hit by injuries last year.
boo... I thought I might grab him at #32!

From what I’ve been reading lately scouts see Harris as a solid prospect who should be a decent nickel back at the next level if nothing else. Your typical low ceiling but high floor type player. Personally I’m kind of on the fence about him. He only measured in at 5’9 and a bit at the Combine and when you’re a DB the golden rule is if you’re short then you better have some speed and an ability to get up high to make up for it. He ran somewhere between a 4.46 and 4.51 which is borderline, I think his game speed might be faster than what he was timed at, but he only had a 34” vertical at his pro day. The fact that he measured 5’9 and weighed in at only 191lbs wasn’t really a surprise as he does struggle against bigger WRs, for example, Michael Floyd in the Sun Bowl. I think the fact that he’s shown some versatility in being used to cover the slot and the outside helps him though.

Re: 606v2 Mock Draft
Yeah... a decent nickel back (with potential upside) was what I wanted as a replacement for Charles Woodson, leaving Sam Shields and Tramon Williams on the outsides...
But anyway, he's off to Baltimore in our mock
and no bambamwillis I'm not saying whose top of my board... he's got 5 more picks to get through yet!

Re: 606v2 Mock Draft
From the sounds of it I can't really see why he'd go in the top 20, I appreciate the fact that him having a high floor is very useful for the step up to the NFL, but I think in the first round you should be aiming at someone with a high ceiling so they may compete as one of the best in that position for a number of years.

Meh, for me theres a sizable dropoff after Peterson, Amukamara and Smith in terms of DBs

Re: 606v2 Mock Draft
Thats what i though GSC, but only from what ive read rather than actually seen. So wanted to see what other folk thought. Do you really want a 5ft9 CB who doesnt have a good vertical leap. Can you imagine him against the likes of Larry Fitzgerald.

Slightly surprised to see Adrian Clayborn drop down quite so far, and I was also slightly hoping Justin Houston would fall far enough that he would drop into the second round for my second Browns pick.

Revis is not a tall CB but is still one of top 2 CB in the league, its more speed than height at CB that is needed, tackling also helps, but Primtime couldnt tackle a wet paper bag yet he made HOF.

Re: 606v2 Mock Draft
Wow now that is a shocker. A few mocks I'ev seen have him falling to the third round because of his non-athletic build. Still, he could work as an OLB in a 3-4. Was shocked that you didn't take Brooks Reed.

I left Reed for Cheesehead. I'm that kinda guy. Plus I forgot he hadn't been picked yet. Not having a good day.

Hopefully we can, but do we need to sort out who's drafting for the raiders? Don't think Glasgowhibs has been on for a while and is pekchenko still logging in or do we need people to take over the bengals and seahawks?Leedscowboys wrote:looks like we can get onto 2nd round by tonight, now the selections will be more interesting :-)

Re: 606v2 Mock Draft
Well the Panthers don't have a second round pick.
I'd suggest that AquaArab takes over the Patriots and that Manning-to-Manningham does the Raiders as he only has one team to choose for.
Sound fair?

Re: 606v2 Mock Draft
Right back from exam #1 and in a good mood because a) it went well and b) two of my top three are still on my board .
It's Derek Sherrod vs Brooks Reed...
So with the 32nd and final pick of the first round of the 606V2 mock draft, The Superbowl Champion Green Bay Packers select Brooks Reed, OLB, Arizona.

Re: 606v2 Mock Draft
So whats the story with round two?
Can either Pr4wn or Leedscowboys put numbers 32-64 onto the top item of the article with peoples names by them?
Presumably everybody by the same teams as before, with adjustments for those who haven't taken part and the Raiders... I'll happily pick up a third team if required

That sounds ok as AquaArab has already taken both patriots picks, may want to message manning-to-manningham though. Should we also say you have 24 hours and then someone picks for you?Pr4wn wrote:Well the Panthers don't have a second round pick.

You can probably spread the teams out between those who are more active, I'm happy to take on another team (maybe two) seeing as you already have four or five as you're covering for grizzly.

Well Round one is history! I guess the shock of the round was that no running backs were taken at all! Mark Ingrams slips into round two and some team will find good value there.
I'll do a proper analysis tonight. I'm nice like that.
