The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Georgia
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat. The pub has ventured to Georgia, because rugbydreamer wants the Scarlets to find a nice forward out there.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of birthday boy Hughie, Chris Budgen, Leo Cullen, Brian O'Driscoll, Paddy Wallace, Tomas O'Leary and a red faced Ronan O'Gara on the wall.

Those were very common old crisps.

I've never been in a helicopter. I wouldn't mind going in one, but I've seen on telly that some of them don't have doors. What the hell is that all about?!

They have a hatch on the top just under the rotors, lucky. It's quite a difficult squeeze but you have to hold on to your hat.

When was the last time you heard about anyone falling out of a helicopter?

I believe that a "doors off" experience is a popular type of helicopter journey. Wind in the hair feeling etc.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Georgia
Well if the people who don't fall out don't tell anyone about the people who do fall out, it's not going to make the news. You can't expect the people who fall out to say anything.

In my old job I had to visit the Mull of Kintyre two or three time a year. The RAF kindly provided us with transport.

That is true Lucky.
Do you think I should specify in my Helicopter request "one with doors please" or would that appear to be looking a gift horse in the mouth?

Definitely "one with doors" Mrs P.
And I find the 90 foot rope ladder quite useful to drop into tight spaces. Will you be in the corporate box again?

No box for us at Lansdowne Linebreaker but we are on the first wee shelf at the front so the seats are quite posh. I wonder if they will be the nice padded ones as reported by Rava?
Not that I intend to spend much of the match sitting down!
Actually, I wonder if we could persuade this "imaginary helicopter" to land on the pitch? That would be handy alright!

Now, how to convince the pilot that we are employees and there is a rig in need of repair in D4?

I assure you I am trying no funny businss with those teams. I think they are best we could put together. Any ommissions are genuine.

Yeah sorry I got it wrong.
Btw Stag, about the game on Sunday, how did you think O'Donnell did before coming off (rather early)? We talked about him before the match, and about his potential to be the "natural" 7 everyone is asking for in the Irish side.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Georgia
Rory, he did ok. He was never going to set the game alight but did ok. Tackled very well, I would imagine he was one of higher tackle counts in Munster team despite going off so early. Would have liked to seen him pass more and act more of a link man - I found him that bit too eager for contact (like most of the Munster team). Was wrapped up by Ulster.
I think Niall Ronan will be first choice #7 for Munster next year, with David Wallace on the bench and Tommy O'Donnell and new signing Sean Dougall will be learning their trade still at the top level.

Well Penfron I see where you are coming from there butt. A Leinster v ASM Final would have been optimum...

Flight to catch.

I thought he did a good job too, nothing special but was very good in defence. I honestly think Munster looked worse off when DOC came on and POM was moved to 7. Though TOD does sound like a more attack minded player usually. Maybe he would benefit from playing in a team like Leinster more? Like I said before, seems like Munster are hiding all the 7s at the minute!

Rory, Munster simply need to give a little more thought to what they want to do.

That was a good read stag, well written. I think Munster are in a transition period atm, between the old style of play and the new one. Some of the players coming through seem eager to play expansive rugby, and one key player over the next few seasons for Munster and the game they play will be Hanrahan IMO. Whether he does play at 12 or 10, he will inspire the type of game Munster play.

Sure the winners of the leagues never win the HEC.
All but Edinburgh are still doing well in their domestic leagues.

For anyone that has 12 minutes to spare, this is really worth watching. I know it's football, but you'll just spend the entire time with your mouth open watching them.

Making no judgments without the facts on that one.
It would not be beyond the bounds of possibility that there could have been a language barrier involved!
What do they mean about allowing spectators access to the track? I know there is a 100m straight down one side of Murrayfield. Do they allow spectators to stand there during matches or are they talking about after the game?

I think they are standing by the track, not on it.
Shades of Trevor Brennan incident and we don't know the right or wrong of it.

Hard to call between Matanuvou, O'Driscoll and Gilroy who had the best try of the weekend. I would say O'Driscoll because it was a great team move but Matanuvous try was class!
