The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Georgia
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat. The pub has ventured to Georgia, because rugbydreamer wants the Scarlets to find a nice forward out there.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of birthday boy Hughie, Chris Budgen, Leo Cullen, Brian O'Driscoll, Paddy Wallace, Tomas O'Leary and a red faced Ronan O'Gara on the wall.

Rava,
Fantastic call on the last day of the Ryder Cup.
I see Jones wasn't the only player Wasps announced today. They also got Ashley Johnson from the Cheetahs. Now that's a top signing.

Was a great shout. I thought I'd be the first to mention the Ryder Cup too. Well played Rav.

8. Ryder Cup.
Love it. Love beating the Yanks at anything. Really pishes em off. Was over there on hols for the 2004 one (we thrashed em) and man did I wind up some golf patriots in Idaho.
They carry hunting-guns around in their pick ups. Nice folk tho.

Munsty I remember coming back from a Society Golf Outing in Bundoran in a minibus on the last day of one of the Ryder Cups (1991 or 93). We had the radio on but because of the mountains the reception was really poor at times. We got so peed off that when we got good reception at one point just pulled the van into the side of the road, in the middle of nowhere, and sat for about an hour and a half listening to the commentary.

Our butcher was listening to the rugby match on the car radio at the weekend and had to pull over for fear of crashing the car.

Okay, it was tough, but here are my five:
1. Six Nations, Rugby Union
2. The Ashes Test series, Cricket
3. The World Championships at the Crucible, Snooker
4. The Championships at Wimbledon, Tennis
5. US Masters at Augusta, Golf.
If I had a sixth, it would be the football World Cup.

It was such a tough task narrowing it down to five, Munsty. I love athletics too, but I couldn't say I prefer the final of any one event to the five I've chosen.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Georgia
See that was my problem.
How can you say you prefer watching the 800m at the World Champs to the 1,500m at the Olympics?
Is the 110m Hurdles always less enjoyable than the 100m or the 4X100m?

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Georgia
I kind easily spend a week whittling this down I'd say but a quick glance, not in any order though
1. Masters in Augusta ($2.50 for a pimento cheese sandwich like!)
2. Any Cork City match (I was a fan before but the bond became stronger when I became a shareholder)
3.Heineken Cup final
4.All Ireland Hurling (Hurling is a far better sport to watch then football)
5.All Ireland Football
Olympics come close, Super Saturday is nearly there, RWC, Open, Super Bowl, hell even IPL isn't bad towatch. Too many choices!

Meh, When charlie tron, came back to SA she had this pretentious American accent and supposedly couldn't talk Afrikaans well anymore.
And charlie Tron came from Boksburg/Benoni area, it is about as Afrikaans as you get over here.

I probably enjoy it live a lot more than the Six Nations. But thats about value. You can't go to watch Ireland without feeling utterly ripped off at every turn. Plus it's undeniably less moving and involving than watching your province. For me it's;
1. Heineken Cup Final (Rugby Union)
2. Lions Tour (Rugby Union)
3. Rabo Pro12 Final (Rugby Union)
4. Six Nations (Rugby Union)
5. World Cup (Football)
6. Olympic Games

He seems to be doing just fine MrsP. Well, he was very excited about the Ulster match at the weekend despite it being on his "third day in hospital". I just hope he didn't rupture anything in the excitement...
