The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Belfast
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat. The pub has ventured to Belfast, as Red Stag is still struggling to come to terms with Munsters QF loss to Ulster
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of Brian McLaughlin, John Hart, Duncan Bell, Michael Lynagh, Mick O'Driscoll, Deiniol Jones and Shane Williams.
Get well "Noddy" Lynagh - our thoughts are with you.

Stag, I could probably, but it's the money now. I might see what happens in work this week. A few of the lads are off to the Aviva on the Saturday. Great weekend.

Jesus, what an awful time, might be able to get there but should see some of it on TV at least.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Belfast
Moral dilemma; I've always had a soft spot for Glasgow and am delighted they look like making the playoffs... but can I support them if they are facing an Irish side?
There's zero doubt if it was the Heineken Cup I'd be firmly in the Irish corner, but I know the Pro12 would mean so, so much more to Glasgow than either Leinster or Munster. These teams live and die for European glory and both have been recent winners.
It would do so much for Scottish rugby and the Pro 12 if Glasgow won. So what do I do? I'm obliged to want Irish Rugby to prevail.

They don't usually work for Rabo games Hugh, if that's what you're after but will send them on. If you have a sky box you can add nearly every channel that carries Rabo games, you can do it with most Satellite boxes.

Think the Treviso captain has had to come off injured (i think it's the captain), done his ankle in.
Treviso scrum struggling. Bit of a surprise that.

Hope the win well enough to set up Leinster-Munster semi, guaranteeing Irish representation in the final?

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Belfast
Try Brendan Williams! Lovely run in that, move started from just inside the Treviso half.
Ooo great step by the Treviso centre around the Glasgow 13 to slip the pass out to Williams who just races up the pitch to score. lovely that.
Burton misses though

Hugh that's been sent but you have a Sky box do you? You can add some channels that carry the Rabo to it.

Nice. I like that.
In truth, if Leinster are arsed they will win it. The only factor is whether they get distracted/exhausted from a Heineken Cup final. Thats the only reason they lost it last year and this year they have a home final on the cards. They are quite easily a cut above, they've shown that over the course of the season.

United were 4-2 up with 7 minutes to go end up drawing 4-4. 6 points between the Manchester duo, City have a game in hand and the derby to come.

Nope, 4-4. Sounds an incredible game from the description of some of the goals scored by both teams.

What's worrying is that fella Jelavic for Everton is hitting great form in time for the Euros. Richard Dunne will take him though.

oooo handbags.
Aye Notch, but then I guess the draw must feel like a win for some teams. Swings and roundabout and that I guess.
Tis all just so unsatisfying.

That's class Glas. I wonder what the Blues players make of the situation? Can't be an appealing prospect.
Good news for Ulster; Chris Henry and Pedrie Wannenburg are fit to play in the semi-final.

The Paddy Power axis at 10 and 12 is still under threat though I suspect Jackson will start at 12 and Humph at 10 at this rate.

Weir slots over a penalty
5 - 3
I don't really know who to support. I should want Treviso to win from a Scarlets pov, but then, I do really fancy a lot of the Glasgow players....hmm.....

Alarming comment by my girlfriend watching the Munster match last night.
"Whats up with Conor Murray this year? He is really really slow at passing. This other guy they brought on Number 20 he looks much faster. They should start playing him more often"
Number 20 = Tomas O'Leary
Whats alarming is that she was right!

Ah he's up and walking, looks a tad grumpy now though!

Llanelli in 2007 fluked a win against a better team in the quarter and were promptly knocked out by some English team.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Belfast
Got to admire Treviso, players slipping and sliding all over the place and they are still looking to run it, loads of endeavour.
Make plenty of ground but ends in a knock on.
Conditions are appalling out there.

Isn't this pretty much a shadow side from Edinburgh? They're not noted for their strength in depth.

aye, after going unbeaten in their group too, the nerve of them, so poor....
Glas - they aren't playing their HEC side today though are they? they are playing their rubbishy(ish) left over side as they've been doing in the Pro12 all season.

Yes, but they scraped through the weakest group ever, then caught Toulouse out with the Edinburgh factor, I.e. "ow are wee supposed to play in zis weather wiz out sheepskin coats?"
