The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Mendoza
First topic message reminder :
Hello and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub, a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The Pub has made its way to Mendoza - the city at the foothills of the Andes and one of the venues for the inaugural Rugby Championship.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of Rory McIlroy, Sam Cane, Juan José Imhoff, Eben Etzebeth, Jake Schatz and Rob McCusker.

And one for you Rava
Things are good thanks, if somewhat busy. Yeah, I'm doing another temping post that keeps being extended! started as sickness cover but there's something odd going on, more to it than that I think. In addition to the sickness cover they want to get some working practices written so I think I'll be involved in that. And my temporary boss has asked me to tutor her daughter in preparation for her English exams so that's a nice, if rather unexpected, sideline!
The other stuff is coming together nicely but there's a hell of a lot to think about and put in place. I'm just some days! It's all good though
We'll be there Gibbo, with or without match tickets, wouldn't miss it for anything!

I will be getting a lift off some guys nearby who work there. I don't know them at all like, so it is very kind of them to offer. The days I can use the car though I shall return the favour!
Might wait a year or so before getting my own car. The insurance is a bit wild at the minute from what I hear.

Its just your karma getting rewarded Swanny. Everyone knows that. It sounds like the sickness is an excuse just to keep you on. Life can be grand sometimes. You know, when people really appreciate your true value?
Keep rockin pal. Say hello to Himself for me

Thank you Gibbo, that's very kind. And I certainly will say hello for you. He's snoring his head off right now, but he's up at 05.30 for work and I haven't the heart to go and kick him... yet...

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Mendoza
Happy Birthday Rory Hope you've had a great day!
Swanny, when you finished tutoring there....
Nice low angle morning sun here this morning. Already 16 degs and the big game is on this evening.
It'll either be ABs by 25+, Wallabies by 2 or 3 points. Just have a feeling it's time for a home ambush at Homebush.
Could be very, very wrong of course. (like I was tipping Warrington Wolves over London Broncos in the SL)
There was a fantastic NRL match on here last night. Wests Tigers pipped by a point in golden point extra time by the Canterbury Bulldogs. 23-22. Some absolutely amazing tries. Storm bt Broncos 19-18 in the other game at Suncorp.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Morning Pub
Hope everyone is well. I worked super hard yesterday and was very knackered. Got a lovely surprise when I got home though...one of our very thoughtful regs sent me this (I've blocked out my name on it, but you get the idea):
I'm really liking the new O's jersey! They've gone back to basics - it's the O's 10th "birthday" in 2013 - and I love all the club names in the background on it. Perfick. I think I might just have to have one.
Looking forward to the start of rugby championship later. Should be a bit of a ding-song between Oz and Kiwis to start. Also interested to see how the Pumas do. Will pop back later to watch online if anyone's about. Then I'm off later this arvo to meet up with Penfro and PJ which will be nice

Pretty good programme on Sean Fitzpatrick before the rugby.
Can't wait to lace the boots up today. Weather is perfect too. Dry and not hot.
Was great to be at RP again last night. Dan Evans and Tom Prydie had lovely games. Even Andy Tuilagi held onto everything and had a great defensive game. Still, can't read jack into the result though, but good to get a performance before the Rabo.

Glad you enjoyed yourself at Dave last night Risca. It's just good to be back at a live rugby match, eh?
I can't watch anything before a live stream, unfortunately.

Hello from The Wheatsheaf in Ealing in the company of hoog, kiwi and Andy.
Interesting first game of the Rugby Championship. NZ looked to have the game sewn up several times, but Aussie kept coming back.
Watching Griquss v W. Province in the Currie Cup now.

Has everyone gone to the beach?
Argentina are not being disgraced, but are trying to force things too much. Lot's of unforced errors and offences at the ruck. Walsh is reffing them with a certain amount of leniency I feel.
I don't know whether that's just Walsh, or whether refs have been told to 'go easy' on Argentina in their first season in the competition. Any other team would have had two men in the bin.

Evening All
Just got in from meeting PJ and Penfro. Top regs as you all know. Shame they couldn't stay longer, but there'll be a next time I'm sure. Now for some biccies and something to watch - probably a DVD as there's naff all on the telly.
Some shocking results today in the "friendlies". I hope that bodes well for the coming season or the Os are in for a bumpy ride Ah well, wouldn't be the O's if things were simple.

Well Risca v Risca ended up in a Risca win . I played well though I think. I am happy enough. Considering we had rain a bit, it was still waaaaaay to hot.

Risca - I bet you were boiling. It's been very humid again today. I want it to go away now...don't like stuffy weather. Well done on the win by the way (assuming it was your side what won it?)
All right CJ? No, not much going on here either. Tomorrow I'll be watching the hurling semi final online and very little else before the working week kicks off again; but at least next weekend is the bank holiday.

CJ - tomorrow. Get together with some mates and see what happens. No planning, just let what happens, happen.
Cari, what happened in the friendlies? They don't mean much though, depending on what a coach wants to get of them.

Harrow - there were some mad results Ospreys lost to Barf but most surprisingly Leinster lost to Saints 43 - 0!

Wasps went to Dublin for a friendly and walloped Leinster two years back. Then we finished 9th in the league and were the worst I've ever seen us at Glasgow in the HC.
The Os should step up in Europe this season. Massive strides made last year in bringing in a team culture, and ditching the 'superstar' stuff.

Cracking game at ravers today, very positive from an Ulster perspective.
SBW to fight Francois Botha...he's lost his marbles, he will get pummelled. Man needs to know his limitations and SBWs is fighting bin men and bouncers.

Quick question guys/ gals.
would any of you be interested in doing a rugby podcast?
Basically, a 20-30 minute discussion about the latest issues (whether that be results/ team selection etc) with maybe a few pros on it too.
Let me know via PM if you would be interested.
