The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Mendoza
First topic message reminder :
Hello and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub, a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The Pub has made its way to Mendoza - the city at the foothills of the Andes and one of the venues for the inaugural Rugby Championship.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of Rory McIlroy, Sam Cane, Juan José Imhoff, Eben Etzebeth, Jake Schatz and Rob McCusker.

Ah yea Gibbo. Not everyone gets a top mam and dad. Its important to look after the ones that mean a bit to you. I am genuinely worried my mother might have a heart attack. She got all emotional and teary when we told her we were taking her and Dad to dinner in Kerry this weekend. I dont know how she will react when we throw the entire family and Rome at them.
Ok soppy stuff aside, here's one for you.
Whats the most interesting rugby discussion you've had recently?

Haven't really had one aside from my Gilroy should be given a bit of criticism.... AWOP nearly made me bash my head in a month ago on the spear tackle BOD thing his latest thread also annoyed me, apparently BOD gave Mealamu's Missus the finger in the warm up....
Also with Nadal out of the USO, Murray will never have a better chance, show them you have it lad.

And right there folks, you have the answer to the root-cause of all the Poopie in the World today. Its that simple. Bad parents = difficult kids. Difficult kids have more difficult kids. Younger and younger. And so the cycle goes on... Not always the case. Some have the guts to escape it and make their Life their own. Those ones, I really admire.
Best rugby convo I had recently? With a guy in Mulligans the other night. We talked about grass-roots and how and where the game should go right now. In Ireland and Globally. He thought I was a Brit - wearing the Revs shirt. It got interesting. He really liked me until I told him I was a die-hard Leinster fan. Sipped his pint and left. Ah well.
The barman explained it to me later.

Oh I thought you meant on here. In general, had a nice discussion at the club the other day on underage rugby in general and on how out club is doing.

Is AWOP for real lads? If he's not, it must so hard to speak that foreign English. I have my doubts, I really do.
Could be Welsh. More likely English.

Gibbo, he is a pishtaker. It is alledged by others (although not by me as that would contravene house rules and result in punishment ) that he is Grey Ghost.

We've told them we are taking them out for dinner to their favourite restaurant in Kerry which is closing down this Saturday.
But what they don't know is that we have got the extended family from both sides there. 25 of us in total. They won't know what hit them!!
And as a sweetener we've hooked them up with a weekend in Rome. Im earning now and think its only right to look after them properly for this milestone.
That's fantastic Stag. Great attitude that will take you far in life.

My parents have a rule, a third to yourself, a third to them and a third to the bank account when you're under their roof. Works out alright.

If I am visiting Dublin for 3-4 days in a couple of months, what are the sites I should definitely see? I'm there for marathon but want to make the most of my time there. I know Leinster are playing a match which I'll try and catch (probably on TV though), also could anyone please suggest some hostels/pubs/good cheap places to eat?

You know the internet acronym SWIM- Someone Who Isn't Me? Basically used meaning not me (wink wink actually it's me).
Well, on an unrelated note SWIM is pretty sure he is the tiresome idiot WUM previously known as thegreyghost. SWIM wishes he would sort his life out.
I, on the other hand, think he's an excellent poster who like me does not contravene any rules of this site

Too true, and we can't pick our parents either. It's something that I do secretly envy a bit. Having good parents. Contrary to what we're told, you never ever get over having poor ones. You get on with things cause you have to, but you don't get over it. That's my take on it anyway.
New O's shirt is out on Friday. I hope it's tidy.

Nice one on the stuff for your folks.
"Whats the most interesting rugby discussion you've had recently?"
Well, it wasn't that recent (early June) - the convo I had with Cari and Penfro about Welsh rugby, and rugby in general, in the Traders Tavern in Cardiff was a good one.
Meeting up with kiwi is usually good for an insight into NZ stuff (and Aus).
On here, the pre-season friendly thread has been good because there wasn't any of the petty shoite you can get. Plus I guess I like to be informed about what's going on with other teams from their own fans.

CJ - ideal hostel for you is this:
http://www.hostelworld.com/hosteldetails.php/Isaacs-Hostel/Dublin/107?source=adwordsdublinnames
I stayed on the one in Store Street in 2011. Around the corner on Talbot Street is (at least I hope it's still there) a greasey spoon that does a lovely breakfast for a couple of Euros.

Didn't we have a couple of good discussions in France Stag? My old memory isn't what it used to be but I can remember you agreeing with almost everything I said. Mind you I did admit to having an older man crush on young JJ

We had a superb discussion in France. But I get the feeling that we would not have enjoyed it as much online.

YEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH...aren't mams brilliant? They give birth to you, you know, they 'have' you, an' that. And then they look after you, for as long as you want. You don't have to pay 'em or nowt, fantastic. In fact, they pay you, pocket money and that, you know? Brilliant. And they've got this special magic way of puttin' your socks on, where they turn 'em 'alf inside out. I love mams, they're brilliant, and they're all different, which is brilliant, 'cause if they all looked the same you wouldn't know which 'ouse to go to for your tea. That'd be terrible wouldn't it, you might not be ready at the time you normally have it. Dads are all right but mams are better, mams are softer, and they smell better, and they do the cooking. ................................

Ah, well. Both my Ma and Da are long gone; before I'd reached 20. I'm very lucky I've got some good friends across several different social circles built up over the years.
Here's to nice people.

Why do news reporters put on a French accent when they say Julian Assange's name? He's Australian. No one puts of a French accent when they say Richie Benaud's name.

Then it's hair, nails and makeup
For Mrs. R of course. Men at weddings must not outshine their partners, so its normal grey suit for me.

Just phoned Rodney Parade ticket office - it turns out they aren't posting tickets for tomorrow's London Irish game for people like me whose final season ticket payment hasn't been made yet, so I'll have to go to the ticket office to collect a free ticket tomorrow.
Presumably the woman I spoke to last week who said they would print out a ticket and post it to me was a cleaner who answered the phone and decided to spin me a yarn.

Gibbo,
Thank you very much for the kind words. Very much appreciated. I loves my mummy and I am not afraid to show it and tell people.
Had my first sleep in my new house. I seem to have a memory foam mattress, I thought I'm meant to be a student.
Stag,
I haven't had a decent rugby conversation for a long time and its even longer since I had a decent one about Irish rugby on here.

It's no bother really Breaker, the ticket office is at the ground. I just thought it was funny (it would have been annoying on another day) that when I first phoned last week, they said they'd send a ticket in the post. It's just as well I phoned them today really.

Don't be so hard on the Dragons Luckless.
I am trying to turn over a new leaf and support the Dragons. As you now have a Munsterman on your books its all good same as how we all loved Dragons for that few weeks Declan Kidney coached them. Also I work in a place called Newport. It must be fate!
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Mendoza
Well, well, well. SBW has just arrived here and has been jumped on by NRL journalists. They're obviously trying to remind him of his sudden departure in 2008 from the Bulldogs. (He's back here next year for the Roosters)
So far he's handling things well. He says he's got to remember to pass the ball to Ma'a on Saturday.

Sure we can ditch them. We don't need that kind of riffraff supporting Dragons.
BTW which is most acceptable Gwent Dragons or Dragons. I know Newport Dragons is a no no

I've already posted this in the FB pub, but here's my picks from the pub meet down at Chez Mick https://s1147.photobucket.com/albums/o556/kiwireddevil/Micks%20Summer%20Bash%202012/
The light conditions over the weekend there were fantastic, so I went a bit overboard trying to capture it.
