The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Colwyn Bay
First topic message reminder :
Hello and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub, a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The pub has made its way to Colwyn Bay, where the Tier 2 AIs are currently taking place.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of Bob Scott and Malele Kunavore above the bar.

No more choppers for me but if i get into any financial trouble i might do it again. Crashing in choppers is quite profitable

Jeez Glas! Any chance of you posting something that isn't sensationalist or offensive?
Good morning? What are you trying to say man? That New Zealand have every elite ref in their pockets?!
You've really gone and done it this time.
Good morning, bytheway, hope all is good?

God I hate this place. It's like the Cwps (Cooper's Arms) in Aberystwyth when I was a student. Proper dive, but I couldn't keep away.

You know, there's something in that.
One of the best sessions I had was when I went for a haircut at 11 in the morning and called in "for one" on the way back to campus. Did the Times crossword with the alkies. Thinking doesn't half make you peed!

Unplanned sessions are, without a doubt, amongst the finest times you ever have in your life.
In 1997 I went out to get a bottle of milk and a steak bake, and ended up in Torquay for the weekend sleeping on the beach, it was during the Lions tour and I watched the second Test through some very beery goggles.
I seem to remember a pile of disco biscuits and "Spin-Spin Sugar" on endless repeat on the jukebox too, but maybe I was just tired?

I was in Lloret De Mar watching that one, but I wasn't sleeping on the beach.

Thinking of making a rugby comeback in the new year.... watching young Gilroy swivel through defences there has made me think of what might have been.....
Want to run a marathon in june though too.... not sure if I'm biting off more than my ticker/back/knees/lazyitis can chew....any advice from the fit squad?

Rodder's: you could try and just train for a bit and play for a 2nds team that wouldn't be as fast paced? Marathon in june would mean you'd get a month's rest from rugby before it and just make sure you do your long run's on a mon/tues to allow for recovery before rugby.

2nds team! I'll be 32 mate! They don't have the player welfare program here at club level you know!
I was thinking more 3rds-4ths or one of the lower league clubs initially....show a few fattys how its done . Not sure if my knees and back would be up to the long runs though... I run a bit but usually between 5 - 9 miles max... thinking that the longer runs could be brutal enough.

You've got enough time to extend your run's by half a mile a week, that's only like an extra 4 minutes/1 power song! You should be fine fella, just don't get injured I guess!

Awww. I explained they weren't that bad. I had emailed Biltong a link to the thread and didn't want him to see a minor bickering match caused by a couple of people talking at cross purposes

I'm afraid you have to wait Driver, getting excited about Christmas is illegal for the over-14s and it's also now illegal to start playing Christmas songs before December 24th. New EU Directives mate, sorry but it's kind of cancelled.
