Rooney is a huge miss. Clear evidence of why they need him.
I had forgotten my rule of not talking to Liverpool or Man United fans during their games.

I'd suspect if Rooney was playing this he'd have got a red frustrated at the rest of his team.

Liverpool are just like England. 1-0 up, and sinking deeper and deeper as the game wears on, with some 'hit and hope' thrown in for good measure.

Very confusing United performance. Just no quality. Neither side has looked particularly good in attack, but Liverpool are doing their jobs well and United are letting them

Very solid performance from Liverpool, they can be very proud of that and full credit to Brendan Rodgers.
United, very poor. Lots to improve on. New signings are a complete must.

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread
Wrote that after the Villa game. Now Liverpool are 3/3, still haven't conceded, and have just beaten the Champions. 6 very winnable games up next in the league, before a trip to the Emirates. Could be a very exciting season for Liverpool!Duty281 wrote:For me, Liverpool are a lot like England at the minute. Solid, with some class players littered around, and a bloody good manager at the helm. 2/2 for Liverpool. 100%. Next league game is home to Man Utd. What on earth will Liverpool supporters be thinking if they pull off a victory in that game?
After United, Liverpool have six winnable games in a row. A chance to build up a head of steam, perhaps? Never say never where the top 4 is concerned. Especially if Liverpool are there or thereabouts at the end of November.
And Rodgers is a bloody good manager. He's shaping Liverpool the way he wants to shape them, and it's working. Liverpool would have never won this type of game last year, or two years ago, or three years ago. Liverpool are starting to go in the right direction.

One of the worst performances I've ever seen a united side give. The players weren't even moving into positions, nobody had any urgency or desire. It was absolutely terrible.

Hats off to Liverpool, they were solid throughout.
We though were just shocking, lack of communication, drive, passion, energy, movement, vision and pride. They looked like a team that was finishing the season playing for a mid team spot not one going into an early season marker v one of their bitterest rivals and historically the game of the season in the English league.

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread
Excellent performance.
Not going to get carried away but I think that was the best performance yet from Liverpool this season, would rather they didn't always sit back after scoring one goal but defensively so solid today.
Glen Johnson was my man of the match today, before his injury he was showing everybody why he's one of the best right backs in the league. For those who doubt how much he has improved defensively, just had to watch today's game. I was also really impressed with Jose Enrique, Jordan Henderson and Lucas who all did their bit to hold United off. Sturridge got his goal again, but did look a little injured for the whole match.
For those who said Coutinho should have been in the middle, you saw what happens, he just drifts out wide into the space. He's best starting from the left, he always cuts in anyway but has the space to work with rather than getting crowded out in the middle.
Did think United were poor, but that shouldn't take away the credit for Liverpool's defence, it was very good today. Think United need some midfielders, Giggs, Cleverley, Young, Nani were all very poor today, Carrick didn't show me why he gets plaudits either.
Great game from a Liverpool's fan perspective.

Completely agree. Truly abysmal, horrific from start to finish. Cleverley is shambolic, never a United player in a million years. RVP had no service, urgently need creativity......is Fellaini the answer, no in my opinion.Ent wrote:One of the worst performances I've ever seen a united side give. In the other game today, Swansea have beaten West Brom 2-0 at The Hawthornes and it seems it was a poor WBA performance.
Bottom of the league after 3 games, yet to score a goal.
Should imagine some fans are getting restless at the lack of money spent

Im not a Man United fan, the bitterness is not there. Sturridge's goal was quality from him, wonderful and excited me to see him continue that form. But the game was poor, low on quality and stats show United were a little on top. Good start, but dont get carried away, that was my message!

I'd sign both Fellaini and Herrera. Carrick really too immobile to play in a midfield duo against 3.

As for Liverpool why on earth Rodgers would want to break up the Agger/Skrtel CB pairing I don't know. I've said it for a long time now, one of the best in the league together. Would be madness to split it up
