Summer Transfer Window
First topic message reminder :
Sunderland are apparently on for will Buckley again this weekend. Another one from Brighton.
Also after Nacer Chadli from spurs and Jonas from Valencia - along with still trying to persuade fabio borini.

Don't think that's a bad deal for Hull. He's an experienced Premier League defender who will likely come cheaply. Offers experience and his lack of pace will be less exposed in a back three.

Re: Summer Transfer Window
Van Gaal said last week he didn't have a ronaldo or di maria. Week later we look like signing Di Maria.
This week, he says we don't have a messi or vidal. Maybe again he has subtly told Ed to go and get Vidal now.

Truly staggering fee for Angel Di Maria. A player that Manchester needs, but surely it spells the end of Juan Mata's stay in England.
Lord only knows what Manchester will pay for Daley Blind, Nigel de Jong and Arturo Vidal...

I think Dawson is definitely better than Richard Dunne and Curtis Davies and James Chester etc. are quicker than Ferdinand so not as exposed.
Dawson isn't fantastic but he's definitely good enough for Hull.

Re: Summer Transfer Window
I loved Dawson as a player a few seasons ago when he and deadly Ledley were the best pairing in the PL (might have been the year Crouchy scored to make sure Spurs pipped City for 4th?). Since then injuries have ruined him but I wish Utd had bought him back then.

I would have had Hangeland at Utd 4/5 years ago. He was quality.

Re: Summer Transfer Window
We had it last year, it was so bad we signed Roger Johnson. Yeah.
Dawson is good enough for Hull. I wouldn't want him particularly at our place, saying that, but he isnt awful. Just a bit slow and susceptible to having that exposed in the kind of system Spurs will be playing.
Carlton Cole looks like he might be off to Bournemouth :'(

Di Maria fee agreed: 59m possibly rising to 63. Great signing and not worried about the fee, its what we have to pay and i'd rather us spend on a world class player than servicing debts!
Don't understand the e'to deal to everton. For me he's an average striker now and doesn't offer anything. Think Naismith is more than a decent back up to Lukaku.

Re: Summer Transfer Window
That makes him what the 6/7th most expensive player of all time, yes Neymar's official fee was lower but with the multitude of adds it's far far higher.
Bale
Ronaldo
Suarez
Rodriguez
Neymar
Di Maria/Kaka
Not entirely sure why SSN are reporting that Suarez's fee was less than that, i'm more inclined to believe Liverpool when it comes to transfer dealings than Barcelona.

John will be delighted to know that Olivier Giroud is out for 3 months with a broken foot. Only our players block the ball and get injured.
Really need a forward now.

Sanogo is the only genuine forward you have left isn't he Nando?
I'd chuck Podolski up top personally, he played there enough before his move to Bayern saw him drop back.

Re: Summer Transfer Window
I don't think the Vidal deal is dead at all. Its all about whether its worth the risk with his knee. Personally, I think it is but I wouldn't totally be again not getting him, signing De Jong as a short term option, Carrick to come back from injury also, then go for Strootman in Jan. No chance Strootman will turn down utd and Van Gaal although he will cost around 30-35m

I'd keep hold of Podolski, although he hasn't impressed on the few occasions he has started up front. Guess Loic Remy may be considered if Giroud is out long term.

Id rather pay 35m for him then 60m for Di Maria was worth about half that last summer
Well Mr Di Marzio seems to suggest we're after Cerci from Torino.
Wouldn't be surprised if Arsene made a late move for Eto'o since a freebie.
We have enough pacy people so need a taller kind of forward

Di Maria suits United whereas Sanchez suits Arsenal, it would never be a choice between the two. We needed more guile whereas you need pace on the ball.

How di maria is worth that much is beyond me it really is. Good player? Yes. World Class? Not a chance in hell
Fabregas = 1/2 di Maria?
Wow just wow
Or:
Di Maria and David Luiz = More than 100 million?

Re: Summer Transfer Window
Reports out of Amsterdam that Manchester United have agreed a deal to sign Daley Blind. Good signing. Multi functional player.
I do believe that Arturo Vidal will be a Manchester United player. I think Kawaga and Hernandez will be used as makeshifts so cash figure will be around £15m-£20m

Re: Summer Transfer Window
What Cesc Fabregas is worth isn't comparable to what Angel Di Maria's worth.
Fabregas' stock fell during his time in Barcelona. He was generally the most ineffective midfielder they had.
Whereas Di Maria created plenty of chances whilst at Real Madrid.

Fabregas 'decline' at Barca is massively overstated in my opinion. In fact only Di Maria had more assists than him in La Liga last year.

Re: Summer Transfer Window
Di Marzio has said Juve have officially enquired about Hernandez. Surely that makes the vidal deal so much more easier. Offer him plus cash and we'll get Vidal. Could be a massive week in the history of utd and might see us spend the cash and get the players required at the start of this summer. Better late than never!

Re: Summer Transfer Window
I'm not sure that Blind is overrated, underrated or anything else.
LvG wants a player that can play in multiple positions. He fits the bill. In years gone by players like Phil Neville and John O'Shea filled that role.
