Summer Transfer Window Thread 15/16
First topic message reminder :
I think the other point...is we need defenders....badly!
Surely we have enough to cover the attacking options.

That's hilarious.
Neymar in the PL would be of Robinho standards tricks get kicked then roll for the next 10 mins.

Utd have more chance of signing Neymar as I have of a threesome with Karen Gillan and Megan Fox.

Love that the Sun continue to go on about it today by saying Neymar's agent was at Old Trafford yesterday and had a picture of Pini Zahavi sat in the crowd on the back page.
Slight problem is that Pini Zahavi isn't Neymar's agent.

This was the photo:
Neymar's actual agent is Wagner Ribiero. Zahavi is close to Utd and especially Fergie, personally based on that photo I'd suspect he's there to try and sweet talk DDG into a new contract.

Re: Summer Transfer Window Thread 15/16
I find it totally baffling that Van Gaal continues to insist they don't need a new forward and there isn't much talk of United going for one. Last year they struggled up front and three of the best forwards of the past decade in their squad. This year they've got Rooney who's struggling as the number 9, Hernandez who was loaned out last year and wasn't fantastic at Real Madrid and...Wilson? Think United have done some good business, but striker should be their priority right now, even the central defender position looks alright at the moment.

Centreback wise I'm sure Utd will get found out once they play a big gun but somehow at present its just not getting tested. Saw something the other day that said since November last year Utd have conceded fewer Premier League goals than anyone which is bizarre considering the calibre of centrebacks at Utd.

We're already being priced out of moves for strikers...let alone selling one so teams know that we're really desperate so hike the price up more.
He's arguably our best all round striker too...I'd like to see him given a go in the side ahead of Jerome personally

Re: Summer Transfer Window Thread 15/16
The West Ham board seem to have woken up. Song has failed a medical but not in a way that has scared us off over long term issues so should sign. Barton may be signed to fill the gap whilst Song recovers from ankle surgery.
The exciting news is that Simone Zaza of Juve has got the West Ham world buzzing over a possible loan move. Between that and there seemingly being calls for a pacy wide player like Moses, and Adebayor still being linked as apparently that rumour won't go away, we might end up with a respectable squad.

Also seems like Borini might go to Inter on loan whilst the other side in Milan have got agreements in place for getting Balotelli on loan.

And WBA reject another bid for Berahino. Think it might be time for Spurs to give up.
Mail and ESPN think West Ham are preparing a move for Nottingham Forest winger Michail Antonio. Could include Matt Jarvis. We appear to be doing our usual when we fancy signing a player; approaching a few at once. I reckon up top we're after one of Yilmaz, Adebayor, Ben Yedder or Zaza, whilst on the wing we like Moses, Gervinho, Antonio and I would bet we will ask about Lennon too. Most depressing links are to Agbonlahor.

Anything more than £22mil is a bit steep for Berahino, we all want to see English players prosper at the bigger teams but i'm sure Tottenham could get someone in from the continent who's both better and cheaper.

I'm a tad skeptical...it is the daily mail after all. But it's all quite specific...and it is a tad weird that we have no striker on the bench tonight...

5m and Jarvis I heard for Antonio. Slightly improved bid gets it done I guess
Including a player is the key thing I guess, heard Boro might use Adomah or Carayol in a similar bid

Id give you an extra £1m to take Jarvis to be honest. I like taking a punt on players who have performed in the Champ, and he's got pace which we lack desperately.

I'm unsure on Antonio. I kinda assumed he'd be your typical inconsistent winger and fade back to frustration again this year. But hes started pretty well.

Re: Summer Transfer Window Thread 15/16
22m is way too much for berahino. Everton fan on talk sport made some good comments on stones situation, saying he has a 4 year contract and that he should be kept another year as realistically his price won't drop, which I have to agree to some extent as long as he performs as he has done, which i'd put money on him doing. Everton could do what we did with ronaldo, and say stay another year, give us some loyalty and then at the end of the season, if we receive 'X' amount for you then we'll let you move on.

Re: Summer Transfer Window Thread 15/16
Pretty gutted, Llorente going to Sevilla means we don't get Zaza. So it'll probably end up being Yilmaz.
On that, we have a really weird column on our website where a pretend "insider" writes like he has information to give out that he shouldnt have. Its bonkers but somewhat entertaining. Suggests we are after a striker from a "top" European league, a striker with Prem experience (Baddebayor), a winger with pace (Moses? Antonio?) and a midfielder (Assume thats Song). Thats of course if we get the targets and its not Sullivan being a kn*b.

GSC, hearing that Antonio fee agreed and both him and Jarvis are set for medicals. Could be a Jarvis loan, which i'd imagine is because of your wage cap cos of FFP (which is apparently now £10k?)
And now theres another local reporter saying the fee isnt agreed as we offered £4m plus Jarvis. I don't know any more.

Asier Illarramendi rejoins Real Sociedad
Victor Valdes joins Besiktas
Bayer Leverkusen forward Heung-Min Son is reportedly on his way to London to undergo a medical at Tottenham. Fee believed to be in the region of £18m. He looks like a 1 goal in 3 game man, hardly inspiring stuff from Spurs, especially after signing Clinton N'Jie.

Be interested to see where Heung-Min Son fits in at Spurs. Guess Lamela/Townsend heading out the door, Last i heard Juve were after Eriksen/Oscar.

That's exactly what we need - although with grabban now being suspended we do need a striker as well

I fully expect Adebayor to be in a West Ham shirt very soon, possibly in time to play Saturday. After such a promising start, this is what it has come to. Lets just hope its a loan deal so Ade does that weird thing where he's good because he wants a contract.

Can only assume we are bringing in more players before the window closes, otherwise it is a silly move to let him go.
From his development perspective it is smart though, really hasn't hit the sort of heights I wanted/expected him to. Has rarely put in a performance that justified his price tag..

KDB will be a disappointment I feel. At £58m he's been signed as a top, world-class, elite player, and with the supposed £300k per week wages, he's being paid like one too. Having seen him fail dismally at Chelsea, I think City fans may see Sterling as a relative bargain come the end of the season. All depends really on if Aguero can stay fit because without him, they're light up top.

Bit rich of Dick Advocaat to complain about previous managers wasting money on average players when he's just signed Ola Toivonen.

Ola Toivonen is a far better signing than Will Buckley, Jordi Gomez, Dozy Altidore, Emanuele Giaccherini, Mavrias, Scocco or a host of terrible signings made in the last couple of years. Toivonen is a solid international with good pedigree and akin to someone like Bafetimbi Gomis for potential impact imo.
