Interestingly, when then introduced Danny Willett in the masters, they introduced from Sheffield in the midland of England, always hilarious to bring up in conversation with people from there....
If I see another interview with that captain from Rotherham golf club, Jesus that is a guy who wants his 15 minutes. You'd think he'd won the cocking thing himself.
Good fact Tina. I'm that hairy I'm not far off myself.

One of the only things I miss from Runcorn is the fish and chips from the chippie I used to use. It was on Festival Way (colloquially known as Fezzy Way as no one from the North West can ever be bothered to say a word as long as Festival) and by heavens was it wonderful.
It was the sort of place that only Northerners can relate to. You had to walk in and bellow what you wanted from the back of the queue. You had to walk in and shout "3 FISH AND CHIPS, 3 PEAS AND SOME FISH BITS". If you didn't yell loud enough, you were (metaphorically) f*cked. They wouldn't have your fish in the fryer. It was dog eat dog.
I took Mrs Windows in there in when we were courting. I think it was her first or second trip up North. I didn't say anything and she was absolutely bemused by what was going on. Canadians are so unfailingly polite, she couldn't believe that people were shouting out their orders. This is woman who can catch and gut fish, wrestle bears to the ground and wrangle snakes. But she was terrified of a fish and chip shop!
Happy days.

Sorry to spoil yours/Rowley's fun, but it's been genuinely enjoyable debating with you Rick.

Another amazing fact for you, Tino. Enjoy
The top speed demons are both sizeable animals from tropical Queensland, Holconia hirsuta and Beregama aurea, who run 42 or 31 body lengths per second, respectively. Compare this to the world-record-holding human, Usain Bolt, who runs at a sluggish 5.2 body lengths per second.

Re: The Culture Cup Round x - Adam is a naughty naughty boy
Morning Shah.
I particularly like the photo of the lichen species Pandercetes gracilis... can barely see the bugger. Fantastic creatures.
See the bit at the end where she says: Treasure your huntsman spiders. They deserve a place alongside koalas and kangaroos as iconic Australian wildlife.
Couldn't agree more. However, they still give you a bit of a fright when they dart out at such speeds from unexpected places.

Wonderful stuff, LD. Thanks.
The spider in the video is a funnel web isn't it? Their fangs are brutal. Something very menacing about how they rear up ready to bring the hammer down.

It's thr nightmarish look. Bears ans gorillas do a similar thing but look half cuddly. Spiders on the other hand were seemingly designed to scare 7 shades of sh*t out of you. Same with crabs lobsters and scorpions though crabs are rendered less frightening looking because they're always dancing side to side.

Why don't you just meet up with sean once a week that way you keep your highly sought after job and learn all about buggery there is to know. On a serious note. Can you not do a distance learning course?

I'm tired out with the commute and hate almost everyone in London (except for Galted who I love dearly). The people in my industry are changing dramatically. They are all highly educated, glorified computer programmers nowadays. No people skills, no feel for anything, just great at writing algorithms. The actual 'art' of trading is dying on it's arse. I have no desire hang around and talk to these people. Mrs Windows could go back to work as she is one of riCKs type and they are always needed to crush the souls of normal people.
I'm thinking 18 months and the little one (I've been done, I can't have any more) will be at nursery/reception and then I can leave it all behind. I've been careful as well, we don't have fancy cars or fancy holidays (too northern). I spent money on Spain but that has effectively paid for itself already. Other than that, there isn't much keeping me in a job that I grown to hate.
I might do some distance learning till I can get into it a bit more seriously.

Best of luck to you mate. You'll be the fourth of us going into a career you'd love to be doing. This bodes well for all CC members as the trend is that we will all eventually be doing our dream jobs. Except Rowley who will forever be sitting on the border with rifle slung over one shoulder and a man bag full of recieved bribes that he will take home and hide in vintage bisto tins

Yep, I really think so. I've been pondering it for a while and with news of Sean's new venture it has made me think even more.
Who would have thought that I'd be inspired by a Jurgen Klopp lookalike who makes up sexual encounters!

Re: The Culture Cup Round x - Adam is a naughty naughty boy
Start a new job on Monday so mightn't be here as much as I would like.
It's with a well run co. specialising in private schools. I'll be doing some work for a private girl's school initially. Seems these places have oodles of $ to spend with the fees they are charging. Friggin' indoor/outdoor auditoriums and amphitheaters, high tech computer labs, olympic sized swimming pools, state of the art sporting facilities. Quite looking forward to it actually.
Tino, I forget exactly what part of the industry you are in... trading? If so, my brother has been through the wheels (last 20 years or so) in Asia with some of the big banks. Absolute w@ankers.
He is now currently trying to encourage them to go through smaller, more customised clearing houses with lower costs, less heavy regulatory red tape, etc. They (his contacts in Europe/US/Asia/Oz) just had a successful meeting in NY - they saw huge advantages in the idea.
Like you say, however, ripping their hair out working with some 'clever' programming types with no proper people skills... but they are getting there... slowly.

Like you say, however, ripping their hair out working with some 'clever' programming types with no proper people skills... but they are getting there... slowly.

Sean as an inspiration, blimey, there is hope for us all!
Beware though, even if it has inspired Tino to follow his dreams Sean has also inspired Alistair to bum frank bruno and Kellie maloney.

My job is slowly turning me racist. At the rate I am going Shah is fast going to become the only person of ethnic background I like, and he is one more Queen link away from losing that status.

Brian May's hair
Freddie Mercurys Tashe
Their music
Their willingness to play Sun City (twice)
Their nonsensical lyrics
Their music
Brian May's hair
Anita Dobson
The other two.
Their music.
Brian May lecturing anyone and everybody about fox hunting. You lost the right to have the moral high ground on any issue ever when you played Sun City you poodle permed c*nting bell end.

Anita Dobson would've sufficed.

Did they have kids? And if so, do we know what their hair is like?
I am going to assume it is now a bird sanctuary...
