The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the Tommy Bowe photo on the bar. That's a banning offence
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Yes Munsty there is a need I suppose. Could have been handled far better.
Nottins its not an English thing. Swanny, Hound or PcPete don't end up in these types of conversations.

Sorry regs. Really. In a real Pub, I could sort this out. But not here. You are right. Mea culpa.

I think we forget this isn't a real Pub sometimes. Its a written forum and though we know each other we forget ourselves. People can't pick up on your body language and place over emphasis on the power of the written word. When we'd be listening as well as talking in real life, there's nothing to stop your typing and typing, rambling away (like I'm doing now ) to your hearts content.

I do have the balls to say in real life what I said on here earlier and have done several times.
I had a full on Scotland/England/Great Britain argument in Scotland with a Scottish woman a few years ago. I asked my full on Scottish girlfriend the following morning if I'd been out of line, she said I was fine and the woman was an bum. She (the now ex girlfriend) didn't hate England rugby players, just England

Anyway. Rugby, rugby, rugby. Looking forward to the RWC warm ups. Half considering going to the Wales v England game as there are apparently loads of tickets still available.

Very loose interpretation of the rules. What's next? Oh Jaysus what've they done to Tommy's photograph... Where does it end?
Hardly relevant but since everyone was at it earlier...

Oh wait it is relevant. My Ed Balls comment kicked things off. Apologies.

Willy,
You didn't kick anything off. If that makes you feel good or bad... I dunno. It's sorted now.
Please don't tell the children. They will understand it - when they grow up.

Bore da Pawb Hope everyone's well.
My last day at work and then one more sleep til Dublin!! Looks like the weather may be kind to me too. I hope so, then I can look out the window on the plane. I liked doing that last time.
Mickado - I couldn't see that doco you were on about last night (obviously), but they might stick it on the International iPlayer at some point so I'll keep an eye out for it.

Morning all,
How's everyone? To say I'm tired is an understatement.
Need to get my project work for college done today for my presentation tomorrow.
But with practice from 7-10 again. I may need to do some of this on work time.
Too lazy to go for a swim today.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Cari – btw, we get the keys for the new place on Friday (hopefully!) but I’ll obviously still be in Eoin’s until the end of next week. That just means on Friday there might be a bit of running around hither and t’ither to sign the lease collect the keys etc.
I was thinking, how about this for a rough plan.
Thursday – I’ll collect you, we head back to mine, have a cuppa/bite to eat, head to the quiz.
Friday – I’ll meet you after work in town, how would you feel about a Stone Roses tribute gig in town? I saw them before and they’re class!
Saturday – we can do the croker tour and/or the Guinness storehouse
Sunday – watch all the games!
Monday – help me pack up!

Mickado - that's sounds perfick! And the Stone Roses gig sounds like good craic. I saw a Manics tribute band once and they were class.
As I said if you need help about the place, packing and things, I really don't mind helping and I'm good at organising things
I was going to add actually - on Saturday morning I think there's a Tri-Nations game? How do you fancy watching that over a cooked brekkie (done by mois!) first?

Just over 2 weeks to go for me before I get my 3 days off work and head off to a festival, tis my equivalent of a summer holiday so am praying for good weather

Great stuff. It’s a good pub for a gig too, scene of my first date with Amanda < >
Forgot about the trinations, and it looks like it’ll be the last game I watch on sky before the big move. Sounds great, but the only condition is that I cook brekkie. I’m a rubbish cook, but I make a special brekkie sandwich that has gained praise from all over the world. Well, Ballymoney and Limerick, but you know what I mean.

I didn't know it was Cari. Basically I was serving her at work in my bookshop and we were making small talk and she asked if I wanted to go out sometime. I suggested a drink and we arranged a meeting point (outside the police stataion) and we'd find a pub then. One of the nearer pub is next to the theatre and is apparanty a haunt for the thespians who prefer male company.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
The second place sounds more interesting!
Ah it's going to be fun. Looking forward to my trip.

As in gay people?
This place - The academy - isn't a good pulling bar as such. I didn't meet her there, but when i finally got the courage up to asking her out i took her to the only place i knew for sure she'd enjoy the music. On Saturday night's the place is called "propaganda", which is an indie club basically, i think they have them in the UK.
Prop, if you're driving, i urge you not to stand up for the anthem! If i remember correctly you don't have a sunroof!

I just hate being ruled over from overseas tbh.
I'd seriously like to see Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland try and go their own way without the financial support of English taxpayers. I don't think it would be pretty, worse than Greece I suspect.
They'd probably fair better than Wakefield would without the support of London taxpayers.

Yea basically a gay place. But not a gay bar. The kind of place where there are lots of closet gay patrons. Kinda like the worst kept secret in Limerick. Very into the arts and that. Very linked to poetry and drama and that. But it is a nice enough bar if not a bit cramped.
