The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the Tommy Bowe photo on the bar. That's a banning offence
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?
FYI, the last pub was :

Evening all, almost Torchwood time for me.
Hound, that 67m rings a bell actually, although can't think of the name. There are about 3 up and coming discuss throwers in GB athletics at the moment, didn't know one of them came from a rugby background though. Wouldn't want to face a guy that big on the rugby pitch!

Did anyone see the story about the London Irish academy player who looks likely to be chucking the discus for GB in the O'Lympics
Can't think of his name, but I saw him play for LI academy 7s at a tourny at Wasps training ground last year. A winger who is 6'6" and 20 st. A frightening prospect, but he's gone with Athletics. He's already chucked the discus 67m, which is unbelievable given he only took up the discipline a year ago.
Big Vic Costello went to the Olympics to do the shot-putt. Hurt his Irish selection chances for quite a while though choosing athletics over rugby.

Olivier Merle was a high standard(perhaps not OG) Shot putter, and then played with Grenoble and ASM;became known in French as Le Bird(merle is a blackbird)

Prop - cheers. That's the guy. He's a ringer for Lomu with his 'hairstyle'. But frikkin bigger!!
Jeebus, if Christian Wade had to tackle him it would be no contest.
Wadey would rip the ball off him and leg it to the try line

Loving the script in this... Dont know what the Yanks think of it tho... I read on a Torchwood site, that it has been dumbed down for them. Is that true? WTF was it like before?

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Try and watch some earlier episodes if you can too Gibbo. They're quite different but still good I think. End of the last season (not the one off episode they did), was brilliant, upsetting and emotional, but brilliant.
Loved that episode though, think this series is just getting better.
And with that, I'm off, going to chill out and read for a bit before getting some much needed kip.
