The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the Tommy Bowe photo on the bar. That's a banning offence
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?
FYI, the last pub was :

You are now in my top list of rugby buddies.. you're a personal hero of mine too
Oh, he's 'special' alright, barking at passing cyclists, licking car windows - yup, special

Met Hughie in Belfast first time as well. He was an Aquired taste but I love him so much now. it hurts my eyes..
I am raging about that meet though as I wasn't too familar with the pub quite yet and never realised really who mrs p was when you guys where talking to her. Actually thought it was Notch's relative or something but I didn't end up chatting to her properly.
Oops my bad on that one.
So no mention of when you met me first eh?

Never fear Willie, all will be fixed this season. Loads of opportunities to meet.
Ona Give my best wishes to your GF. I hope the hospital stay will be a success. This place is brilliant for saying things and venting feelings you wouldn't normally do in "real" life, so just let it flow mate.
The first time Mickado met me, I was in a bar in Dublin. There was Gibbo and I sitting with our faces pressed up against the inside of the window, and along came Mickado and his GF. Never did ask what he thought!
I have to say that everyone I have met has been absolutely brilliant. I have some friendships now that will last for ever and are not rugby dependent.

The problem you see about these meet ups is that they usually involve drink and therefore tend to mash up together.
what you need to do is be an absolute gent like RAVA and cook us a dynamite feed for the first time I met him.
how's a guy to forget that in a hurry??

If anyone is wondering who was the saddo that started these meets, it was joint between myself and Gibbo, though I did meet Kia in 2008 and Mickado briefly before the France game in 2009.

Just got a box of sweets from a co-worker for giving him legal advise which helped get his kids back from social services.
I feel bit embarrassed as I didn't give him any advise. I just explained the the letter he was sent and referred him to a solicitor.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
I think Rava and I have the same take on this -
We are family
I got all my sisters (and brothers) with me
We are family
Get up ev'rybody and sing
Ev'ryone can see we're together
As we walk on by
(FLY!) and we fly just like birds of a feather
I won't tell no lie
(ALL!) all of the people around us they say
Can they be that close
Just let me state for the record
We're giving love in a family dose
(CHORUS x2)
Living life is fun and we've just begun
To get our share of the world's delights
(HIGH!) high hopes we have for the future
And our goal's in sight
(WE!) no we don't get depressed
Here's what we call our golden rule
Have faith in you and the things you do
You won't go wrong
This is our family Jewel

Is €60 per month too much to spend on phone bills do you think?

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Mick I am looking into getting an iPhone and my current provider would cost me €60 per month. You reckon the €45 per month would do grand?

red_stag wrote:Is €60 per month too much to spend on phone bills do you think?
yes, quite simply.
I pay €20 per month on Vodafone pay as u go.......
Ok, Im a big texter and that gives me free text to any network plus free internet (essential if ur getting a smart phone) but that basically means I have €20 to spend on calls in every 30 day period.

But a smartphone will cost several hundred euro on pay as you go.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Stag what do you get for 60 euros a month.
I couldn't recomend an iPhone enough. I love mine. It's permanently attached to my hand. Great for browsing 606v2 when you're on the move as well. I'm on £30 a month and I was able to get my 3Gs for free.

Willy, you get iPhone 4, free calls to anyone else on my network, free text messages to any Irish phone, a few GB (can't remember how much) of internet usage.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Well Stag, pay €60 a month on bill, which is €720 a year.
But it as pay as you for €400 with €20 a month for credit and you make you save yourself money.

Well, I have a Sony Ericsson xperia x8 and it cost me €90.
Now, its an ok phone but is small and a bit fiddly. But the htc wildfire is highly regarded and that costs €200

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Stag, take a few minutes off and go into the Vodafone shop (or other). Speak to the manager and tell him what you are looking for. If you can pay something up front - 100 or so then the monthly tarrif should come down a bit.
If you want to send texts and make calls outside Ireland then make sure it's included, but this will be where they will hammer you.
I got my wife on my contract for £25.00 a month and paid £120.00 for the iphone.

I'll have to do some research in the shops at weekend. I'd rather not change my network as many of my friends and my girlfriend use it and I'd get free calls to them.

Nokia N8 does everything an iPhone can do and more. It has a better screen and camera. It cost me £100 on a £25 per month contract. I wanted the Samsung Galaxy SII but couldn't justify paying £200 for something that is just a phone.

What a weekend My first BIG meet. Had met Munsty in Clohessys in May 2009 - Munster v Ospreys and briefly met MickyT and 'Kado at the HEC Final 2009 in Edinburgh
On the way to meet Gibbo at the Cardiff (Non) International Airport on Friday, I meet Kia to pick up The Cider for Turns out Kia and I worked on a large IT project in da Diff but never worked together
Up on the train to Leicester on Saturday - remembering to ring 30 minutes before we got there
Couldn't sleep with Gibbo's snoring, so get up to go and sleep in the bathroom. In the dark I ended up stepping on Munsty's head as he was asleep on the floor
Then back on the train to da 'Diff on Sunday to watch the 'Boys in Blue' stick it to the Blues, taxi from Newport because the trains were all phooked up. Happy happy days and long may they continue
