The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the Tommy Bowe photo on the bar. That's a banning offence
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Evenin' all. Grand evening down the Parade with Rev and Penfro. It was especially good to meet Penfro because I didn't get to talk to him that much at the Heino wingding. He's a gent, as I'm sure you all know, but he's great company during a match. We talked England, we talked Wales, we talked selection and tactics, it was just plain good.
And Russia scored the try of the night. The number eight made ground, drew the man, passed out of the tackle to the scrum half who passed to their (relative giant of a) left wing, who beat maybe three men before passing inside for the full back (I think) to score. Cue applause from Dragons fans who know good rugby when they see it.
Dragons fans also know how to tweak a terrace chant.
He knocked it onski, he knocked it onski...

40-12 to the Dragons. Some good stuff on show. Both Tovey and Matthew Jones kicked their conversions well. The only negative is Wayne Evans has cracked something in his shoulder so he thinks he's out for six weeks. The new scrumhalf Joe Bedford looked sharp though and we have Jon Evans, so it's not too bad.
Our kits are pretty tidy too.

The new shirt looks really good, maybe even worth the money they're asking. A bit Toulousain.
Prop, Russia had a solid scrum, but their try aside, Glaws should be able to contain them.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Evening folks
Had a very rare day today, a day where it was just me and the wife and no kids. Went out for a walk and did some geocaching and picked blackberries which we took round to herselfs nan who will use them in a pie or crumble, and had tea and scones while we were there.
Very unproductive day, but really nice. Everyone else in the house is now asleep, and I'm settling down with a cuppa to watch the weekends ITM Cup match between Bay of Plenty and Hawkes Bay.
Glad to hear some of the Welsh regs had a good meet up down at Dave. Talking of the Welsh I think that former Ospreys scrum half Jamie Nutbrown is playing for Bay of Plenty here.
Roll on the NH season.

Question for kiwireddevil when he's in...
How are ITM Cup teams affiliated with Super franchises? I am slightly confused as my understanding is that Hawles Bay are affiliated to the Hurricanes, yet they appear to have Hika Elliott (Chiefs), Khan Fotuali'i and Zac Guildford (both Crusaders) playing for them???

Sounds perfect, Pete. You and her with no these!
I'm itching for the new season to start. I honestly don't know who stands where of the home nations for the World Cup, which is awful for the coaches but bodes well for the tournament. It's hard to predict who'll do well from the Tri-Nations sides, too.

Quite a good day then with the kids and blackberry ducking, but surely you just needed to open your mouth and you'd have caught them all Sadly I've mostly been one a day this month apart from 22 one Saturday. Might go out for 11 new ones tomorrow.

We've not been out for any for ages nottins, was good to get out and get a few more logged today. Dropped of a TB that we've had for far to long, which can now hopefully continue it's journey to its' hoped for destination which is Scotland.

Indeed Pete, it's good for the kids to be outside and "treasure hunting". My last day off from it was May 26th 2010. A mate of mine has just stopped on a geostreak of 1111 days. I really must move on a trackable that I've had for about 3 months. Someone has finally picked up my own trackable that had been in a cache for over 6 months.

Pretty weird, but Hoffenheim use a device to play a signal everytime Dortmund fan's started a chant about their owner, and apparently it blocks out their chants.
Listen from 2.50 and at 4.00. It's a weird laser like sound.

lucky, it's checking trackable items in and out of places. I have a Yorkshire GeoCoin that I want to travel the world. It has a unique number on it, that you is only visible on the coin itself. http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=2505448
It may sound like a sad, geeky sport, but it gets people out and walking, which is good.

That's a shame. RIP Huw.
Back in Swindon now. Nice to have been back at RP. New stand will look decent with people in. Kits are decent. Tovey's goalkicking decent. Happy days really. Would've loved a few ales with Penfro and Luckless though.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Not that good. They spoiled an awful lot. I think they'll struggle in the RWC and get a fair few hammerings. Their second try was a beaut though and their scrum was ok. Both looseheads had the nudge though, so it's hard to say who was stronger. They also missed a few lineouts.

I agree we've avoided most of the banana skins. Samoa, Tonga, Canada, Georgia, Japan will all ask questions of bigger teams. Canada are a decent side, USA are... probably not as good, every time I've seen them play they've made a lot of errors (which is what the Aussies will be saying about us). I sense they shouldn't trouble us too much unless we underestimate them.

Still can't believe Samoa are fourth seeds. We got the USA and you got Samoa. Life isn't fair eh?
