The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing picture of Micky T above the bar!
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Take that back about Wade today - he's rested.
Prop - it was a brave call by young ref, Matt Carley, to award the penalty, which he must have known would decide the game.
If he got one thing wrong it was the early yellow card for Scottish full back, Augustin Gosio, nearly intercepted a pass but was pinged for a deliberate knock down. Harsh, because the ball nigh on hit him full in the stomach. Also it wasn't nice to hear some of the Welsh fans baying for a yellow card at the time.

ah Sunday lunch, can't beat it can you? yum yum yum.
I heard that a bloke glassed a girl in Llandovery Club last week, the stewards locked him in a room to await the Police, but he got out and was given an absolute hiding by the locals. It is like the Wild West up there sometimes.

Are you referring to Wayne Barnes at the end of yeterday's match?

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
I know, that's why I'm a bit gutted.
We'll be without: Smiler, Tav, Rhys, Georgie, Scott, Foxy and now Sanjay! we might also be without Stevo if he is allowed to play for the BaaBaa's (I think that;s also that weekend).
Going to be a big ask for us. We're against the Dragons without those players too, and they'll still have Brew and Tovey available. Another big ask! And then Munster the week after when we've had no time to prepare propely as a full squad An even bigger ask! 3 huge weeks of rugby coming up for us.

he might not be Prop, it's whether or not Scarlets release him, and seeing as we'll be without Rhys, I'm not sure we will.

If we do release him Glas, we'll be starting with either Dan Newton or Aled Thomas against the Dragons, and they ahven't played in the team for a few weeks now. Big gamble.
Very, very good performance by Leinster

Afternoon Kenny, enjoying your freedom?
There's Heineken Cup games on at the moment so it might be a bit quiet in here for the next couple of hours
And if you fancy a get in there quick before Prop empties the barrel

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Congrats to Leinster. O'Malley is a true 13 - hope they stop picking McFadden at 13.
On the notion that we should be satisfied with Munster because of our last minute drop goal in France I strongly disagree. That was a poor Castres team and our performance was nowhere near good enough.
Our positioning defensively on several occasions, continuing to guess when the referee is going to say engage and making knock on after knock on after knock on. We over ran the ball a bit and our decision to try a drop goal from approx 50m was lunacy.
I felt at one stage that a try bonus point was a possibility. Instead we were extremely lucky to win the game.

To add to that Stag, Leinster look imperious. The pendulum is swung in their favour. You'll be back.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
They do. Leinster are looking the business. They will qualify. I'm not sure will another Irish team. We have a chance but we need to win our next 3 matches and IMO need a try bonus point against either Scarlets or Castres in Thomond.
David Wallace, Keith Earls and Felix Jones will all be invaluable players to come back into the team. However they won't face Scarlets.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Afternoon all, hope you've had a good weekend. Mine started well on Friday night when I met up with Cari & Dreamer for a couple of drinks . Saturday arrived and it started to go downhill with a draw for the 'Hairsprays' and finally hit rock bottom with the Sarries going down 9-3 up in Llandrindod. I'm tempted to launch into a diatribe about the ref , but my Mam taught me that if I had nothing good to say about anyone then I should say nothing at all. So .......................

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
I see the Ospreys coach has come out and said that they underestimated Treviso.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
I don't how they could have underestimated Treviso though, after the mauling Treviso gave the Dragons a few weeks ago? I despair at the coaching at the O's sometimes, I really do.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
aaaaargh the Montpellier no6 is doing his best to scuper my SG pick. I have Bath by 3 (which they are currently winning by). He's already knocked on twice in his own 22 and now he's given away a stupid kickable penalty with only 5 mins left! Argh!
