First topic message reminder :

Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of Jonathan Davies (JD2), and all of the weekend's 6 Nations debutants above the bar!

Got to lay the ground work in first boys; lion king on, get to the part where mufasa dies, show some emotion and show what a caring sole I am and add in a few beers over the next few weeks and jobs a good un.

Evening pub, hope everyone is well.

I'm having a hard time convincing my body clock that I have to get up early tomorrow! Bath and an early night for me.

On the train going to my interview this afternoon I stuck my ipod on random for a little musical distraction and this came on:

Some of mine are best left forgotten, I used to live my life by the motto "if you're gonna be a bear, be a Grizzly". It's now more along the lines of "if you're gonna be a bear, don't forget to hibernate every once in a while".

Laugh sounds like a line from "The Castle"

Good Morning All!

It's been a long day. Out on an army base (they've all gone to new premises so it's quite eerie all empty). Trudging around buildings for hours. The wildlife has taken over the place. Encountered some aggressive bull ants (think I was standing on or near their nest when taking some snaps) ... the far-rucking baastards actually chase you! (I did a test; changed directions and so did they!)
Imagine us humans trying to attack 200-storey high giants. Those ants have some fairly decent sized balls. Swarms of wasps too... massive ones. Told them "I'll come back to take some photos later..." warning

On the plus side; some beautiful birds (of the feathered variety, lucky) including some Eastern Whip Birds (amazing sounds all day long!) and Pale Headed Rosellas

I think I need another 48 hours to make my 6N picks... disastrous first week.

- As poor as England seemed on Saturday I still think they may win a tight one in Italy. I don't think they will suddenly start scoring loads of points though and Italy don't really convince me...for the full 80 minutes at least.

- Wales should comfortably account for Scotland on form. I don't think Wales will take the foot off after their fine performance in Dublin; nor will Scotland up the ante even with DP retired).

- It's hard to look past France in Paris - I really would like to see Ireland break their 'voodoo' there... they possibly could - but they will have to crank it up a gear or two I feel.

Not sure, Lucky... probably we have our own native ones as well as the 'imported' European variety. Maybe they cross-breed too. Erm

I forgot to mention; I cut myself twice... blood all over the plans. Very Happy

I've just had a look at the BBC's 'six of the best' article on matches between Wales and Scotland - http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/brynpalmer/2012/02/six_nations_six_of_the_best_-_1.html - and this sentence leapt out at me:

'1982 - Wales 18-34 Scotland

The definitive end of the "golden age" as Wales' first loss at home in a Five Nations match since France won at Cardiff in March 1968 - a 14-year undefeated run spanning 27 matches (26 wins and a draw) - condemned them to the Wooden Spoon.'

That's one hell of an unbeaten run, isn't it?

'1982 - Wales 18-34 Scotland

The definitive end of the "golden age" as Wales' first loss at home in a Five Nations match since France won at Cardiff in March 1968 - a 14-year undefeated run spanning 27 matches (26 wins and a draw) - condemned them to the Wooden Spoon.'

That's one hell of an unbeaten run, isn't it?
lucky, an incredible run indeed, altho unlikely to be repeated in the modern era, i imagine?

It would be some achievement if that record was matched, Asbo. Having said that, I'd guess that England went a few years unbeaten in the championship at Twickenham in the early 2000s.
