The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of Jonathan Davies (JD2), and all of the weekend's 6 Nations debutants above the bar!

I suspect Asbo and Gibbo don't.

Just read this. You think you know people don't you .....
Tyson Fury has vacated his British and Commonwealth heavyweight titles, according to promoter Mick Hennessy.
Hennessy said: "Fury v Price was a quality fight and in my opinion it should go out to the widest possible audience. That's why I offered David Price £100,000 to fight Tyson Fury, which unfortunately was rejected by his promoter on Monday.
"Tyson's next steps and further information will be announced over the next few days."

Never mind Mick Hennessy, what about Tyson Fury? That's an excellent name! Which reminds me, there was a teacher on the news the other day called Judith Bleach. That's a good name too, although perhaps more suitable for a crime writer.

A policeman came into the office about an hour ago (nothing that concerns me, honestly!). He used my pen to write something down and what do you know, he's nicked it.

Happy Birthday rodders.
Arternoon all.
There won't be much local rugby on this weekend. Plan is to watch Ealing's first half v Sedgley Park at 3pm on Sat followed by Italy v England in the clubhouse. I suspect the pitch will be frozen solid, and probably covered in snow, which is forecast for Friday night.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
News on Ferris expected around 15:00 hours.
I said that Davies would probably get 5-8 weeks, and that was based on a mid range entry, a bit added as a deterrent for these types of tackles and then it being halved as he's normally a jolly good egg and plead guilty.
Ferris I expect will get 1-2 weeks which is harsh given I didn't even see it as penalty, let alone a yellow card and a citing.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
lucky –in answer to a previous comment. England’s home winning streak in the 6N wasn’t as long as you might think. It ended in 2004 (RWC hangover) when Ireland won at Twickenham 19-13). I seem to remember ROG banging over a few in that match.
England’s previous defeat in the championship was at the hands of France in 1997.
Mind you they handed out some fearful hidings in the seven years in between.

Ok lads literally its pretty simple. You just click "like" on our Facebook page.
If we get to 1300 fans by 14.30 tomorrow we do a random draw and someone will win two pacakges to France v Ireland heading out on Friday and back Sunday.

Tell me about it, Hound!
Although in fairness, England played a great brand of rugby around the year 2000 mark. A great balance of a power game and running rugby.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
In light of that he's incredibly lucky to have got 7 weeks, Penfro. The report says he had his ban reduced because of previous good behaviour and other things, but surely the simple fact that the ball was long gone should add at least as many as were deducted.

the BBC article says that Bradley Davies will be available for the Blues' Heineken Cup quarter final against Leinster. Am I right in thinking that'll be played at the Aviva? He'll get a warm welcome, I'm sure!

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
lucky - it was also an era when I could have cheerfully decked a few of the condescending England fans who used to rock up at bandwagon Twickenham.
The "Oh Wilko was splendid today" brigade.
"Yes, shame the Welsh/Irish/Scots couldn't give our lads a decent game, what".
I heard loads of 2ats like that, who had never been near a club game in their life.

Rodders - just the page itself. Real easy just be a facebook friends with the company. If we have reached 1300 by tomorrow a name gets picked for the trip.
We were going to have some kind of caption competition but this is so much more straight forward.
At 31 years young you should be a whizz kid Rodders!! Sure John Hayes only won his first cap at 38 and went on to play 100 times for Ireland.

Personally I'm looking forward to winning a few Heinken Cups with Munster. I'm only 23 so obviously I wouldn't be picked for Munster until I'm a bit older.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Hi all.
Played a blinder with the Heineken Cup Final haven't I. Mrs R is going to Inverness for the weekend, so I can attend the Heino (but not the Amlin as it's my presentation evening again). I've written on the event on FB that I will probably stay somewhere for the night and enquired what the craic is with tickets for the game.
Also on the massive upside, I should finally get to meet Asbo. Might even wear the old Welsh kilt in celebration.

Ah, lucky. The chats I've had with Welsh rugby fans down the years. You've had the talent, but by Christ the players took an age (Gatland + Edwards) to discover fitness and conditioning.
How the feck did the 2005 Slam happen? Actually my theory was a whole load of peed off Celtic Warriors players with a point to prove.
