The All New England v Wales bickering thread, 2012
First topic message reminder :
Same idea as the last one created by TycroesOsprey, but this time can we please stay on topic and no silly ponies.
"OK, every year we see threads that actually contain really good rugby discussion derailed by the ongoing Wales vs England bickering and WUMMING! I will name no names. I guess we have all been guilty.
Since most of the general bickering comes from the respective fans of Wales and England ; I thought I would create a thread for it in an effort to keep decent rugby discussion relatively WUM free in other threads. "
Let it commence

sure that's because young Welsh people move to England for Uni/jobs, get married, have a baby then move back to Wales to raise them, happens all the time.

It was a disgrace, given the circumstances.
Mock indignation really doesn't suit you Hershey. You're miles off on this one sorry. It was superhuman effort and I would have liked to give them a personal seal of approval even if they had lost that one given their effort.

Nah.
It was wrong they won by default due to two poor referring decisions.
The lap of honour was just wrong, and I guarantee if England had done the same I'd have said the same thing.

I would have, there was no honour in winning like that.
If the only way England could win on Saturday is to dump tackle players and hope for a poor Ref call, then I'd rather lose.
I really would.

Have to agree. As much as there can be a moral victory, surely there is a moral defeat.

Its amazing isn't it
Wales win by playing dirty and a bit of good fortune and its claimed a famous win, England win by sheer hard work and showing some guts and a bit of good fortune and its claimed to be a failure.

Still nothing to be proud of. I though the lap of honour was out of order. Even if the judge or jury let you off, it's not wise to go rub your victim's noses in it. Right?

It was wrong for the organisers to allow Davies to join in with inciting a post game riot - a soon to be convicted and banned law transgressor in the top category. What kind of example was that setting for young children?

Images like that only help to tarnish the image of the game, it deserved a proper Police investigation IMO.

Its true, leaving poor little Foden and his big mouth as the last line of defence against 6 tons of welsh backs is tantamount to a suicide mission.

How can Barritt have been capped by the Emerging Springboks and still be allowed to represent England? Do the ES not count as South Africa's A side?
Also I'm assuming he has an English grandmother, because if not he's a(nother) poach

So who said that? The least the BBC can do to disguise their blatant pro-English wumming is name a guilty party. "One of the Welsh players" is shockingly lazy journalism.
Almost as bad as feeling the need to document every Welsh player born outside Wales (North, Cuthbert, Davies etc) while conveniently leaving out that 6, count em, 6 members of Saturday's England squad (Hartley, Botha, Dickson, Tuilagi, Barritt, Stevens) are non-English born

To be fair with their tiny pool of professional players and pathetic resources we can't blame them for having half the team as foreigners.
It's not as if they could produce any home grown talent given the above is it .................wait a minute, what's that? Richest union? Best resources in the world? Biggest player pool by a mile?............ENGLAND?
There must be a mistake surely

You forgot to mention these gems quoted from a certain RWC-winning coach whom you would think obviously knows what he's talking about:
"World champions at wasting talent"
"A game based on fear"

Wales give out caps to retiring players just so they can do a forward roll infront of a full house, the Welsh cap has lost its value hence why Ben Morgan wanted to earn his.
Ben morgan realised he'd be hard pushed to get a start for Wales with all the talent we have. However, he also knew he could walk into the England side as he plays in a much more competitive league and even our own regional players who are not even considered as second choices for Wales (like himself) are so far above their English counterparts that the RFU would take him on as in that - albeit inferior - environment he will thrive.
Why have we got this thread anyway? There was nothing wrong with the other one that was exactly the same. Shouldn't they be merged?
Morgan IS and always WAS, English.
He was never going to play for Wales otherwise he would have done so at another level, he used the Welsh to raise his profile as he knew (like most of us English fans) that players get hyped when they play in Wales, even if they are average.
Then these 'average' players by Welsh standards get into to the starting 15 for England. Sort of proves my point really.

You mean like Shontayne Hape? Lesley Vainikolo aka the English Jonah Lomu? Danny Cipriani? Delon Armitage? All once destined to be part of the next England WC-winning side and assume their places on the decorated tier of legends...
How did that go for you btw?
