The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Belfast
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat. The pub has ventured to Belfast, as Red Stag is still struggling to come to terms with Munsters QF loss to Ulster
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of Brian McLaughlin, John Hart, Duncan Bell, Michael Lynagh, Mick O'Driscoll, Deiniol Jones and Shane Williams.
Get well "Noddy" Lynagh - our thoughts are with you.

There are fewer things in the world better than a good bikkie.
Anyone catch the Louis Theroux last night about autism? Really interesting. My heart goes out to the families in it, really tough work.

Didn't see it. A good friend of mine's son has autism, at the extreme end of the spectrum, its a terrible business.

Mick - couldn't bring myself to watch it, might brave it on the iplayer. Considering where I work, tisn't something I like to see then when I get home. Everyone I know who's watched it though said it was a v good programme.

Not sure I'll watch that one either Mick, just hits too close to home. I think I should try and watch them at some point though, they can certainly give a different perspective on things.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Belfast
Apparently the average price of Petrol has reached a new high today.
I've just received this email: -
Think a gallon of petrol is expensive? (about £6.45 a gallon)
This makes one think, and also puts things in perspective.
Diet Apple Juice 16 oz £1.29 ........... £10.32 per gallon.
Lipton Ice Tea 16 oz £1.19 ........... £9.52 per gallon.
Ocean Spray 16 oz £1..25 ............ £10.00 per gallon.
Brake Fluid 12 oz £3..15 ............. £33.60 per gallon.
Vick’s Nyquil 6 oz £8.35 ........ ..£178.13 per gallon.
Pepto Bismol 4 oz £3..85 ........... £123.20 per gallon.
Tippex (White out)7 oz £1.39 ........ £5.42 per gallon.
And this is the REAL KICKER.
Evian water 9 oz £1.49 ................ £21.19 per gallon.
£21.19 for WATER and the buyers don’t even know the source. (Evian spelled backwards is Naive.)
Ever wonder why printers are so cheap?
So they have you hooked for the ink. Someone calculated the cost of the ink at ................. (you won’t believe it .... but it is true ........)
£5,200 per gal ... (five thousand two hundred pounds)
So, the next time you’re at the pump, be glad that your car doesn't run on Water, Tippex, Pepto Bismol, or, God forbid, Printer Ink!
Just a little humour to help ease the pain of your next trip to the petrol pump.

Remember yesterday I was saying I now have a clear run to the final if I need it? a new spanner was thrown in the works last night by my Dad. He’s retiring that week and there’s a party for him on the 18th. So if I do need to get to London, I’ll have to fly on the Saturday morning. Going to be toight!

A gallon of Guinness at the Aviva next Saturday (4 pints each for Mickado and me) will set me back approx £33.40.

My sister is autistic, haven't seen the show so must check it out. I suppose communication is the hardest thing with her as her speech and vocabulary wouldn't be much better than a 2 year olds. Still I suppose our family haven't had too tough a time with it, she is usually very calm and doesn't tend to act out much.

Did know that Thomond, you should look it up and tell us what you think of it.
Glad to hear you haven’t had it that bad, it was quite a distressing show. One mother had to lay on her son’s chest to keep him from hitting her, and she said it happened at least twice a day.

You hear of those types of things Mick, especially with some guys, there are tough moments with biting, pinching and hitting but you just have to find ways to help out people or to keep them entertained.

Yeah my friends son was pretty aggressive there for a while, went on for a couple of years. They had to section him for a while. Think hes calmed down now with different medication but if his routine changes he still gets aggravated.

nice one Hughie.
I am undecided which rugby match to watch this evening. Obviously there's the Welsh derby and Shane's last match, but the result of that match doesn't really have any bearing on the Scarlets. The Ulster v Leinster one does....

Ah sure I did. I watched that on tv and cried when he scored his last try.
I just disagreed completely with that test, especially as Shane was due to retire after the rwc anyways, they just used it as a money spinning exercise blah blah, grumble, grumble, grumble...bah, stupid wru.

How funny was that tour guide in Millenium Stadium. He was a perfect microcosm of what I perceive as the stereotypical Welsh fan.
Got very excited about "Shane" and was proud as punch about the Millennium Stadium and the national team. When you suggested to him about the WRU harming Scarlets European chances to get money etc he looked extremely puzzled before he mumbled "but its Shanes last game!!". He also knew precious little about Ray Gravell.
