The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Belfast
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat. The pub has ventured to Belfast, as Red Stag is still struggling to come to terms with Munsters QF loss to Ulster
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of Brian McLaughlin, John Hart, Duncan Bell, Michael Lynagh, Mick O'Driscoll, Deiniol Jones and Shane Williams.
Get well "Noddy" Lynagh - our thoughts are with you.

Morning all, slightly fuzzy headed this morning, but all in a good cause - felt obliged to sample the 4 cask strength that I got in for Heino final weekend and the Auld fellas coming to stay. Think I'll be having a bacon and fried egg sambo this morning, lashings of brown sauce - num, num

Yes As, there's a very strong Scottish connection on the north shore of Sydney - they took their name after the Regiment.

Crusaders slaughtering the Canes... 32 zip after 35 mins. I knew I should have tipped them by more than a measly 10 points. Too late now.
Watched my local team the Gordon Highlanders (or Stags) defeat the mighty galloping greens of Randwick 29-22 this afternoon. Maybe they will have a good year in 2012.
It was an OK game, pitch heavy after all the rain... a few good tries from both sides but also some pi55 weak defensive lapses and a few too many errors. The Randwick captain took it on the chin after the match saying they were slow to react, etc and also mentioned the difficulties of communicating in Spanish with the Noriega bros from Argentina.
Morning. Randwick are the most famous Aussie club linebreaker, no? They play in The Shute Shield I think; is that just for Sydney clubs or does it cover all of NSW?
Anyway, shame you can't make the Heino final It really has grown into some occasion in such a relatively short space of time.
Kiwi - you have our spare now bud. See you at the TC in about three hours.

G'day Hound,
Randwick are the most successful club in Sydney... many Wallabies have played for them. They only have 1 point so far after 3 games this season but rest assured once the Super XV and Internationals finish here towards the end of winter... they go back to the club and usually help them finish pretty strongly.
Shame about not being able to come over for the Heino Final...
Even as a neutral it would be a marvellous occasion to experience.
Also, catching up with you guys would be a bottomless barrel of laughs I'm sure.
An all-Ireland final would be grand.... fingers crossed! (although ASM will be an obstacle for Leinster and even Ed might surprise)
Yes, the Shute Shield is the Sydney Suburban Rugby comp.

An hour and forty minutes to kick off in the biggest game of the weekend, Highfield U-17s for Clonakilty U-17s for the Cork league final! Highfield missing two Munster players so it should be a cracker.

Didn't you?
Well when MrP went down yesterday afternoon they had only a couple of scattered seats in the old stand and a few behind the goals at either end left.
Did you see empty seats or did it just seem less busy?

Dreamer, sounds like Scarlets are VERY up for this Munster game.
Scarlets coach said that although they have found it "impossible" (his words not mine) to beat Munster in recent years that it would be a massive pyschological lift to his team for next year to have thrown that monkey off their backs and it will serve them in Europe and Rabo.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Belfast
yep yep yep. We should have beaten you twice in the HEC already, tis all in the mind that we aren't. I honestly don't think that as a team, Munster are that much better (if at all) than us, but Munster's desire to win is incredible. They have the mental edge which we need to overcome.
We already got one monkey off our back this season with beating the O's. Munster are next on our list.

Which footy dreamer? The Waratahs? Blydi frustrating after that fine start.
I switched over and watched some of the U20 State of Origin (NSW 18 - Qld 14) and a bit of the Hawks-Eagles AFL.
Trying to stay up for the other games (Pro12, SXV) but starting to flake out.

ha ha. You know, if it wasn't for Glas.....
You're usually spot on with your tips dreamer. I'd willingly drop further down the SG table to see you win.... again.
Yes, just about to tick over to Sunday here.
(I watched the Arsenal-Chelsea match.... but Wigan v Fulham might be stretching things...)

Breaker, I don't think Munster will win. I think Scarlets will be more motivated and I have a feeling they will win.
It is also a long way from Munsters first team. However that may be a good thing. I would say several of the guys had the stuffing knocked out of their confidence with the Ulster game. Some youngry players could be just what we need.

yeah but it isn't a Scarlets first choice team either. And your 2nd choice team beat us pretty comprehensively last season too.
Think this one is just too close to call.

wow look at this from the Scarlets fbook page!
"We are already over 10,500 tickets for this evening's match."
didn't look anything like that many on the online stadium plan. Hope it's true that we are anywhere near that!
