First topic message reminder :

Hamjambo. Karibuni Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat. The pub has ventured to Dar es Salaam in Tanzania to visit pub regular MBTGOG on his big trip there. Maisha marefu! Afya! Vifijo!

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of Sir Fred "The Needle" Allen, Aberdeen Shikoyi, Isoa Damudamu, Chris "Mossy" Patterson, Nathan Hines and Simon Danielli. The poor defenseless IRB referee's jersey draped over the dartboard is fair game though Whistle

I'll be getting regular score updates via my phone. Sad

Morning all, can worryingly see Irish giving Glos a hammering today, good to see big Jim as captain though, hoping he'll get the job next season!

Gorgeous day here in West Wales, off to St David's in a bit!

Hound,

What is the minimum that Wasps need to take from the game today?

Have the AP decided that there will definately be demotion/promotion? I seem to remember they had all sorts of criteria that clubs had to fulfill to be allowed into the AP even if they topped the lower league.

And only Bristol can come up as things stand. London Welsh beat Bedford
13-3 away last night with their home leg to come.

Bris play Cornish Pirates in the other semi.

C'mon Welsh!!!

They were the first team (v Cardiff) I saw live. Some great playets graced the Old Deer Park turf back on that day in 1970.

Laugh

I can just see that headline from Hugh Farrelly; Springbok infested Ulster over-compensate for Foreign Legion!

This all Irish 23 is a good opportunity to put the boot in. If we win he can say our foreign players are holding the perfectly good Irish players we have back. And if we lose he can say that without our foreign players we're nothing. Thats generally how it goes isn't it? Whistle Wink

Still, in all seriousness, it's good to see two current Ireland U20s starting in an all Irish team. It's quite a weak side in some ways but should be strong enough to make the game interesting.

Several players have been excused from Ulster duty to play for Belfast Harlequins in the AIL League 1A/1B playoff actually. Adam Macklin and Ian Porter are with Quins, although Kyriacou has a neck problem which means they're going to lose Niall Annett to our bench.

Notch, it was only a few years ago you were in this position, don't get ahead of yourselves. Wink I think Penney could do a great job with Munster and get them to compete with Ulster at least. Umaga would be great as a backs coach.

Of course not, I'm just pulling your leg man. Ulster are nowhere near the heights Munster and Leinster scaled, mainly because we have no depth in our squad. Great first XV. Very little behind it; and it's going to take time for that to develop.

There will be a lot of Academy players getting gametime in the Pro12 next season. I'd like to get back into the playoffs but we may have to be realistic because we're blooding so many guys.

Also, why are people so against Staunton? He would be a decent Pro 12 guy, can play full back/centre his experience will help bring the youngsters along and he can help Jackson. I think he would be a fine signing.

0-0 at Wasps. Exeter winning 10-6.

The good thing for Wasps is Newcastle are the ones under more pressure. Sure they'll be alright.

Looking forward to putting this season to bed (Dragons anyway). Was getting more confident of beating Leinster, but then their B team have beaten us the last three or more times. Plus as I said I've never seen Leinster lose live (this is my fourth game today). Hopefully Howley being at RP tonight will spur our Welsh lads on.

The only time I've seen Leinster lose to Ulster live was the time Gibbo, Hughie, Mickado, Micky T etc. decided to visit Ravenhill. Good timing!

Good luck Dragons. Leinsters B team is very beatable but they still play rugby off the top-shelf and will capitalise on any mistakes. I still fancy them to be honest.

Hound- relieved for Wasps. Used to watch them on the BBC before Ulster even came close to their first Heineken Cup final. Too great a club, too big a history, to disappear. Hope they can rebuild now.

I see Peter Stringer scored the winning try for Falcons- he seems to have done well, albeit that will be bittersweet.

Oh- and it looks pretty much certain that Niall O'Connor is coming back to Ulster. Hmmm. Various journalists are now saying it's a done deal as well as the abundance of rumour thats sprung up.
