The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Dar es Salaam
First topic message reminder :
Hamjambo. Karibuni Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat. The pub has ventured to Dar es Salaam in Tanzania to visit pub regular MBTGOG on his big trip there. Maisha marefu! Afya! Vifijo!
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of Sir Fred "The Needle" Allen, Aberdeen Shikoyi, Isoa Damudamu, Chris "Mossy" Patterson, Nathan Hines and Simon Danielli. The poor defenseless IRB referee's jersey draped over the dartboard is fair game though

I'm down West next weekend, so I hope I can go - depends on how things pan out. Late kick off on a Friday night isn't helping though. It means I have to wait around afterwards to get a train at half ten which will get me back home around midnight. That's if the train runs of course...that's not always a given in rural Wales. So we'll see...

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Dar es Salaam
Willy,
I think he may be good for Europe. For one, he wants the Irish Trioka payback-scheme revisited, along with others. With the view to easing the burden and getting Europe back on its feet sooner. But he's a politician. They live on false-promises and lies. Maybe. Maybe he's being honest. And he's a Socialist. Always better for the collective. IMHO. DONT mention Lionel Blair or Milly-band. They are 2nd division Tories.
MrsG job, has her talking to high-level French people all day, every day. They all say one thing. Hollande was not a positive vote. It was an anti-Sarkozy vote.
France, like Germany, is a European powerhouse. They run the show between them. I hope he influences Merkel, to follow his lead, on his proposed rehash, of handling the unmitigated and scandalous mess we are all in. That would be a major positive.
Dont mention the War.

Same thing with my French work colleagues, Gibbo - anti Sarkozy more than anything.
Talking of all things French, it looks likely that the once mighty Brive may get relegated. 5 points from safety after being humbled at home by Bordeaux Begles yesterday.
Possibly my favourite match of last season was their Amlin s/f against Munster. Belter of a game.

Morning all, for me pls. Biltong, I believe they do, altho as the end of the season approaches and there are games of little import for some teams, I think fans of those teams are more likely to switch off or take a break. But they'll be back, no rest for the wicked!

Billy last time I played snooker was over 24 years ago. I was a young man and was invited to play at the multi millionaire's house, he was real egotistical and self impressed.
So after we played a game of doubles he turned around to me with this disrespectful attitiude and said "you look like you can play, let's play for a R1000" Now in those days my car payment was a little over R1 000 per month and due to his attitude, I turned to him and said "A Thousand Rand may be nothing to you but to me it is a lot." So the guy who brought me there told me I shouldn't be disrespectdul to the guy.
I told him to .... off, as this guy was full of it. It turned into a bit of an unpleasant situation and I nearly clobbered the Shoite out of this guy. Needless to say I never were invited back.

Can you still see that far? I am used to playing pool every now and then, so these days I need binoculars to see the pockets on the other side of the table.

Bonjour pub.
No work for me today or tomorrow. It looks like the clouds are going to empty on my part of the world so I won't be venturing far. Pretty gloomy outside
Lots of domestic crepe to do today, then a leisurely afternoon/evening in the pub with TRP and the daily paper.
In other news there is some speculation about the possible sanctions if the RFU find Sale guilty of bringing the game into disrepute by fielding a weakened team against Quins to ensure they get the full EQP payment. One of which is the RFU may withdraw them from the HC

Morning. Dreadful day here.
I did have a free ticket for the Swalec finals, but I'm not going down now. Least the cup is on tv. Hoping Crosskeys get the win anyway. Pontypridd have won enough trophies.

Jeebus, Hound , that would be harsh imo - I'd have them receive a modest financial penalty, anything more than that would likely simply be a lawyer's dream (ie huge fees!)
Great piece on Budgie in this week's TRP - in Dec next year, he will become the oldest man to play in the prem, overtaking Paul Turner - not bad for a prop

Yeah, I read that As. Ligind!
Another remarkable feat is that Castres fh/fb, Romain Teulet scored his 3,000th point for them at the weekend. It took him 11 years, so an average of about 273 points per season. That's some going.

Jeebus, that is an impressive. Castres are so hard to beat at home, but seem unable to carry the same form away

Thanks Asbo!
So, do the AP sides get a bonus of some sort for everytime they field a team with a certain number of EQPs?
Didn't know that.

At the moment, there's a £80k payment for all sides fielding on average more than 14 EQP over the entire season in AP gamesMrsP wrote:Thanks Asbo!
