The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Games of the XXX Olympiad Pub, London
First topic message reminder :
The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Games of the XXX Olympiad Pub, a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
This week the pub has set up in the host city London, where we can watch the greatest athletes from all four corners of the globe compete in a multitude of Sports under the one thousand flame Olympic torch... each wearing the 5 coloured Olympic rings of blue, white (or black), red, yellow and green.
"Citius, Altius, Fortius" (faster, higher, stronger) has been the motto for the modern Olympic Games since their beginning in 1896.
(but not too high obviously!)
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of Marcus Aurelius, Henri Didon, Baron Pierre de Coubertin, Sir Steve Redgrave, Cameron Van De Burgh, Marianne Vos, Murray Rose, Jesse Owens, Emil Zátopek,
Zara Phillips and her fabulous horse "Toytown" and last but not least.... Boris Johnson playing whiff-whaff against Danny Boyle.

Well she was always likely to take it after her stunning performances yerterday and today. Thankfully she didn't fall into a black hole in the final event. Well done Jess and well done GB. Great stuff.

I was worried for a second that she'd get tripped on the final bend. But she did it. Yorkshire's finest! (Apart from Swanny, of course!)

Just having a laff lucky.
The UK's champion cider maker (as voted for by CAMRA) is from Wales. Gwynt y Ddraig, up the road from Penfro Towers.

That bottle of cider you gave me was strong stuff, Hound. It's a good job it was just the one bottle!
I really do like this Stella Artois cidre. Deliciously potable.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Games of the XXX Olympiad Pub, London
Murray and the footballers are the only ones I'm going against. Murray as I want Fed to complete his career (if he odesn't not a big deal) footballers as I hate Irish fans supporting the English club sides!
Still though, amazing day and outstanding stuff. Think I'm running out of words to talk about Team GB really, what more can you say like? Except toss us one please.

Thomond, I haven't been paying attention to the football. I never have in the past and I'm not going to pretend I care just because there's a 'GB' team this time. I'm glad it's not getting any more media attention than it deserves.

Mo Farah? Watching team GB will switch over for the last few laps. Ienjoy the football Lucky, men's and women's not as much pressure on players so produces some spectacular play, always helps you discover one or two more players who are talented that you don't know about.

I can appreciate that, Thomond. Normally I love football, but to me it's just not a sport I associate with the Olympics.

Farah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fawcett was a decent actress.
Another Farah by the name of Mo won gold too, but that's not too important. Fnatastic finish, didn't look like he had the kick but he did it, well done that lad. Well done GB!
