The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Taihape
First topic message reminder :
Hello and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub, a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The Pub has made its way to Taihape - The Gumboot Capital of the World!
http://www.taihape.co.nz/
We also welcome our newest member, Amber ...who no doubt will have an interest in those boots!
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of Aaron Smith, Topsy Ojo, Jason Shoemark, Tom Rees, Gonzalo Garcia, Leo the Leinster Lion and Lalakai Foketi up on the wall.

Is Rev a masochist? A dragons fan who visits dangerous war zones and sports THAT haircut?

Im not sure how they'll react to hearing my new love of the Dragons. Its kind of like when some inner city Limerick type tells you that their 17 year old daughter is pregnant. You feel sorry for them even though they are happy with the situation.
I've always wanted to give someone news and witness the emotional struggle. Telling people I like the Dragons will do that.

Bon soir pub, anyone lurking?
On the player front, I've spoken to quite a few Wasps players, all of them gents. Dave Walder was the best though; he was the players' supporters rep and loved nothing more than sharing a few beers with the fans after a game. Especially Euro away games.
I've been on several player's curry nights during their testimonial seasons, or when they are leaving/retiring. Ibanez's was legendary

Just remember the old adage prop.
Beer on cider is quite a good rider, but cider on beer will make you feel queer.
Personally, cider wrecks me. Not only the strength, but the acidity of it.

Of course! You are heading down to Clermont Ferrand this weekend. Its brilliant. Possibly the best away trip you can get pal.
Hope you have a blast with their fans. They are incredible.

I had no idea who you were first time! Having a meal in a Table Table in Oswestry when you rang. That was the shortest five minutes ever...still had chips left.
Right, come to Parc and Shovey and I will sort it from there. Tidy.

It will take another season at least before we can qualify for the HC, let alone think of winning it again.

ah but with Stevo at the helm, you'll get there Hound
In all fairness I really like the Amlin, you can get some cracking games in it. Will be keeping my eye on it, will be the best shot Scarlets have in europe as there's no way in hell we're making it out of our group. Our new forwards signings just haven't arrived in time to give us a full on chance. Next season though.....

We don't even have the bonus of going to countries you don't go to in the Heino as we've drawn 2 French sides and Gloucester. I can't really muster the enthusiasm for an additional two games against the cherry and whites!!!

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Taihape
Clermont Ferrand looks like a grand spot, my HC Journey has consisted of Dublin, Coventry, Cardiff, Limerick (clutching at straws) and I think that is it.
Haven't travelled too much for rugby to be honest.
How are we all?
Saw today's convo on meetings with rugby players, most are bang on, remember a few years ago I went to watch a Munster as it was close to where my dad worked, not many there but an injured POC was going around talking to everyone nice touch. ROG is a bit of a grumpy feicer at times, he would be plagued around Cork and Ireland though so a bit understandable. None of the sport stars or celebs I have met have been tools. Roy Keane was one of the soundest people out there despite wht people would think. James Hook a nice lad too. There's a thread on which celebrities you have met in the off topic section. Mine stretched fairly long............ (come on now you would be expecting a bit of arrogance from a Cork fella)
My sister met Ryan Tubridy today who hosts the Late Late Show, who was opening something in the School. Might be in the paper tomorrow so that's nice.
Langers knocked off my mother's wing mirror though, some scuts out there in the world.

He's a cracking young lad, Lyndon mentioned him as one to watch in my interview with him last week, plays predominantly as a centre (or at least he has this season). Had heard rumours that Chiefs were sniffing around about him, mitts off I say!
