The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Colwyn Bay
First topic message reminder :
Hello and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub, a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The pub has made its way to Colwyn Bay, where the Tier 2 AIs are currently taking place.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of Bob Scott and Malele Kunavore above the bar.

A young man and his grandfather were taking a walk.
'The economy's in a hell of a state, isn't it?' said the old man.
The grandson nodded and replied, 'Tell me something I don't know.'
The grandfather leaned in to his grandson and said, 'Your nan's @rse can take my whole fist.'

Haha I like that one Lucky!! Starts so innocently!!
A man's walking through a graveyard when he hears some awful music being played, this freaks him out a bit and he looks to see where the music is coming from.
After some searching he see's a light by an open grave...walking over this music gets worse and worse and the man becomes more nervous as he looks in and see's a dead man sat with a piano with blank sheet music.
The man shouts down 'what are you doing?'
'Working' comes the reply.
'What do you mean' the man asks as his ears begin to bleed.
'I'm a decomposer!'

Fantastic to see Northern Ireland has been selected to host the 2013 G8 summit. Presumably we've been chosen for our experience in high stakes negociations and our expertise in riot policing. Everyone's good at something!

Evening All
That is good news Willy. Just think of all those protesters you'll see...that'll be a novelty won't it?
I realised today, I've been in my "new" job for a whole year to the day tomorrow. Where has the time gone?! I was reading back over one of the old pubs yesterday too. It's quite fascinating how things have changed in two years or so...

Great stuff Puma. Your powers of persuasion and dedication to the Cause, are what makes our club truly great.
Hope everyone is well. I'm trying really hard to limit my home & work Net time. This has great benefits for me, not to mention Human-kind itself.
As for other regs missing, a lot are now Tweeting. Apparently, it's the thing to do.
Ah sure, I sometimes hark for the ol mad days we had on 606V1. But, Time stays still for no auld keyboard-warrior.

Good news Willy. The normal 'rent-a-mob' we get in London probably won't make that gig.
We used to get it all the time when I worked on Strand.
Cari - yup, time flies. I can't believe I've survived our new regime for over two years.

I quite liked the job he was doing there too! Although not starting a striker against Juve was suicidal....almost like he knew.

It's not even as if they're on a long run of poor results. It's a dip in form, but all sides have dips in form.

I keep forgetting they have a 'State rugby team' in WA.
Juve were on fire. Some cracking goals there. Although I'm not a Chelsea fan it's pretty ruthless what happened to di Matteo. Pressure will be huge on the successor.

Breaker, this from the BBC:
'Abramovich has made contact with former Liverpool manager Rafael Benítez to gauge his interest in taking charge on a short-term basis.'
That makes it even worse. Was their form really so bad that di Matteo couldn't hold the reins for a bit longer?

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Colwyn Bay
Hasn't Sir Alex lost 2 in a row now? Norwich and now Galatasaray?
He needs to find a new brand of chewing gum.
* * *
Just wondering where everyone is too. Is it rugby exhaustion or are we all busy?
Must admit I felt a little sick this evening (here) watching the Israeli troops... and reserves now massing in Beersheba (sp?).
They interviewed some young soldier who said he "wasn't for any ground invasion... believed there should be more dialogue..."
Who wouldn't agree? Poor bugger... Saw some girls smoking next to the Abrams tanks as well. War is so bloody horrible!
I thought it was kind of ironic to hear the Israelis ask the residents of Gaza to leave their homes and make their way towards the town square in the center of Gaza City. Is that an ominous sign? A bit like the Warsaw Ghetto? I dunno... just too much to bear all of this evil behaviour.

The whole thing just saddens me so much, Breaker. It's wrong for Hamas to be firing rockets into Israel, but the people of Gaza aren't free in any real sense of the word. They don't have freedom of movement. They can't import or export. Should they just accept their lot and watch the continued illegal settlement of the West Bank?
Deep breaths, Rodders. You're almost halfway through the working week, that's something at least!

Are you going to the game Rodders?
Even though I tipped Argentina in sportsbru, I have a feeling Ireland might do well if they can get off to a good start and if the forwards can take it to 'em for the full 80.
The backs looked pretty slick against Fiji - 'twas good to see them play with such confidence. Maybe some unfair criticism of them on other threads but I thought they did a damn good job dismantling the Fijians.

The FA Cup perhaps fair and square but come on they completely and utterly fluked that champions league final. That was the most unjust football match I've ever seen and if Chelsea had any decency they would have offered a rematch. Dimatteo has flattered to deceive, regardless of results. Abramovich has made a laughing stock of himself though.

Breaker, the ghetto analogy is horrible. The history of Israel is tortured. The state was set up on an amazing amount of goodwill, as a result of the holocaust of course, but I can't help feeling that this has been chipped away at persistently by Israel's behaviour since. If they are not careful they may end up as "just another state".

He sounds Australian to me.
Willy, I agree with you about the Champions League final, but the bottom line is that he (or the team with him as manager) gave Abramovich the trophy he wanted. Also, they were top of the Premiership not so long ago.

Oh I agree lucky but I still think his achievements flatter to deceive. He brought in a class amount of talent (albeit for a mighty price) and won't see the fruits of his labour.

No LB...was at the SA game... thats enough excitment for one season! ...
The backs were superb against Fiji, delighted with that performance.... I wouldn't hold out much hope of many of those young guys starting although it sounds like Gilroy may get the nod on the wing ....
