The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Pyongyang
Hello and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub, a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The pub has made its way to Pyongyang in a bid to persuade Kim Jong Un to pack away the missiles, grab a beer and watch the rugby.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of Donal Walsh, Chris & the late Hannah Eaton, the retiring Marcus Horan, the recently hospitalised Schalk Burger (with meningitis), the recuperated Jacques Burger, and the three-peating ANBL champion NZ Breakers

Said something to the referee, I don't know what but Leighton Hodges didn't like it at all... swore at the camera on the way off too! Silly boy.

Right, instinctive gut reaction, no reasoning or logic required, will Leinster manage to beat Munster away?

Annyeonghaseyo Pub.
Not sure, Glas. I can never tell which team is on the up / what comp they are 'going for'.
I'll stick my neck out and go for a draw... or a narrow win for Munster. Won't Leinster have other things on their mind?
Go Breakers!!

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Pyongyang
17 Points we lost when we were down to 14 men? Pretty annoying.
Saw our try on The You Tube. Deserved more of a mention I felt on here than the passing reference to it. I suspect if Tommy Bowe had finished off that, it would be spoken about till the end of time by Bowe/Ulster supporters.
Things like that annoy me, I guess. I'll be honest, I kind of rely on these sites to try and gauge how Dragons perform etc (as I can't really watch them when I am working, especially overseas) and that's what I was on about earlier, when I say it's disappointing that conversations were a little one sided on the match thread. I don't see the harm in saying so and so is having a good game or something like that and it was pretty annoying that only one person showed an interest in the Darren Waters story I posted (though I guess speculating on potential transfers is more important). Should have known better really. At least I know not to bother my arsh with the match thread when we play Munster next week too.
Should probably log off for a while really and maybe come back nearer the Lions.
Rant over, Rev out

Morning All
Risca - I see your point on the one-sided conversations. Unfortunately that happens with a lot of threads due to the ratio of fans on here - and not just in the rugby section.
In all honestly, it was difficult for me to comment on the Dragons. I was watching with rosy specs on and I'm not familiar with half of the players they had there last night, bar the usual internationals who were pretty nondescript. Faletau was his very reliable self (until he fouled right at the end, but that was irrelavant by the time it had happened anyway). There was some confusion with substitutions as well in the second half for the Dragons which didn't help either. I'm sure Lucky will be able to give you a better update about it (if he saw it) or a Welsh website will. I was chuffed for Prydie getting his try despite pressure (well he IS an exiled Ospreylian ). Shame he missed both his kicks, but thems the breaks. This site isn't always great for keeping an eye on a match because of its very nature (conversations descending into a row, going off topic etc) unless you join in and keep asking questions/making comments. If you had done that I'm sure at least one person would respond. That's what I do if I can't see a match and want to know what's happening or how a player is doing. If that's impossible, the P-12 website does a brilliant live updater and it's bang up to date as well (unlike some other sites). I'm assuming you're not in the UK and were unable to access the BBC website to watch it live.
Looks like it's going to be a beautiful day in Cardiff...and hopefully the sun will be shining on O's HQ later. O's really need a BP win if possible, they're stuck too far outside the table now...

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Pyongyang
Yeah it was a cracking score Rev. Lot of respect for the way the Dragons went about their business in the second half. 31-0 down after 44 minutes, would have been easy for them to give up or try and keep the score down but they kept playing rugby.
7-5 in the second half, which is a reflection of not just Ulster emptying the bench to rest key players but Dragons attitude. I mean we were a bit unlucky not to finish with another try but Dragons didn't let anything come easy so fair play to them. Mark Anscombe was very unhappy with our second half performance but if it means we have plenty left in the tank for Connacht, so be it.
Was a bit disappointed in Lydiate and Faletau. Like so many Welsh internationals, they look like half the player once you take them out of the red jersey. You have to wonder what regional rugby means to these guys.

The villains of the piece were Dan Evans and Tom Prydie; Evans for a needless yellow card which preceded a nightmare 10 minutes for the Dragons and Prydie for this;

Plus missing an easy penalty. I feel for the Dragons because all Ulsters points came within a 20-miute period either side of half-time. They had three half decent quarters in the game but had a shocker between 23 and 44 minutes where they conceded four tries.

Touch judge was no better...he was asked twice about the try and allowed it...not that I'm complaining too much, mind. Can't see O's getting two tries for the WBP in ten minutes...

Top 6 after that;
1 Ulster 71
2 Leinster 68
3 Glasgow 67
4 Ospreys 62
5 Scarlets 62
6 Munster 48
Ospreys now have Glasgow and Leinster to play! This could be where Ulster and Scarlets slightly easier run-ins come into play.

It's only easier if you can do the business. If Glasgow go off the boil they could yet fail to make it. Leinster v Ospreys is HUGE, a Lions trial.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Pyongyang
We have the advantage of playing teams who have 'nothing' to play for. But slippery fixture for Ulster at Connacht. Win that I think we'll finish first. We at least are confirmed in the playoffs since Scarlets failed to get the BP last night but now we're targeting top seed.
If Glasgow lose to Ospreys next week they will be under a lot of pressure. But I would back them to beat Connacht when their backs are up against the wall.

Go on son what's your take... I seem to remember him kneeing BOD in the head during an Irish game a few seasons ago. Safe to say his foot/eye coordination isn't the best.

The fact it's an accident doesn't save him if its reckless. Borderline for me. Hope he doesn't get banned for too long, especially at this point of the season. I hope DK will be alright though. That sort of thing gets mums stopping their boys playing. Leinster look to be peaking at just the right time.
