The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Pyongyang
First topic message reminder :
Hello and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub, a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The pub has made its way to Pyongyang in a bid to persuade Kim Jong Un to pack away the missiles, grab a beer and watch the rugby.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of Donal Walsh, Chris & the late Hannah Eaton, the retiring Marcus Horan, the recently hospitalised Schalk Burger (with meningitis), the recuperated Jacques Burger, and the three-peating ANBL champion NZ Breakers

Yes, but Clermont have had the lows, too. It's hard to begrudge them their success, and it helps that they're playing some great rugby to boot.
I have to admit I was torn the other night, wanting the Scarlets to get the win they needed (or in the end, didn't need), but being really pleased for Treviso. They're improving all the time.

End of June Puma, and thanks for the offer. Unfortunately Scotland is now off the agenda...too expensive also the plane times and getting accommodation are awkward for when we wanted to go...so we've opted for an alternative city break in England instead.

Howdy peeps. A fine weekend for me - loved Saturday out in Henley. Especially as we mainly managed to avoid the posh mob.
If it's any consolation on the Os missing out on the Rabo play offs Cari, my beer of the weekend was 'Osprey' from Cotleigh Brewery.

Ospreys fans have been saying the Scarlets qualifying is a waste of a play off place, erm, you could have done something about it...

I happen to agree that they are a better team, but that's not the point.

Possibly a better squad, when they're all fit; but Scarlets put one over the big city boys too.
Most of the Welsh folk I've met in my part of London over the last 15 years or so were Llanelli/Scarlets fans. We talked about rugby a fair bit, so I've followed the results.

We're ailing though and have been for five years. There's only so much it can go on for before the house of cards falls down.

whattyoutalkinboutLewis? We paid for the play off place by our pish poor start to the season. No complaints form me for missing out. Disappionting but the Os were'nt good enough throughout the whole season tbh.
West Wales? No chance! West Wales is where the M4 ends Jn 49. We're still South......to me.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Pyongyang
Afternoon all, lovely weekend in London, even if Saturday was mostly a hangover write-off.
On Friday my 1-pint after-work plus 1-pint at friend's birthday drinks turned into 8-10 pints (I lost count, but my friend who works for Fullers was very kindly lending his staff 15% dicount card to everyone) and a couple of glasses of English whisky. I nearly got run over by a pizza delivery scooter stumbling back to the tube station too. Though we did manage to entertain ourselves by classifying the wealth of respective streets (it was Belgravia btw) by the cars on the street:
-Street 1: 3 Aston Martins, 2 Bentleys, 2 Porches and quite a few Range Rovers
-Street 2: Couple of Jags, some nice Mercedes, some BMWs and a heap of Range Rovers. Oh and a scruffy Nissan Primera
-Street 3: Couple of Astons, some Mercedes, a Porsche and Ranges
...
More importantly, the Crusaders won in Canberra for the 1st time in a decade, and the Chiefs qualified for HEC, so

I saw the Brumbies' interception try, but then I fell asleep on the sofa. Sunday was my hangover write-off.

That's the one.
The food was pretty good too. I had chicken breast, stuffed with chorizo & parmesan and wrapped in Parma ham, in a white wine & cream sauce, lush!

Bore da pawb / good morning all.
Hound, that song always reminds me of the Shirehorses' spoof of it. I listened to Dermot O'Leary's show a few Saturdays ago and he played 'Love is the Law' by the Seahorses followed by 'North Country Boy' by the Charlatans; the Shirehorses' spoofs of those two are far better than the originals!

Howdy doody. Tis the nicest part of the day here. Sadly we should have heavy rain in about an hour.
What's the feeling on the weekend's semi finals? Home wins in all four I reckon, with the only potential upset being Quins at Tigers.

I won't be unhappy however the Rabo semis pan out, but as a Welshman I'd love to see the Scarlets make the final, and I've watched Glasgow quite a bit this season and they play great rugby. It would be so good for Scottish rugby - and for the league overall - if they could win it.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Pyongyang
I hope the Ulster game sells out. Thing is, 3000 odd tickets went to the Scarlets but they sent almost all of them back it seems like. So only season ticket holders could buy the remaining 75%- Scarlets returns are on general sale to the public now but only two days until the game. Could be tight.
Plenty of demand mind you. 11 sell out games at Ravenhill this season, you'd expect a semi-final to sell out easily even with the slight increase in prices. Anyway, it's on at 7.30 on BBC 2 NI on Friday. Leinster vs Glasgow- same time Saturday Night on BBC Alba

Ok irish regs........i've planned and booked everything apart from airport transportation....
What's the best way of getting from Belfast International to Belfast City Centre?
What's the best way of getting from Dublin to Dublin Airport?
How much will each cost? Also do you have a bank holiday on the 27th May?
Cheers!!

There's a regular bus from Belfast international to Belfast city centre, or you could get a taxi... its about 20miles though...
Not sure about Dublin but I'm sure there's a bus too.
27th May is bank holiday in NI, I think too in the south?....

Talking of Dublin travel, I arrive next Friday at about 2pm and will be departing on the Monday. Is it worth getting Leap card? Presumably they're similar to the Oyster card in London.
Bear in mind I'll be back over for the evening before the Lions flight.
Ta muchly.

PROP - there's two buses from Dublin Airport to the city centre. Can't miss them, they go from right outside the terminal. The big blue one was 7 euros and goes straight to O'Connell Street. The Green one was 6 euros and goes to the bus station on Store Street. I say was because those were the prices two years ago when I last caught the bus there. Couldn't tell you about Belfast cause I got a free taxi there and back...however there is an Ulsterbus that goes to and from the airport.
And good evening everyone else.
LUCKY - Balls! I don't want the Scarlets anywhere near the final!!!
