The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Pyongyang
First topic message reminder :
Hello and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub, a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The pub has made its way to Pyongyang in a bid to persuade Kim Jong Un to pack away the missiles, grab a beer and watch the rugby.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of Donal Walsh, Chris & the late Hannah Eaton, the retiring Marcus Horan, the recently hospitalised Schalk Burger (with meningitis), the recuperated Jacques Burger, and the three-peating ANBL champion NZ Breakers

Wouldn't it be gutting for him if he didn't get picked now after he thought he was going to get called in for Flannery in 2009. That would a heart breaker for him.
I'm worried this Barbarians team isn't going to test the Lions. Hopefully they spend a bit less time in the bar and a bit more time on the training pitch over the next week...

Hartley will undoubtedly appeal if his comments were aimed at Tom Youngs as he has claimed. Still, he was daft to say what he did as Barnes told him he would take action if he thought any further unsavoury comments were aimed at him.

This is going to sound harsh but, no matter who they pick to replace Hartley I am already starting to feel a greater affinity towards this squad.
I was really struggling to munster any feelings of support for a squad containing that fool.
Didn't like feeling that way, never felt that way before but there you have it.

Mrs P you are not alone. Hartley tainted that squad. Harsh but true.

We're the only ones who are disappointed, Mrs P.
Hey Hound & Stag... some nice things happening outside your hotel (0:24-0:28). They had a giant plastic yellow duck in Darling Harbour (so cute!) but I think that's gone now. It was causing traffic problems....

Did a giant leave it behind after his bath?
So, who would you least like to see replace the fool then?

Idread to think who Gatland will take now.
I wonder if he will wait for an appeal to be heard before he announces a replacement?

It's hard to see an appeal outcome that will make him available for the game against Western Force a week on Wednesday.
Gatland did say you have to be on that plane to Hong Kong and thats leaving tomorrow.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Pyongyang
I wonder what the atmosphere will be like between Gatland and Best?
It would not be the nicest position to be in to know that the coach preferred an absolute fool to you.
Rory is a pro though so he'll handle it like the man is we know him to be. Gatland always seems to find exactly the wrong thing to say though so it could be interesting enough!

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Pyongyang
Congratulations Rory, I actually had him pencilled in as potential captain during the 6N, Warburton wasn't leading Wales, Robshaw was never going, ditto Brown, so Best seemed the only experienced "leader" that was going to be a nailed on starter.
Wales have a blinder (first 40 minutes aside) of a 6N, Best's darts go wayward and all of a sudden he wasn't even going.
I always think it's a little unseemly to celebrate when a professional athlete has a meltdown, but given Hartley's previous and the outcome for Best, I'll make an exception...

I think they are both professionals. I'm sure Rory will just do what he always does which is work hard on his own game and lead from the front. Whether he'll be considered for test team depends on his form in the warmups like everyone.

Has anyone made the obvious comment about Rory and Lions yet..? I'll leave it...good for him though. I just hope his passport was found and didn't need renewing! Get those budgie smugglers out Rors! There's always the hotel pool to wear them at.

I hope he's packed his thermals...ah no! that still references underwear...erm...the passport would probably be the most important thing. He seemed very cool about it all last night when the Scrum V team told Rory about Hartley. I bet he wooped in the change room though!

New pub needed soon. Any nominations?
Perhaps we need to base ourselves in Aussie with the tour coming up.

13 days till I depart mrs p
Haven't even started to pack or set aside clothes yet though. Though I did order an NGN Sevens top and a lions based tshirt which slags off the wallabies which is surely going to make me popular.
Quick question, I have 2 days in Bangkok on our way home. It's presumably too late to get my hep a vaccine but as long as I play it safe I'll be grand right?

Not too late to get your Hep A vaccination.
Recommended that you get about 2 weeks before you travel so you are well within that. You can get it right up tothe day you travel though!
No excuses!

We are just talking hep A right?
One dose will protect you for about a year. If you get the booster after 6-12 months you should be protected for 20 years.

All the best to Mrs Rodders. (as she's recovering)
Just watching the Jeff Final highlights on ITV4. Some cracking tries and good play. Looks like there was a great atmosphere for it too.

Have you decided on a name?
WillyG,
It depends what you are planning to do and what type of accomodation you are staying in and how much you trust those who will be preparing your food.

Dear oh dear...bit of a farce near HT. Some kiddies who were doing the HT entertainment invaded the pitch too soon just before Wayne Barnes sent Hartley off. Think Barnesy had had enough by then.
