I am surprised that Stan still has energy and power left out in his hands and body.

Stan looks like he's 'already' running on fumes... This game is so tense, needs to summon every ounce of stamina to get past this Djokovic beast-mode defence.

Absolutely. One of the greatest hold I have seen, Djoko was on a Rock mode, I am pretty sure Stan will break now as he promised to almighty that he will pay back the due if he gets that 1 point to get the game.

Reminded me of the classic game Sanchez Vicario and Graf played in the Wimbledon final 95/96.

Every time I see Ana Wintour I think of the Jay Z line, "Ana the Winter (Wintour) gets cold in Vogue with your skin out"... When does she actually work? At every second tennis tourney

Djoko is lucky in one aspect if somehow he wins this marathon he doesn't have to play his finals tomorrow but Monday after a day of rest, this wasn't the cushion for some former great champs.

It will be the 4th consecutive USO finals for Djoko if he makes it there, looks like he is following Lendl more than Murray is doing.

Re: US Open - Matches - continued
What is making the difference between these two is the belief, Djoko refusing to believe Stan is the better player, he simply feels he is the champion and he gonna win in the end, on the other hand Stan might be thinking he is playing the game of his life and still it could go either way, thats why you need to win something big to get that mentality.

Re: US Open - Matches - continued
Yeah yeah, Fed old, Nadal injured, and we get to see Djoko as no:1, at this quality.
Then Andy wins a couple of GS and doesn't care any more and can't fire himself.
Tennis is a joke last 2 years.

Stan Still, he can be very, very happy with this week's achievements and look forward to a nice week or two off. Credit to Novak, he hung in there like Australia and never gave up. He'll be fresh for the final at least.

Re: US Open - Matches - continued
Loved Stan's interview, calling Novak a "f***ing so and so". Good effort by Stan, but you have to be one hell of an athlete to beat Novak in a fifth set. He really needed to do it in 4.
This match will be much more straight forward. Straight sets for Rafa.

I think I'll watch the match, but a set and a break up for Rafa might be bedtime. Might stay up later if it looks closer.

Re: US Open - Matches - continued
Stan just had to win in 3 or 4. He was never going to beat Nole in a 5th set.
Poor Stan.
Great tournament for him. And a pretty decent cheque too. 1% of that money would brighten my month.

Re: US Open - Matches - continued
What an amazing match, almost as good as Wawrinka v. Djoko I in Australia. I don't know Novak could have spent way too much energy again getting to the final against an opponent who I think will have an extremely easy go of it against Gazza. Come on Gazza take this beatch the distance to even things out. It has to be Nadal v. Djoko for the title, fast become one of the greatest rivalries in the history of the sport.

Re: US Open - Matches - continued
Gasquet needs to avoid getting so far behind the baseline and running so far as Nadal pulls him out wide and tires him. I think he needs to try to dictate a bit, and go for it more, and take chances.
